@JaneKnoll1, are you near a WalMart? Their Relion strips are pretty affordable. That is a nice level for fasting. Keep up the good work.

the ones at Costco are addicting. no carbs, big calories. yum

I experience this, no solution. I tried one of the Extend bars, a slowly releasing over 6 hrs or so, eating protein, etc right before sleeping but nothing has helped so far. The only thing that some have success with is a slow release insulin. Fortunately I have lower numbers (although they still need to decrease) and have…

My naturopathic doctor recommend a magnesium fulvic kind that does not cause diarrhea. It is a liquid. Also Megazyme is an excellent product that helps digest your food. My mom found it helped relieve pain she lived with for years. Best wishes on figuring out what works well.

great..I will have to find those. Also, how did you get net carbs on the diary?

117 should be lower based on yesterday's diet and exercise.

I have been off diet and not checking my glucose for too long. Starting again... 126 this morning. Not ideal. It may have a relationship to overall weight. Gain back 10 lbs, gain 10 glucose value.

Agreed, the Walmart meter is as cheap as you can find without insurance.

Lot of great suggestions here, but I wanted to caution you on one item: if you let someone other than your spouse take your kid to an appointment, make sure the medical place will let you. My kids' doc had a release form if someone other than custodial parent would be bringing a child for an appointment. If this is…

Welcome! I am glad you are willing to ask for help  that's a very hard thing to do, but you did it! I believe you have to listen to your body and figure out what works well for you and makes you feel well. That is as unique as the way God made you and it may take a while to learn but this is for sure... there is a…

114 higher than I expected since I added more metformin before bed. Hmmm....
-
125... not entirely sure why though. It seems as if the generic ER Metformin are not consistent with results. At least this batch? Ones from a different pharmacy seemed more reliable. Anyone else experience this?

It appears that the ADA has a higher threshold of acceptable glucose than others' and what they recommend might cause long term damage. But 5.4 seems good. My doc wanted to take me off meds at that level, but going off meds would not allow me to be at that level, so I am continuing on them. Probably lower numbers…

Also look at your liver health and consider Source Natural's SAM-e. Not the Nature Made which did not help. Other one did. Ignore the Feistycat, who doesn't get it.

Your first investment might be a food thermos. If heated with hot water before you fill it, then dump water, and fill with HOT item, your hot item will stay hot for quite a few hours. Second investment would be a set of icepacks to keep your cold stuff safe. I am sorry to not give you recommendations other than jerky and…

What kind of carb count are you aiming for? Do you like to cook? bake? I just made this and while not totally low, it is way lower than most breads. And it is yummy! http://blog.radiantlifecatalog.com/bid/63843/Organic-Coconut-Flour-Zucchini-Bread

How mean is it if I wish this on my adulterous ex-husband?

The article mentions two subs for xanathan gum, one being glucomannin. It is at the bottom of the drool worthy images. Thanks for sharing. I guess I know what I'll be ordering from Amazon next.
