I noticed I could buckle my pants again after losing 20 pounds. At 30 pounds, my face slimmed and people asked if I had lost weight. At 40 pounds lost, my pants became baggy, so I bought all new clothes just one size too small, and they lasted for 25 more pounds lost. After 100 pounds lost, nobody even recognized me.…

Kale has tons of protein...when you chop it and serve it over salmon or include it in a smoothie with greek yogurt. . Seriously, protein has never been my issue. I get that easily. Veggies are my challenge. I detest all veggies which is why I juice.

I rest my body in sections by laying off certain routines. If I hit the free weights, I rest from free weights for 4 days while I hike, bike or swim. If I train MMA, I rest from that 2 days while I might play tennis, perform calisthenics, dance or jump on a trampoline. And so on...

In my own diet, it's kale...and I juice it with some other fruits and veggies, then blend back in some of the pulp. I detest veggies otherwise and just will not eat them. No matter what my mix is, kale is a staple. It's very nutritious and cheap.

I do some compound lifts that include core, but I also perform sit-ups, planks and hanging leg raises. It's a simple area to hit.

I feel you. It can seem a bit much moving ahead with new habits. It's worth it - trust me! The key is consistency. Eat right, exercise and log your foods and exercises every day. Simple but hard! Don't be deterred by anything, including the occasional fail. You can do this, and you know you want to feel good, look your…

I had weeks like this, and we must measure more than mere weight. Take body measurements, and please, give this more time. There may be moments when adjustments are needed in your program, but for now, keep going. The key is consistency. Eat right, exercise and log your foods and exercises every day. Don't be deterred by…

Being healthy is the "why". That's a benefit money can't purchase, and even if it could, I'd never sell it. Health and fitness gives us a life second to none where we feel great, look our best and live well into old age.

I look at tipping as an investment in the quality of service I receive. Workers know me, and they know I tip well. I value the effort they put in and show it in a tangible way. This is why I never have to wait in line when we eat out or stand with the herd at a lawn concert. When I buy auto parts, the manager comes out and…

Everything! This is my go to oil for cooking.

I cut out breads and processed foods with good results. There is nothing more satisfying than nutritionally dense food, and as is said "you are what you eat". I want optimal health and peak fitness, so that means proper diet and hard, smart exercise. It's simple. Good Luck! :)

There is no such thing as a 1 day failure... :) We all lose our way - especially at first. The road of success is paved with the stones of failure. NEVER GIVE UP!

My road to "One-Derland" meant 79 lbs lost, and I will never forget that morning when I saw 199.3 No other weigh-in invoked more emotion, because I had long since given up the notion that I'd ever see the 190's again. Even when I hit my final goal of 180, the feeling of achievement was not as great. Good Luck Everybody!

It's great, but they do not allow live sparring. I need to get in that ring a go with an opponent - not a bag.

Losing weight, I needed that weekly cheat day. It kept me sane, and I got results. As progress developed, my diet and cheat meals got tighter and tighter. The higher our goals, the cleaner we must eat, but there is never any reason to go full food Nazi. Good luck!

Welcome, and you already have a key hold on the importance of marketing when it comes to being a fitness professional. People will judge you on how you can translate knowledge into personal results. BELIEVE IT!

I work core 6 days per week. I do NOT want those muscles growing big, so it's a near daily routine with high reps and a spectrum of exercises including planks, sit-ups and hanging leg raises.

I know when I ingest junk foods high in sugar, something happens, and my body and mind react badly. Maybe most people do not have this reaction, and bully for them. I cut out most processed foods, breads and all sugars except those in fruit. For whatever reason, I do not have that reaction when I eat fruit. I have heard…

Thank you professor...it's always an interesting class... :)

I wanted to be precise and weighed everything. It's a control issue. Over time, I stopped weighing, because calorie estimates just became second nature. I even stopped logging altogether after years of daily faithfulness. I lost 100 pounds and have maintained the loss for almost 3 years now. I have not logged foods for…

Getting started just weigh everything, and it time all this will become second nature.

My bad; this is good though. Eat clean and with a slight surplus. Go slow. And remember to rest those muscles as that is key to growth and solid weight gain. So many guys don't get that. When I hit the weights, I need a solid 4 days to recover. On that strength training day, I begin with HIIT as a morning warm up, then hit…

It could very well be that you need more rest days. When it comes to strength training, sometimes less is more :) Listen to your body. When I hit the weights, I need a solid 4 days to recover. On that strength training day, I begin with HIIT as a morning warm up, then hit lower body and again after lunch, targeting upper…

I cut out breads and processed foods with added sugar. I just can't eat those in moderation like some can. Bully for them. It made a huge difference in my results over time.

My pooh was this loud, runny sludge like jello pudding with small lumps of chocolate covered raisins. And if I was sick, it looked like loaded potato and kale soup with cheddar croutons and sweet corn. You could hear me from next door. After reclaiming my health, my BM is normal, and by normal..think of a nice quiet and…

YUK That diet sounds miserable. I;d fail too. How about giving MFP a try? I lost 100 pounds and kept it off 3 years now. Check out how this works. GOOD LUCK! :) http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177907/most-helpful-posts-getting-started-must-reads#latest
