Measuring question

I weigh meats, fruit, veggies, and foods that need to get measured to the gram (jelly, PB, ice cream, etc) on a food scale. But for things like rice, cereal , yogurt and pasta I still use 1 cup and half cup measuring cups. Is there really that much of a difference if I were to weigh these to the ounce (4oz serving by weight for example) on a scale as opposed to a 4oz, half cup measurement?

Weigh it, as the measuring cup could equal 5 oz

There is a big difference for me, I tend to always weigh things on my scale.

Rice and pasta should be weighed especially, you can cram a lot in a cup.
Dry cereal can settle (like flour) so it's pretty easy to get a denser cup of cereal.

You might be okay with volume measurements on yogurt, but why dirty a measuring cup if you can just weigh your portion?
