IF Forever?
Silly question. It's been said not to do anything for weight loss you don't want to maintain. Well I did 16:8 IF for 5 days and noticed a huge difference in my belly bloat and definition... as in I actually saw some and had a great woosh. Question is once I get to goal is this something that has to be continued, do you…

Please Critique Diary
Done with WW and ready to fully focus on calorie counting. Could you please look over my diary and see where I can improve? A few things: I will work on not skipping days of logging. That was when I was double tracking/ logging on WW. My calorie burns are from Fitbit with negative adjustments set. I exercise twice per day…

Gram units of 1 vs Gram Units of 100
Hi. So I saw in another thread that when choosing entries it is best to use entries in units of 100.0 g due to rounding and not 1g units. For example, I weighed a banana and entered 1.23 serving using 100g, then used an entry of 123 servings using 1g and got a discrepancy of about 30 calories higher for the 100g entry…

Family friendly recipe books
Hi. I get bored cooking and eating the same dinners frequently, and so does my family. Any suggestion for family friendly, low calorie cookbooks? No restrictions. We can all afford to lose a few. Thanks.

Success stories and Flip Flopping
I have a very bad habit of flip flopping plans based on other people's success. I have friends on 3 different health and fitness forums that I communicate with regularly. And it always happens that when I see one person doing well on Plan A I do that until I see someone with better results from Plan B then I switch, and on…

Trendweight Creeping Gain
I took a look at my Libra graph and it showed a creeping gain since August of about .25 lba week (excess of 150 calories per day it said). I have my calories set up for .5 loss per week (1320), so clearly something is not working. My average daily intake is 1700 to 1900 calories. I earn about 800 to 1000 a day in exercise…

Total vs net calories
Good afternoon. I need some advice on total vs net calories. Almost every week I'm either over or have a small deficit on my total calories, but I'm under my net by a few hundred calories post exercise. Is this okay? Should I just ignore the total and focus on my net? Or am I blowing my deficit out of the water? TIA

Topomax question
Hi all. I recently was taken off of Topomax for migraines after being on it for years. Aside from the return of my horrible migraines (dr is not too concerned about it) my appetite seems to have increased and I gained 7 lbs in 2 weeks. I increased my protein and veggies to offset this. I used a few extra exercise caloried,…

Filling People in on Weight Already Lost
Hi all. I'm having a touchy situation at work. I've been at my current job for almost 2 years, and only maybe the 5 people in my office know that I was heavier than when I started work them (I was maintaining when I started, lost 15 while there, 70 total lost). So the other people on my floor assume I was always the size I…

Weekend IF
Hi everyone. I inadvertently started IF on weekends because of sleeping in late followed by fasting exercise, usually ending around 1pm. I found that it helps keep my calories in check on weekends. Will this, combined with keeping to my deficit during the week, be good enough to help my weight loss start up again? Weekends…

Wt loss set at .5 lbs, still hungry
Hi. I set my wt loss at . 5 lbs, which gave me 1370 calories. I'm 5'3", 145 lbs. I'm still hungry. I'm switching from WW. I think I'm still used to the Weeklies and free fruit and veggies. How do I get used to less calories?

1200 to 1500 calorie menus
Can anyone suggest any books or websites that have family and budget friendly 1200 to 1500 calories menus? I get emails for weekly menu plans from Eating Light, but my family isn't as thrilled with the whole "eating clean" concept as I am. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Don't understand Libra trend
Hi. In a nutshell, the trend says I'm losing slowly over time but my goal keeps moving further away. Will I ever reach it? Does this confirm what I suspect- WW SP program isn't too effective for producing the loss I want (but it's good for maintaining). The best losing trend seemed to occur when I was counting calories…

Recomposition and hernias: what if I can't lift heavy?
I'm 3 weeks into recovery from double umbilical hernia surgery. I have no idea how they happened, they just became apparent as my body fat got lower. My surgeon gave me the okay to do cardio, but told me to start weight training in another 6 weeks as long as I don't lift anything heavier than 15 lb dumbells. I'm 5'3", 138…

Restaurant help
Is there a way to look up calories by restaurant name on this database? Like all foods grouped under restaurant name instead of individually? Trying to find lowest calorie choice at a particular chain. Thanks.

Why isn' t my fitbit registering my calories?

Another Measuring question
Is measuring food in ounces acceptable? Or only grams? Not all foods are listed in gram measurements, only by ounces. Also when I cook from a recipe, the serving sizes are often broken down into calories by cup measurement . I'm pretty sure if I just weigh it, I could get the gram/ ounce weight of the serving then quick…

Measuring question
I weigh meats, fruit, veggies, and foods that need to get measured to the gram (jelly, PB, ice cream, etc) on a food scale. But for things like rice, cereal , yogurt and pasta I still use 1 cup and half cup measuring cups. Is there really that much of a difference if I were to weigh these to the ounce (4oz serving by…
