I eat when I'm hungry.

Not mch science to it. I like things to be simple and duplicatable. It was a fat fast you could say - my version, little bit of lean protein in only 1 meal, aimed for only traces of carbs all day (totalled 7g a day) lots and lots of water til I sloshed. Salted anything standing still that I could stomach. Calories were 500…

I didn't fast but went very low carb & within 1 day in traces of ketosis.

What a great measurement to show how you achieved. Well done for sticking at it. I just had my 1st body scan done this week. Nothing to compare it to yet but I have some figures now. Wish I did it 27kg (59lbs) ago to compare now. Not in regret though as this is a long journey for me so plenty of opportunities to compare…

Love the "get-me-out-of-here" motivation & totally relate to it as I'm only in the beginning of my journey & weekly figures are big & constant

During a 3 week plateau, my nutritionist who is LCHF positive, warned me as a female to not have less than 1500 cal a day or my body can go into starvation mode. I just cannot eat that amount of cals, so instead I did a fast which kicked me out of the plateau at that time & did again in another plateau. I'm learning about…

I've totally missed the thred and the poll. I must have been hiding under a rock.

I don't know if I can face my own old way of eating carb amounts . But what is interesting is I just googled what the standard recommended amount of carbs is, result is 225-325g a day. If you want to loose weight they recommend 150g a day. Now that's the scarey figures. My carb intake in the past is history - but this is…

No probs with more friends so feel free. Been on ketosis LCHF <25g for 4 months. Shed 27kg (59lb) in total

I don't have time to also go thru the general forums. I need to stay focused on what is good for me at present as my journey is so long. I was also brainwashed for the last 40 years since I was 10 the CICO and low fat was the way to go. I'm so glad I now have another alternative. There is so much to learn that I'm not…

Shame you don't know someone else who's also got family a long way away so u can be with them & solve both your problem. Even visiting a retirement village or hospital to spend time with others alone. You may need to get to know the staff there first, so would be good to get sorted out 1st. Could help for next year. This…

I'm Sue from Gold Coast Australia. Struggled with my weight since I was 10. Tried every diet I saw and did nothing but fail and stayed on none longer than 2 weeks. I had a shock in June as Dr couldn't weigh me as I was too heavy. Went to a transport company to get starting weight. Started by tackling my addiction and quit…

I've ways been big from age 10 and tried every diet & failed. In June this year at Dr for annual checkup, she couldn't weigh me on her scales as I was too heavy. I put on 20kg (44lb). To find this out I went to a TNT to use their transport scales. I felt no bigger, and clothes are loose so didn't know. It scared the…

Oh wow every post is what is happening in my home. My hubby also has tummy fat & needs to loose weight but is putting on (very slowly he reminds me). He loves that there is cream cheese in the fridge & layers it onto cheese crackers (all 12 of them) for a pre dinner snack & then gets 2nds at dinner time. Then has a half…

Very easy to understand article. Surprised he didn't mention Protein levels. My nutritionist said too much Protein can affect stix as well. Wow the whole lot is a balancing act between carb/fat/Protein/water/potassium. Glad I have MFP to log.

Been on keto for 4 months down 27kg (59lb) love to have friends who are positive. So many people doing amazing on this site. Anyone can add me.

5 months later & ice cream is my only craving still, about 3 times a week, but have only circummed a few times. I used to eat a lot of other bakery items but not interested at all after a few weeks, yes it did take that long to get through a lifetime addiction. Now the thought of pastries etc repulses me.

Really great posts. Lol

Loving reading this link!!!!!

5 months tracking my food now (BTW the longest I've ever stuck to any 'diet' in last 40 years since I was overweight at 10). Didn't know about LCHF at 1st. Instead only stopped sugar & that was torcher. Then after 2 months found MFP and LCHF from internet searching - after all sugar is a carb. Goal is <20g carbs & being in…

Um I just had some Ben & Jerry's ice cream. But it was so good. Will hate it that I'm not in ketosis tomorrow morning though. And the rest of the tub is still in the freezer. (But in the past I would eat the whole tub in one sitting)

My binges in the last 4 months is at 50g carbs a day & recenlty a one off spin out at 70g this last week. It has been hard to recover from & I now am out of ketos for a week and got the dreaded headache today when at 25g for 2-3 days. Oh well the price has to be paid. The good thing is this blowout of over a week - and I…

Thanks for friending me. More support the better

Also check your fats! If they aren't high enough on low carb, you'll go into starvation and either stall (like I did until I upped my fats again last week) or lose muscle and bone! [/quote] I concur with not enough fats and also watch calories during this difficult time - my nutritionist (also a Dr.) said women with…

I have normally been OK with my mood, but nearly lost it at lunch yesterday. At a cafe (as normal takeaway is way out for carbs) at 1pm - breakfast menu finished & EVERYTHING was a burger, potatoes, or pasta or sweet potatoes and no veges - salads also not low carb beetroot etc - it all became too much & I felt like a…

Best use of time & surely gave you a workout in itself.

What are your carb goals? Are you aiming for ketosis?

Hi @Sajyana I'm on Gold Coast. I buy ordinary cream so I can have more flexibility & choices to whip it, or use for scrambled eggs, in protein shakes for extra fat etc. I've just friended you for my diary. I use a new product to Aust called New Image as a support for VLC so that makes sence to you but rest of diary is…
