This, and it seems a common thread and bias that it's impossible for Joe or Jane Average to have a high TDEE or high exercise activity burn without being an athlete. Some people are taller, heavier, are more proficient in their movements, so can eke out a few extra steps or reps in a given time span, and achieve a higher…

Most instructors list suggested dvd rotations on their websites. She doesn't have that available?

I was reading up on Cushing Syndrome. A lot of fat storage due to excess cortisol and it causes muscle wasting. Nothing to do with eating at a deficit though, but the source of excess cortisol must be addressed.

Constantly gaining water weight? Lymphadema. Most of my mother in laws body weight comes from her legs.

Blast obnoxiously loud techno or EDM and keep going until the next "oh shizzle that's my jam" song comes on. And if it's really good repeat it. For weights I do the countdown in halves- 16 reps, ok 8 left, ok gimme 4, ok gimme 2, another 2, done!

It's not part of the lats? I have that line also and when I flex my lats it tends to pop. It kinda borders the bottom of my ribcage but I actually have a rib that pokes out through the back.

I do moderate weight training (15 to 25 lb dumbbells max) with dvds and YouTube videos at home as my energy levels allow. I lift heavier with machines using the Jefit app at the gym. Nothing crazy, I have lumbar spine issues as well. I do daily cardio for stress relief, again mostly videos or dvds- spinning, step aerobics,…

I haven't done any structured hypertrophy programs. I want to do SL 5x5 but I'm hesitant because of degenerative disc issues in my lumbar spine. I need to keep looking for safe options, and so far most trainers I've run into can't see why I'm interested in lifting anything heavier than 15 lb dumbbells.

I know right! I'm trying to look like her! #goals
-
But you are in a lot better shape than me! You look great! So my options are lose the 23 and be happy with the decent muscle I have, or recomp now.
-
Thank you. I take whatever it gives me with a grain of salt just in case. But I've had it so long I'm familiar with what's reasonable and what's not. Checking out the other recommended threads now.

Thank you. I was thinking if I should just go for a recomp now cuz it's not like the scale is really moving anyway vs. keep fighting for fat loss. I'm already a single digit size and happy with somewhat, but hung up on the scale and I feel flabby. I'm looking into structured weight training plans and cutting back some…

A low day is 7000. I've been taking Topamax for years. No effect on weight. I gain on it too.
-
I fixed that. Exercise is usually jogging/walking incline intervals on treadmill for 4- 5 miles or 1 hr step aerobics. Sometimes 1 hr sports drills, Spinningn or kickboxing dvd. Intensity feels like it might be getting easier, so sometimes I use weighted gloves and I'm considering a weight vest. But I do walk every day.…

Yes I have. I get pretty consistent burns.

I am insanely hungry on workout days so I do tend towards the 1700 to 1800. On fibro flare/ low energy days I tend toward 1400. Thank you for your help. :)

Many years. Went from 208 to 137, then regained 10 last year (mental self sabotage, totally over it) and it won't come off. I lose a little, then I maintain. Not an official diet break, I just stop losing and stay at a weight and maintain. And repeat. I know these last lbs will come off slower but something should have…

My weight fluctuated +/- 2 lbs almost daily for about 4 months. Calories averaging 1400 to 1800 depending on points used. I followed their plan but tracked calories here. I stayed at what looked like a deficit (in the green).

I get to about 15000 to 20000 steps per day. I walk and take mass transit (no car), and use the stairs in my office (4th floor). I live in a walk up apartment and have no medical conditions. I feel I'm just doomed. :'(
-
Yes I'm very confused. I should be losing something.

Mostly for stress relief. I used to binge eat after work. Now I exercise. It's not everyday. Have cut back on weekend to 30 to 60 minutes of a dvd.
-
Your progress is very encouraging and lets me know what's possible if I stick to the plan and keep going. Thanks for sharing!

If you really are stuck at that level check out Reddits 1200isplenty. A lot of posters with creative menus of meals and snacks with decent volume for around 1200 calories.

Definitely! Variety and a great playlist helps!

Extremely helpful for dealing with those who have no respect for what the recipe says a portion size is. I measure out my grams, they glom as much as they want. No worry about odd measurements afterwards.

I come from a family where morbid obesity is normal. I used to hear this from my parents until I said I was losing weight for health reasons, that my doctor recommended a healthy weight for me, and that I wasn't there yet. I also told them they just weren't used to seeing me smaller. They've since backed off. Before they…
