@Orphia Sometimes it feels like I can't do 10 steps without running into dogs. I need to move into a big city where dogs are used to people that run around without looking suspicious :) @ereck44 K here's the quick and dirty guide. Tempo run = run at a speed you can maintain for about an hour (if necesary). You should feel…

Ok so long run today and it went fine. Did I tell you guys we have a stray dog problem here? I met like 2 packs of 5+ dogs today that started barking at me. I am now instinctively stop running at the fist bark I hear. First pack stopped when I stopped, one of them came and started begging for food. Second pack didn't came…

@womanofgod4893 And then there are people that run twice a day, 6 days a week. And in their day off they just run once I know personally some people into their 60s and beyond that are are streakers. One didn't take a day off in 20 years or so. He runs at least 10 min (about 2km) if he can't do more to not lose his streak.

Half way there. 95 today and I became a river of sweat. I think I adapted pretty good to the heat. I can run in this heat and still complete my run without getting it too hard and without any water. My heart rate feels it with about 5 beats though but the effort doesn't seem greater A friend of mine didn't run almost at…

I just had to refuse a free invitation to Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon in Dublin because I know I'm not ready for a half. I mean I could maybe finish it but the chance I walk it out without an injury is too low for me. I hope I made the right call. Pull ups are easier the lighter you are obviously. The number one thing you can do is lose weight. I'm a man and I was 204 in February. I could do around 4 complete pull ups. When I was 220 I could do 1. If you want to train to do a pull up I suggest looking into negative pull ups (you start high and lower yourself slowly)…

@MNLittleFinn Go for it man don't worry about it. It's fun running with people and if he is really out of shape recovery won't be a problem. Just take the next day off or something. If I'd be following my program and paces 100% I'd always run alone

Very hot today. 95 degrees at 8 pm. After the run I have a very strange craving for frozen mixed vegetables seasoned with nothing but salt. I'm with @Stoshew71 in that speedwork like intervals with low rest or 4 min hard 1 slow aren't a great idea unless you know what your're doing. This are one of the hardest workouts and you will burn if you keep doing it week after week. I believe running at tempo pace (and being careful to not run faster) is the best bang…

Went to track today. I had an easy run of 9 km but I did 8 then decided to see if I have any speed in me and tried the 100 and 400 meters dash. I planned to do the 1000 m also but after the 400 I wanted to just die. Did 14-15s on 100 meters and 72s on 400 m. According to the internet it's not great :)) but not bad either.…

@Stoshew71 In his last book Daniels says you can keep your pace at your VO2Max for about 11 minutes. @MNLittleFinn If my watch didn't tell me I'd lose track too. I suppose you could get one of those counter clickers or just use some chalk and mark it somewhere. Checking in. I really need to get going with my diet again. So far I ate at maintenance and didn't drop a pound in the last month. Running makes it really easy to maintain. @5BeautifulDays It's a funny situation. Also sad. Every time someone gets injured (or killed like a kid last year) the media blows up and some people ask for their extermination but then other organizations, something similar to PETA steps up and they round it up in shelters and decide they get killed after a while when no…

Today I went exploring around. I found a nice road in a forest near Danube (2nd largest river in Europe). Sadly it isn't very runable because the forest appears to be inhabited by stray dogs and they don't seem to friendly. My country has a big stray dog problem and it's kinda dangerous to go alone on certain trails.…

@9voice9 Damn that's a huge race. Biggest race we have around here doesn't even come close and it's a marathon. Congratulations @MNLittleFinn Those last miles seem though. Pretty good time considering you had to walk. Congratulations

@ROBOTFOOD Duuudeee that sucks. I hope you make a quick recovery. Had to google Rhabdomyolysis cause I never heard of it. Wikipedia says one of the causes can be extreme physical exercise (particularly when poorly hydrated). You didn't happen to engage in any extreme physical exercise particularly when poorly hydrated…

This be the car club thread? Well here we go againg. A whooping 200 km for this month. That's a lot of kilometers. That's like 100+100 or 20+20+20+20+20+20+20+20+20+20. Dang. Or 1+1+1...ok I stop. I also signed up for a 10k trail through some forest and I hope I get some trail shoes by august. Date.....Distance..Avg…

Got home today and found this in the mail. So excite can't wait to try it. Did a few laps around the house and it doesn't bounce at all with my phone in and still has room for my keys and stuff. So sad today It's rest day :(

@AnnieWilliams19792 Hold on, before you go any further, I'd like to point out I would hit on you for a one night stand and I wouldn't really care about your age

Ha I only had 4 rest days this month since I will run tomorrow but I think I'll make it short and slowwww and take a rest day on Thursday. Funny cause I'm feeling quite fine Today also went to the gym to try something. They say to hit leg day and workouts together so you have time to recover so went and did 5x5 squats and…

6km in 29 min means either 4:51 min/km or 7:49 min/mile Rarely see runners use kmh or mph as their speed. I suggest you should track it in the same system as your distance tracking. If you use km, use min/km, if you use miles use min/mile. As for distances there are just a few you should know in both km or miles to make it…

Well I decided to take my first ice bath and I'm sitting here in the bath and I'm *kitten* freezing. Threw a towel on my upper body to keep me warm :)) 10 more minutes to go Edit: Ok I'm out. I can't feel some extremities bellow my belly but It feel pretty good. Definitely much better than ice packs. And it's not even that…

So today was supposed to be rest day but I had this friend of mine that asked me to help her get back in running with a structured program so I guessed..eh what the hell let's see what he can run. Turns out she didn't stop for 45 minutes and she would have kept going. This is someone who didn't ran since September. Simply…
