That's most of the herd. I just don't get it. The reasons are usually crash dieting with unsustainable eating habits which stifle metabolism, wreck lean body mass and weaken the will. I lost 100 pounds and have maintained going on 3 years. Maintenance is every bit as challenging as losing the weight, but so worth it. The…

Right, no matter what we call it, at day's end, you're either in a slight deficit or you're not. Mindful eating sounds cool so long as it produces results.

I have to weigh the empty calories from booze against the exercise burn I get running from the cops. It's all about balance...

Right, everybody knows this, but it's worth it! It's best to serve them with an angioplasty balloon catheter ...

Yea! Who said that?

"They" are pure wicked...just like in the movie!

haha - sign me up! :D

People get offended when their food religion is challenged. Of course cookies are not the healthiest food to eat, but remember, life is also to be lived. Could you go the rest of your life off tofu wrapped in seaweed and thrice dipped in carrot juice? :s We make cookies using various recipes that shift the health odds a…

Some see little value in cardio, because all it does is greatly strengthen your heart and lungs which lengthens and adds to the quality of life. Who needs that in a bulking cycle?

Oh dude, so sorry... B)

OUCH!

It all started when I was born in a wagon in this traveling show...

EPIC!!! I just sprinkled my keyboard with the tea I was drinking...lol

It's only the law of attraction - not the creation of miracles... :p

I enjoy the concept of "like attracts like". Since transforming my health, my fat friends have drifted away...and I have made new connections with others of common interest. It's been nice. As for the whole movement, who knows? I am always wary of anything too popular with gurus making millions off gullible members of the…

Indeed you are! Great progress and inspiring results trump the best debate points.

Dude, if I did that, that pitched ball would swoosh past me and STRIKE! :o Huh? What happened? As for my own such issues, I found the more I perform, the less emotional I become. We learn by doing. The more I play, the more relaxed I am. GOOD LUCK! :)

Define it any way you like. At day's end we are the fruit of our own philosophy. :)

I used to kill myself cutting 7 pounds over 2 days, and in today's MMA, 7 pounds is cut in 4 hours. THAT'S INSANE! The double edge sword is a fight weight closer to your training weight where you balance strength with speed and coordination given the trade off with mega weight cuts. Only you can decise this. The science of…

Of course...except when I drink too much. :o In such cases, I just log in all booze swilled to excess as "organic green tea with honey". It makes me feel more saintly! o:)

I noticed this years ago when I first made the switch from regular soda to diet. This was long before people were talking about this issue. I just thought it was me. Truth has a way of coming out over time, and now we're learning more about the possible health consequences of these fake sugars. Poison? Probably not...but…

No, if you're cool with it, so am I. Your health goals are your own, so eat and enjoy. It helps me to call the stuff junk, because it falls outside my definition of "clean eating" -->> lean meats, fish, fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, whole grained, home baked stuff, beans, raw, whole dairy and whole eggs. That's the ideal…

Clean Eating? I define it as...lean meats, fish, fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, whole grained, home baked stuff, beans, raw, whole dairy and whole eggs. I needed an ideal to strive toward: clean eating! I eat this way 70% of the time - close enough. And my results are stellar to reflect very high goals regarding peak…

I made two changes that transformed my health and gave me the physical and emotional energy to lose weight. I reduced processed foods and focused on eating whole foods...and I bought a juicer and force fed myself fruits and veggies. If was a few months later I began logging my food intake on MFP...and the journey began. It…

First, let's call fast food what it really is: junk! It's mostly empty calories from highly processed foods that are just unhealthy. I go to KFC, McD, Burger King, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut...or wherever...you name it... >:) ...and it's never to eat healthy. It's a fabulous treat and an enjoyable experience where I celebrate…

Same here. I need to see those exercise calories building up which is my ticket to eat well. Also, if I blow my daily goals, I can get out and make some of it up and see the difference. Whatever works for you, but I prefer the MFP way.
-
Yes, I eat much less, but my daily calorie intake today is still around 4000 calories. I EAT BIG! :) The major difference is the quality of my food intake. Whole foods dense in nutrition are my primary focus with sprinklings of junk-like processed treats here and there. I believe in clean eating - lean meats, fresh fruits…

I gave up soda years ago with zero regrets. Diet sodas make me nervous given all the information coming out about these artificial, man-made sweeteners. NO THANKS! I prefer my own tea, but in a pinch, I like Honest Tea varieties - especially Green Tea with Honey. Is this any better than soda? Maybe...a 16 oz Cola has 200…

I enjoy the notion of IIFIYM up to a point. It gives me flexibility to eat that twinkie smeared in jelly and wrapped with bacon. >:) Sometimes I just want to eat bad only to have something fabulous, junkie and - well, fabulous! What we don't escape is the reality that empty calories do not add to our health or wellness. If…
