Yes, in 5'10 and 38 years old

Are you on medications? That could contribute to weight gain. Also, after surgery, your body holds onto a lot of fluids. Take it easy and I'm sure the weight will begin to come off again. Surgery is a major trauma for the body so be patient.

Your sarcasm is not useful to anyone here.

I'm not a meat eater so doing a carb free diet is not something I could ever do. I'm just talking about skipping the rice or crackers I usually eat with singer because I love my carbs. Tonight I had red snapper. I put in to lose a pound a week and MFP gave me 1200 cals. But I've been losing slower than that. I picked a…

That's strange. I got 1200 again. I also put in for a sedentary lifestyle since I'm at a desk from 8 to 6 everyday. Anyway I do go over 1200 but usually still within my exercise cals. I have been losing at about a rate of 1/2 lb a week which has felt super slow. But then after a few days in which I ate a bit over my limit…

I did pick a 1/2 pound a week weight loss and 1200 calories is what it gave me.

Just to be clear, I've been at this for almost two months with about 15lbs to lose. I started at 165 pounds at 5 foot 10. I don't have a huge amount to lose and have lost just under 5 lbs so far. MFP a put me at 1200 calories so that's why im following it. Also, I could never cut out carbs completely. I'm just talking…

I Started at 165 but I'm taller than you at 5 foot 10. In one month I've only lost 3.5lbs on 1200 a day. It's coming off very slowly but at least it's coming off. Trying to get down to 145-150.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I'm 38 years old. Maybe this has something to do with my metabolism slowing down? As I said, the hardest thing is for me to add activity to offset all the hours I spend on my butt at work or in my car commuting. I enjoy my long aftetnoon walks because it clears my head. I used to run but…

Thanks. I've had a full physical and have no thyroid or any such issues including PCOS, fortunately.
-
Thanks so much. What workouts do you do and at what frequency?
-
I don't mean gaining that weight now as much as I mean in the past. For example, a few years ago I broke my foot so I was off my feet for two months and i gained twenty pounds in that time eating the same as always (maybe just a few more Stacey's chips!). I lost those twenty once life went back to normal. But now I'm…

I know it's frustrating. I wonder if I should try to do even fewer carbs?
-
Yes, I've become very diligent about logging everything. It was a hard habit to get into by I've been fully committed. I eat back about half my exercise calories on average. Sometimes a bit more. Sometimes less.
-
Yes, I've seen this chart before. Thanks.

Well, I am one of this people who gain five pounds in a day so I do get impatient. I have been plugging away at it but as I have lost weight more quickly in the past with what seemed like less effort, I am left a bit puzzled. I'm still sticking wit the MFP a plan but I see others losing weight much easier and I wonder if…

Thanks. The four miles I put on is walking, and it takes me about an hour and a half. Can you tell me what your workout schedule is and what type of exercise you do? I'm curious. Thanks again.

I define results as weight loss or visible results in the body

I never said they did. You will notice I said that I did zumba for a year and saw no results when it was my primary form of exercise. I added that women who had very impressive physiques also did not rely on it as their sole form of exercise. Which is why I advised for the original poster to supplement.
-
As for stats, I'm a 5 foot 10 female. Currently weigh 163 pounds and trying to get to 145-150.
-
I had a lot of fun doing zumba for about a year but stopped as I saw zero results from it. I noticed the super fit ladies i saw in class were also doing zumba only for fun after completing much more strenuous workouts like running or biking or tennis or boot camps. These were women who put in three hours of working out a…

Yes, I do. I try to eat low salt but I swell up for days after a work out too
-
Every morning before eating or drinking anything.

I buy an organic olive oil cooking spray from Whole Foods just because it makes it easier to get even distribution when I'm cooking in pots or pans. For salads and things like that, I use bottled olive oil

The Sworkit app is good for giving exercise routines. My favorite workout dvd is Physique 57.

I'm 5 foot 10 and I have been from 130 lbs to almost 160lbs wearing the exact same pant size

Yes, I did bump it up and saw a gain right away so I sort of panicked and decided to cut back on the intensity though I'm still walking a lot. I guess it comes with age but I can't help think back to my younger days when is lose weight so easily and quickly. Now it feels like one wrong move bumps me up two or three pounds…

Thanks everyone. The math of this is so confusing but I try to estimate my activity level very conservatively to leave a margin of error. I'm dialing back my rigorous exercise too because I heard it causes water retention. I'm 5 foot 10 and in the past my weight at this height has sat confortably at 140 (8 years ago) and…

Yes, I weigh myself every morning, post bathroom, no clothes on.

I am using the exact food scale in this photo
