wow! You certainly deserve first place!

Having experience in the eating disorder area and having worked with counselors and nutritionists and having recovered (and gained weight but trying to lose weight the right way) it seems to me that your nutritionist has made a mistake by telling you to restrict a nutrient when you already have disordered and unhealthy…

When you say apple shape all I can think is that you must have great legs! Emphasize them in the meantime. And congratulations on losing 43 pounds. That is absolutely fantastic!

If you are serious about losing weight and getting healthy, you will have to start cooking. It doesn't have to be difficult or gourmet. Do you not like cooking because of the time involved or waiting to eat? There are days when I don't want to cook (esp. in the summer) and I do sandwiches and salads. If it's winter, soup…

Thanks for all the advice. I am going to look up Geneen Roth. Unfortunately, it's the type of stress I can't eliminate, so I'll have to learn to cope.

Wow. So sorry to hear about your friend and your dog. Terrible losses. You have my condolences. Thanks for the advice about the weight lifting. I will try to get more in. Just thought the cardio would burn more calories. I had a weekend of stress eating - family issues, but I am going back on the wagon tomorrow with…

I'm not expert, but why don't you try eating more at your 3 meals (400 calories for breakfast, 500 for lunch, and 600 for dinner) and then having PLANNED snacks (150 calories each). Many people say protein rich meals help keep them satiated. For me, I used to try all sorts of diets, then I realized, I should just eat what…

The food itself doesn't but the volume I ate does disgust me. And some of my tastes have changed - cookies I used to love now taste too processed.

Really inspiring story and you look truly fantastic! I really love the fact that you did it without much cardio.

Amazing! You look fantastic!

Wow! You look great and what an inspiration!

The body is an amazing machine, but from what I have read here, weight loss is calories in, calories out and it doesn't matter when you eat the calories. Try accurately tracking your calories for a while by weighing and measuring your food. I just started this and there is a 20-30% difference in the actual number of…

Congratulations. I think you were beautiful before and after! Your weight loss is inspiring!

Welcome and good luck to you. Sounds like you have one of the best motivations possible, which is a huge part of being successful.

Weigh and measure your food. And remember that calorie burn for exercises are estimates. When I am at the gym and the treadmill says I have burned 100 calories, I really only think of it as 75 calories just to be on the safe side.

super inspiring!!

Just a question...are you watching carbs for health reasons - diabetes or pre-diabetes? If no, then why not just look at the calories instead of carbs? Just asking. I'm here to learn!

I have the same problem. Even though I am busy and have lots to do, some things are just boring. You could save some calories for the boredom eating. Or make sure if you do eat it's low calorie. Also, make sure you are eating enough because it's harder to fight off this type of eating if you really are hungry. Keep note…

Major congratulations! Remarkable achievement so far!

Congratulations! You inspired me!

These are all good ideas. Also, make sure you are eating enough calories. If you ARE actually physically hungry it is harder to manage the emotional eating. Make a list of things you like to do...hobbies, pinterest, watching movies, talking to friends. Make a list of foods you will allow yourself to eat that won't lead you…

How do you lost 50 lbs (or 30 or 60 or whatever)? ...............One pound at a time! Good start.

Behaviour changes before attitude. Make yourself go for a short walk. Offer to walk a friend's dog. Tell yourself you will make one small change today. Find other foods that you really enjoy. Track your food intake. Read these forums for motivation and ideas. You are worth the effort.

I can relate. Really. But it's all in your head. If you have food in the house that you find hard to manage, get rid of it. Plan your meals in advance and stick to it. If you must have a treat, keep it in your calorie allowance. Just get a bit tough with yourself and remind yourself several times a day why you want to lose…

I really enjoy my gym. I look forward to going and do different things every time I go. As long as I am doing something, I am burning calories and strengthening my body. Maybe in the future I'll get more serious and get a program. I also like the machines that have the TV in them. I have a treadmill at home, but the gym…

*light bulb moment*

It's Aug 9, but can I join now? No eating after dinner. Starting today.
-
Thank you. I needed that. You're right.

As much as possible, although as I read more about losing weight and the importance of protein, I am thinking of adding it back.

Great work! Really good results!
