• I do one meal a day but make sure I get my calories to at least 1200, usually 1300. I just use my leftover calories as play room and have a tablespoon or two of natural peanut butter, etc., maybe some bacon. It depends on what I'm eating as well. I find cauliflower extremly heavy, so days where I have faux shepherd's pie…
• I am 6 months in and haven't. They know I'm grain free and low carb, they do not know I'm high fat. Some people I've said "I don't need to watch the fat", but no need to start the arguements with the others yet. I had planned to initially, but then my Dad's reaction to low carb was "good, carbs will kill you, are you still…
• today was supposed to be a fast day (I do one meal a day normally, with a long fast each weekend). Then my toddler asked for some of the bacon out of the fridge (I cook a pack at a time and just put whatever is left in the fridge).... crap. Not a fast day now LOL who can resist?
• Bacon Philly Cheesesteak Peppers recipe from Peace Love and Low Carb Natural peanut butter Burgers Omelettes with pizza toppings Totally with you guys on the steak, but I we almost never have it - I can't stomach the price!
• Do these freeze well? I dont think I'd go through 6 very quickly.
• I eat once a day and love it. I do one fast day one the weekend, as well. Keto is amazing with fasting, since you don't feel hungry and you don't crash. I dropped down to eating twice a day and a morning bulletproof coffee pretty quickly after starting keto (maybe 2 weeks or so), then dropped lunch, then dropped the coffee…
• That is so amazing!!!!! My hubby isnt on keto anymore (we started together, he's been on a different WOE for 3 months now) but he still watches what he eats and tracks daily etc., it makes a world of difference
• I agree with PP, for me a lot of the success is in feeling more in control due to reduced hunger. When I am in ketosis I am not hungry, and do not get cravings. Eating low carb/high fat has a ton of flavour, so I don't (usually) feel deprived and feel extremely satisfied on a reduced calorie intake.
• oh my goodness where is my optimism from yesterday? transition flu has my head spinning, I dont remember feeling this crappy the first time I went into ketosis LOL. First time I've ever kicked myself all the way out. Brutal. I found myself considering indulging again, and justifying it... trying to talk myself into it.…
• I went completely off the rails for a few days and am feeling great about it. Sounds crazy, I know, but almost 6 months in now and I NEVER cheat, so it feels good to know that I can go off the rails and still get back on. Hubby and I are finishing the last of the carb-loaded food tonight (I havent eaten yet today so glad…
• yup thats what I came on to say - sounds gross but pork rinds ftw!
• i have the ketonix (breath) but I rarely use it. Almost never now. Was the most cost effective method since hubby and I were both keto when I originally bought it (he's not now though - he's almost done his first full round of p90x3 and found a couple of weeks in that he felt much better on carbs)
• Totally what I'm expecting (one huge loss once it calms down). Plus side... I tried on some old size 16 jeans this morning AND THEY FIT. So water fasting is definitely still working for me, even if the scale isnt moving :) I think I'll try to get to bed at a better time this week too, as I find even sneaking a Saturday nap…
• I'm trying - doing crafts with the kids today (star wars snowflakes for me, colouring for them!) but not really a lot of downtime. Kids are 1.5 and 3.5, husband works weekends, and all this food prep and cleaning take a ton of time. Real life is getting in the way of my weight loss :p I dont get it though, 45-46 hours is…
• Hubby is Portuguese ... I think you can imagine the carby food I'll be facing at my in-laws. I'm doing a crockpot ham there and loaded "potato" (cauliflower) casserole - it's my go-to for family functions because its AMAZING. I highly recommend fresh cauliflower over frozen.…
• UGH cortisol strikes again. The next 3 months are going to be insane for me at work (tax season) and it seems that any time I go over 50 hours/week I don't lose. Nervous I'm not going to lose for months. I'm UP this week.
• Nice!!!!! I'm 4 lbs away from my Christmas goal. Was feeling great about it as my fasts usually drop around 3 lbs, but this week I only lost 1. So I might not make it.
• Great work! It's been 5 years for me, and I'll hit it before the end of the month I think!
• holy s**t! You are GORGEOUS! Great work!
• So I'm one of the people who is continuing to be very cautious up until Christmas... partly because it ISN'T "just one day" ...I thought it was the norm in this day of diverse families to have a number of Christmas celebrations? In just Dec 24-Dec 28 I have three Christmas celebrations. Going overboard 3 times in a week is…
• yup can totally speak to different body types. I have 2 young kids. Before kids at this weight I was in a tight 14. After my first child at this same weight I was a 16. Now post kids I'm an 18! Part of it is just carrying weight differently, but my hips have for sure changed.
• I'm purposely avoiding current pics (I'll be taking them at the 6 month mark).. started at 259, tight size 22 pants (I'm just under 5'7"), am currently 204 and a size 18 (starting to get baggy in the bum but I still need them for my hips/stomach). It'll be 5 months Tuesday :)
• So much easier when you do it together! Hubby and I will be 5 months in on the 8th :) Different macros now, but the lifestyle change happened together.
• mine are never quite this perfect, but this is what I do: http://www.lowcarbreviews.com/swedish-breakfast-buns/
• haha the one immediately above is just shy of 5 months apart, these did not post well!
• this one is barely 3 weeks apart for P90x3! Hmm these pictures are flashing.. hope they post okay
• That is absolutely fantastic. Congratulations!
• I'm straight up, don't avoid any social functions I would normally attend, but I do bring my own food. I always let the host know in advance, and it hasn't been an issue at all. Most resist with "well what can you eat, I'm happy to make something else for you" but when I explain that it's not just about the fact that I'm…
• You look awesome! Are you doing any strength training, etc? Your arms have recovered beautifully!
• I'm in for another New Year to Easter or so challenge! I've surpassed the goal this time and am losing really well this past month, but it's going to start to get tricky soon, I'm sure. I'll hit my 6 month mark January 8.
