I love seeing people's real life routines! Thank you all for answering, and thanks to the OP for asking... Right now this is what I do: - Get 100k steps a week. I can't do a cookie cutter 15k a day so I have some 10k days, some 15k, and a few in the 20's. About half come from being a school sub and the other half come from…

I use my Fitbit HR for calculating my activity and yes, I try to stay in a 500/day deficit. I also keep an eye on my macros but don't worry about one weird day here & there.

I was that sort of foodie too... homemade bone broths, jams, pies, etc etc etc. And it was for my family. Both opposing opinions are right. In some ways, sure you can. And in others, sorry but you can't. Of course you can change your recipes & control yourself around the food. Doh! For me it was the time involved. Too much…

Oh thank you!! I eat what it tells me I can eat & a couple of times I ate the full amount and then it put me in the red naughty zone :#
-
I am always up for a little cottage cheese play!

You just need a deficit... Ditch the 1200. Aim for 500 less than you burn at your current weight, height & age. Eat back at least half of your exercise calories. Throw away the calendar! Start feeling strong & beautiful immediately! And why try to look like you did in 2010 when you can become 1000x more fabulous NOW!! xo
-
@FunkyTobias... Thank you for that. I'm going to save it! LOL
-
Try switching arms.

I like Zumba. It's not my main workout but I do it for variety. But watch the alleged burns. MFP seems too high.
-
Also: why does your husband figure in this in any way? You've set up an unrealistic goal for yourself to 'earn' something that should not even be a special privilege?? You should visit family anytime finances allow. Just a whole lot of 'nope' going on in what you just said. Work on that & losing the weight will be EASY!
-
Wow! Two whole weeks! Cmon... get back on that horse & cowgirl up hon.
-
Work on your discouragement instead. That's a relatively common psychological barrier to weight loss.
-
Yes. Even the ugly days. I went to a funeral Thursday and ate over 3900 calories. Bereavement + tiramisu...

Find ways to layer your proteins in meals & snacks. Tomorrow I'm making pesto for dinner: I'll use Barilla's protein pasta, and I will toss white beans from Italy in as well. With some Parmesan that's three sources of protein. I make a breakfast burrito with a high protein low carb tortilla, turkey chorizo, scrambled egg…

My daughter loves the wallaby organic whole milk vanilla bean. It's pretty wonderful, but I usually eat plain.

Whatever you most want to shrink will be the last thing to shrink. This is immutable!

Go pick up Thai chicken soup! The ginger & lime will make you feel fabulous. Go! Scoot!

Hahaha get outta here boob-lurker

Yay! Recomposition! I probably shouldn't have used that term. I meant it more generically than the weight training context. As far as I know the only way to systematically recomposition is lifting heavy. But less targeted recompositioning just sort of happens. In my case it was obviously hormonal. The body sequesters…
-
LOL That is probably a more reasonable goal than the OP's
-
Yay! Recomposition! I finally lost my boobs when menopause concluded. They were insane for awhile.

If you are maintaining 155/160 you are probably eating more than you think... Confirm that your 1200 is really 1200 by using a food scale. (When people say 'oh man I'm not even hungry on 1200 or less' I pretty much assume they are eating more than they think!) And if you are nursing a baby remember you need to eat more for…

Part time: rental cabin in the Cascades near Ashland. Probably spend about 2 months a year in Oregon. Love it!

Love this thread!!!

And hello, with five relatively young children?!? I think you probably are being overly aggressive in 3-week spurts and calling it 'quitting.' Go easier! Aim lower! Take half a pound of loss over a longer time... Find something that works within the current conditions of your actual life, not some ideal that collapses in a…

Hahaha I love that meme!

What helped for me was to once and for all very clearly, very cleanly, very dispassionately partition PROCESS (my work) from PRODUCT (my body's work). If my program is based on sound principles & I am consistently doing my work, I have to accept that my body will do its work on its own arcane terms. So far this has carried…

Some pretty inspiring voices here! @Passionately_Positive YOU ROCK
