@biketheworld My favorite outside exercises are my favorite type of exercise. Hiking in the desert is what I am looking forward to when I return to Phoenix, Arizona in November. Right now, it’s farm and horse activities. Today’s report: A 3 yes day. Exercise was a minimal but important 27 minutes of active stretching…

@LazyBlondeChef Thanks for your salute to those who are working. I’ve been working part-time since March 20, 2020. I’ll soon be mostly retired. I join you in thanks to those who keep things going and for those who care for us in stores and restaurants.

@donna25trinity Thanks for sharing your Health Hacks. For me the most important health hack is investing enough time and thoughtfulness to create a habit of exercise and tracking. Today, I chose to go over my calorie limit. I still tracked my intake and output.

Exercise: horseback riding; training; farm activities and active stretching ( more than 3 hours) Tracking: good Calories were under my limit but I did get careless and became dehydrated. Sometimes when having fun in the sun, I forget to hydrate

The weather has been perfect here at the farm. Exercise: nothing like hand raking a 60’ diameter round pen. I needed to fill in the divots left by a bucking horse. He had not been saddled for two years. It was quite a rodeo. He was more calm today and he will be even more calm tomorrow. Nonetheless that raking was whole…

Today’s report Exercise: active stretching for 27 minutes; walking and working in the sand for 60 minutes Tracking: good Calories: over my limit, but I tracked it all. Pass day 3.

For the last few years, lumbar back problems have been sometimes caused physical pain and limited activity. Starting each day with active stretching has helped me to prevent or recover. This morning after my opening stretching, my back felt “open”. That is my NSV! Later in the day, I was able to work with horses and have…

@Mrs_Hoffer Thanks for the mid-month Shout Out! That is a great idea. Exercise: 75 minutes of early morning farm activities Tracking: good Calories: well below my limit It’s been fun to be working with my horses again. Rose has noticed that I am a much happier person when I have been with the horses

Exercise: first day in a long time that I spent 2 hours working with 2 different horses in a 60’ diameter round pen. It can be exhausting and joyful to be dancing with horses in the sand of a round pen. In addition, 27 minutes of active stretching at the break of day Calories: under my limit Tracking: good

@LazyBlondeChef Here is a “rule within a rule” that is the hardest for me: Track right away after any calorie intake. Today’s report… Exercise: more than 4 hours of walking ( but I only count 3 hours for calories output) Tracking: really good Calories: under my limit

@LeeH31 Thanks for today’s opening post!!! I’ve always been a great fan of Zig Ziglar. Yesterday was a Pass day ( it was my decision to overeat pizza). Today, I was back on track. Exercise: primarily walking and farm chores Calories: under my limit even though I attended a birthday party Tracking: good and it was done…

I rarely weigh in. When my overall trend of calories and exercise are positive, my weight either holds steady or falls. My belt’s tightness keeps me honest. Over the last 12 months, I’ve dropped 2” at the belt line. Only problem is that my pants don’t fit. Today was a 3 yes day. I’ve spent hours in movement due to the…

@Jana_2020 Thanks for today’s discussion opening post! Today’s report Exercise: more than 2 hours of farm activities and walking Tracking: easy since I was so involved in farm chores that I overlooked breakfast and had a very modest lunch. Fortunately, I did not blow it in the evening.

@SummerSkier Weight loss has not been possible with exercise alone. On the other hand, muscle strength, flexibility and cardio strength are the result of appropriate exercise. The UAC is founded on a truly healthy foundation built on both elements.

A beautiful late summer day at the farm: Exercise: lots of farm chores and walking for more than 90 minutes Tracking: good Calories: surprisingly low

Back home from my two-day funeral driving tour of 1,100 miles. A 3 yes day. No Winner's Circle for me, but it's been a good month. I've kept my weight at the lowest level in 3 decades.
