  • You sound like you are starting out on a rough spot. List out your reasons why you want to lose weight and start with some basic goals. I suggest *drink 8 glasses of water a day *eat breakfast *move more. Start with small, measured, reasonable goals and you will be much more likely to continue with your weight loss.
  • My brother in law who is average weight but still had high cholesterol was able to bring out down by eating oatmeal everyday.
  • Peeps, they have to be the yellow chicks. Pure sugar!
  • Oatmeal is great, can do plenty of mix ins like apples, banana a couple nuts. Always filling.
  • I have a Pinterest saying pinned that I believe to be true. It takes 4 weeks for you to notice, 8 weeks for friends and family and 12 weeks for co workers and acquaintances.
  • Yes bf is great for that, so once you wean baby you will have to remember to wean yourself off that many calories. I bf and remember snacking all day which may have become a habit for you, just something to be aware of to help continue the weight loss.
  • I feel you, I was faithful on documenting addl my food and stayed at my goal, worked out3times this week and nothing! Everyone has great advice but I am just as frustrated as you. Now my pity party is over I will take everyone's advice and get back at it.
  • First I suggest you change your language about yourself, you are not disgusting. You are a human with issues and guess what every other human has issues too. Your issues happen to be food related like most others here on MFP. Research some information about binge eating disorder, see if you might have this issue.
  • Because of my schedule I also eat dinner before my workout and about 100 calorie snack after the workout later in the evening. I would suggest looking at pintrest and do freezer meals or crock pot meals for your dinners. As a working mom I use these about4times a week its a real life saver.
  • It sounds like you just started out recently, its common to eat way under the calories the first few days. It shows your dedication and motivation. Just remember that when you need to eat all your calories and measure your food. Good luck.
  • [quote= http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/[/quote] This link lays out why exersice does help reduce blood sugar levels.
  • I was also pre diabetic and exersice does help, I don't claim to know the science behind it but exersicing helps keep your sugar levels down, maybe it kicks in your pancreas? Do some online research about this. With your hours working you should be able to fit 30 minutes of walking in, start small you will feel the…
  • A very inspiring story now I want to see pics...keep up the great work!
  • I don't really think this is wives tales as much as most people mindless eat later in the evening. Like watching tv and next thing you know your through a bag of chips. But no eating at any time of the day the calories are the same.
  • Lucky I am hosting this year, so we are having Turkey chili and baked potato with all kinds of different toppings, a good mix of calorie conscious and some not so much, like melty cheese and tortilla chips. I plan on small breakfast and log what I eat. Oh and I guess there will be a football game on too
  • You really should use the MFP calorie suggestion, if the first few weeks you only eat 1200 calories that's great but over time you might find that too restrictive so those days eat how much the app suggests. You can do it!
  • Get started with those number of calories and see how it goes, it seems right to me with your staying weight and activity level numbers. I would not worry about exersice the first weeks you will figure out when to add that's you go. Keep logging and check in here for support on crazy days, you can do it.
  • Yes trying to eat healthy on the go is a project. But remember fruits are the best portable snacks, apples bananas, oranges are my recent favorites. My husband loves mini cucumbers to eat as a potable snack. He also is on the go all day and looks for ideas.
  • So true after about a month of weighing yourself you will see where you retain water.
  • Now that it is cold out I drink hot tea after dinner, usually a cinnamon flavor it helps my sweet tooth. I don't want to eat treats daily so this really helps.
  • Also in my experience women retain water during ovulation. Time of day and which scale you use does matter. Best practice is to weight on same scale at same time of day wearing similar clothing. Good luck don't give up!
  • I did weight watchers last year, I lost 25 pounds it does work. But I am now doing MFP because it is very similar program, log what you eat, make healthy choices, move more, but going to meetings gave me a lot of info that sorting through online would be difficult. Now that I have that basic knowledge and my hubby is doing…
  • Great job! I needed to here this today too, thanks for posting
  • This is exactly me. And If I switch breakfast I get hungry quickly.
  • Tonight Meatless Monday: Mexican mess, I make Mexican rice, pinto beans, refried black beans, cheese and all other toppings and the family gets to decide how to build their dinner Tuesday: salmon with baked potato and spaghetti squash Wednesday: black pepper chicken with red peppers, its like an Asian flavor, served over…
  • My go to is steel cut oats with dried fruit and a tablespoon brown sugar.
  • You can do it, your sleep schedule does need to get as regular as possible. Once that is figured out if you are still tired all the time see your doc and have your thyroid checked, that was my problem. I suggest start small, even if you just switch your fast foodchoice for better choices, eat slower etc . educate yourself…
  • I know the feeling. Try to just think positive thoughts and start over. It can be difficult and some people can say some less than helpful advice on here as has been my experience. Tomorrow is a new day.
  • Also you should look at the scale you are weighing on, from my experience not all home bathroom scales will work at your starting weight. Either use the one at the gym or look at buying a new one.
  • Portion control will really help. I would want to taste the food while you are there, if its a once in a lifetime trip, but just a taste. Slowly savor a higher calorie food and then fill up on vegetables.
