Thanks for that. Im planning to restart an official weight loss game by June 1 when my summer school schedule begins. And I'll keep any weight loss I manage to fit in here too! Not giving anything back! I just want to look at that calorie number on my Fitbit HR and decide where to stop eating that particular day without…

I weigh myself every day. I put on and take off several pounds several times a week. If you let this get to you, it's gonna be one bummer rodeo hon! We are never one golden perfect cardinal weight. We are factories for food digestion, water allocation, sodium dispersal and waste management. Every 24 hours it's the same…

Don't lose it for your wedding; lose it for life...

I appreciate the overwhelming complexity & how much my body gets right, day in and day out with little appreciation or even acknowledgement... I also really appreciate my strong defined legs & how far they carry me each day... Just coming off a case of plantars, so yeah, bottoms of the feet, I appreciate y'uns too!

Thanks for the encouragement. Your cat is adorbs!!!

I want to work on a really excellent pasta dish with those large white beans. Yum!

I usually make a protein rich sauce. Bolognese. Piedmontese meatballs with spinach. My MIL's 'brown' sauce with a slow simmered steak and a lot of porcini mushrooms. Sometimes a puttanesca with lots of olives and some marinated artichoke hearts, and grilled sausage on the side. Pesto in the summer, with tiny steamed new…

I eat the 3.5 dry oz serving option. The barilla boxes list both. 350 calories boiled & naked waiting to be sauced. I only eat pasta about 2-3 times a month, so I'm willing to save calories toward enjoying that meal. I like barillas protein pasta line a lot. It tastes like the pastas we get in Italy when we visit my…

Excuse me. Since I've lost weight, my butt could use some of that heavy fat of which you speak. PM me & I'll get a fed ex label right over!

Almost anything can be unhealthy if it is approached unhealthily... To each his or her own. Rest assured I'm completely healthy!

I too like to see the new lows and don't let the bobbles bug me. I weigh every day & use fitbits weekly average as my official weight. It really reveals the trend. And I am such a naughty monkey I erase every week's one highest weight because that usually just reflects water retention, etc. and take the six day average. It…

It's the main way I eat bananas!

Great job!

Not pop; FOOD!

You need more than just more calories; you need more real food variety!

Great progress! You've given yourself some of the best birthday presents of your life...

I'm fixing our special dinner tonight. It will be splurgey but not insane. Tomorrow a new week starts for me & I want to be back in deficit.

Most people who consistently say they feel full at 800-1000 really are eating closer to 1200. It's easy to be off by that much!
-
All of the above! What are you really trying to lose? If you're overweight, you've obviously been eating more! That said, healthier choices (primarily more protein, more fiber) can make you feel full. Try adding a healthy fat like avocado or peanut butter to a meal or snack, tweak your serving sizes slightly higher, or add…

@synacious I'm the same... 20k steps + a workout adds up to A LOT of activity!

Maybe that 'don't eat any exercise calories back' advice works for very obese people doing very gentle workouts, but I wouldn't be able to do the kinds of workouts I do if I didn't eat some of those calories back! Came back to edit: that sounds too harsh! What I mean is this... MFP is set up for you to eat back exercise…

I had to get up over my 'norm' to see loss. As I suspected I was already at about 10k daily with 'lifestyle' steps... I pushed my goal to 100k a week with the last 30k being purposeful hill walks and trail hikes & ate some of that back. It has worked well for me.

Yeah, it's really wonky right now!

Oh I hear you! I've been overwhelmed myself. Believe me! I make basic Mexican beans every week in my crockpot. I often make an Italian pasta sauce there too. Usually something with a lot of protein like bolognese or meatballs in marinara. For Indian food I make butter chicken in the crockpot or a batch of chana dal with…

The financial part is not really a valid excuse. The plainer & more basic you eat, the more you can afford. If you are on a budget you should learn to make your favorite purchased items. If you eat the same things over and over again, make a weekly budget with no repeats. We do this menu: Mexican or Cuban one night, Asian…

Also: 'motivation' does NOT hold me in place. Hundreds of tiny, flexible but resilient, and almost idiot proof habits about as exciting as a box of bandages hold me on track. Waiting to be 'motivated' to be healthy is like expecting feeling 'in love' will keep you married for the long haul. Just nope.

You need to just get yourself back to basics one habit at a time, otherwise the overwhelm just wins. I would start by tracking food. That's job one. Don't be strict about the eating the first few days; just be strict about the weighing, measuring & recording. When that's well reestablished, pick the deficit you want & aim…

Make a master list that matches the layout of the store. Follow it in order...

I tried it too. It finally got me to eat more protein. And I stopped feeling ashamed about the little container of bacon fat that lives at the back of my fridge. I learned I could enjoy a meal without loads of starchy. Plus my seasonal allergies were alleviated (weird! I know...prolly the lower dairy). But in the end I…
