  • 16lb down from Jan 1 to today. Slower than I want but definitely in the right direction.
  • Well done what a milestone
  • After shedding 75lb I finally had a professional bra fitting to go with the new wardrobe. Walked in as an ex-size 28 when I started the WOE, walked out with a size 18. On my way til next new wardrobe and underwater spree.

  • Really miss the berries. Have them as a treat about 1once a month as fruit is a trigger for me. After 8 months still getting my head past the many years of having 2-3 pieces of fruit a day. My body dosnt miss it, just my mind
  • 2.5 minutes is a long time. So well done. 8. months ago I could only hope for 5 minute walks - go 2.5 minutes from my front door and then return back home. Now 8 months later (and 76lbs less) I can walk for over 2 hours straight. Just built it up an extra 2.5 minutes each way every day. So 2.5 minutes is such a special…
  • Welcome Sue from another Sue. You are not alone here. Many supportive honest friends who have personally supported me in the ups and downs. LCHF is unique for us all and the amount of non judgemental help is extensive. Welcom
  • I don't know that book - will check it out. I am currently reading Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore is easy to read, details studies and many medical successes. Also read The art and science of low carb living by Volek & Phinney - this could be said to be the text book of LC. A good read for a Dr or Nurse with lots of science.…
  • Another great result changing the statistics on LCarb living
  • Thanks - just saw Doctor - not kidney stones - it is a UTI. No other symptoms except the saw kidneys - havnt had a UTI for 25 years - now for treatment.
  • I started what I called a LC but is now very different 8 months later. There is so many variations & macro splits within the category of LC. This is why I love LC as we can all find what works for our own body, lifestyle, tastes etc and make it a long term lifestyle. @rddennison hope you have found a woe you can slot into.
  • Also my 30th wedding anniversary. Celebrated with seafood buffet dinner (my 1st in 8 months since being LC). Went there thinking I will eat whatever I want. I actually automatically chose LC, didn't over eat but chose some desert and couldn't eat it. All in all a good learning night for me. Buffets not an issue now. Then…
  • I do. Need to have calories count as they are normally low
  • I'm n for more friends low carb
  • I love learning something new every day. Thanks I'll claim this for today.
  • If weighing daily is discouraging you think about changing to weekly. I'm sure your post would have been different if you saw an overall loss of 7lb for the week. That's a true celebration. Well done. I'm a very big girl & have never had weekly loss that big.
  • I avoid grains too for my carb goals. An alternative for rice is cauliflower rice. It is similar to the consistency of rice, feels like a filler for any meal, healthy & low carb. The recipes are on Google. If u can't find something ask one of us for the recipe.
  • I do weigh daily only to learn how my body works. I also use happy scale to get my average. Even if I have a scale gain the moving average goes DOWN. I have never had the moving average go up, never. So I then don't worry about the up fluctuations, as long as my moving average keeps going down. And my graph of actual…
  • Know how you feel. Went to Macdonalds for 1st time & did bunless. It felt so liberating actually.
  • Oh dear, cannot do either marmite or vegemite, but my family loves loves vegemite. I cannot tolerate it looks like road tar & feels like it to me. HOWEVER did crave it when I was pregnant but on fresh white bread!!!!!!
  • Congratulations of testing positive. The depth of the positive is not important at all. You are either in Ketosis or out of Ketosis. If it is too deep it may mean you are dehydrated which will bring you more probs like Keto flu. Your level is perfect. Very healthy and exciting for you. Some people cannot use the stick as…
  • I agree, I too think this is the way of eating for me. But I know LC is the one, as it is the only time in my 53 year old life I have stuck to something this long (7months) and lost more than 10lbs - now 75lb this morning. Every time I started a diet I thought what would be different that time was my will power. It is not…
  • Your answer is no I eat healthy.
  • I'm IF more now automatically after I've been in ketisis. Just listen to your body and log everything. It is so easy to forget what you did last week when you are trying things out, or wondering if you should tweek your %s, or when you want to kick a stall or plateau. You are in the right place. LCHF is not a short term…
  • Totally! I couldn't believe it when she said she'd never seen an avocado, and yet Mexican food is her fav. You may recall that she said, "Oh, that must be the green stuff!" I assume she meant Guacamole; and this woman is an EDUCATOR! I grieve for her students...and the future of our society as a whole. I can't believe I've…
  • I have researched and now brewed my own kumbucha. Love the taste & would explain it the same as Dan. My 2nd batch is just about ready. My 1st batch was great, a huge success. This batch I did 10 black tea bags & added one low carb berry tea. It has a pink tinge now. I only use organic tea & know what is in it. Will be…
  • I have a digital scale. Weigh every morning and put in Happy scale but only put in MFP weekly. If I don't do that I forget to weigh on Monday mornings. This way it is a habit 1st thing every morning.
  • Add me. Doing this for 7 months. Shed 70lb. LCHF
  • Great to see someone who has stuck it out for so long. Gives me hope that I can stick to it for the long haul.
  • I've just read your blog @ki4eld. I'm a chicken for operations so when my Dr asked in June 15 if I would consider surgery I said no. But only thought about the original op & never thought about what you have gone through "forever" as you say. Yes, my road is also a forever road but a totally different type of challenges.…
