It's good to laugh!! You've got this!

Yes, my metabolism is a hero. It's a wonder I don't weigh 600 lbs and have my own TLC show!!

I came back because I felt bad about being so harsh... LOL ~hangs head in shame~ But really, that's not okay! I'm going through a funny situation: All through my forties as I struggled with perimenopause & active menopause and the pounds gradually packed on my husband was busy busy busy with his career and hobby of…

That British show is a goldmine. I could watch it over again & again. (And because of that show I ALWAYS have a glass of milk with any dessert I eat & imagine the dessert's fats passing right through my system... LOL) People really really want to believe their metabolisms are somehow 'wounded' or 'injured' when in reality…

I just tune those people out. I doubt they are the most successful long term. The thing is, the basic premise remains the same -- CICO -- but the theme & variation among individuals is infinite. You are doing your journey. What does it mean? How does it unfold? What might you change and why? You have to be a compassionate…

Great job! I seem to have caught another mild head cold whilst subbing, so I only got in 8558 steps/3.7 miles on a very rainy Thursday, but yesterday was beautiful & I walked 18969 steps/8.2 miles. My one-on-one sub assignment ended & im off for the next month, save for my weekend caregiving gig Sat & Sun mornings. Woot…

Oh try it carol! It's just an old Sunset magazine recommendation. Great with a lot of different winter meals.

Or you could just leave literature lying around about penile implants. Tell him it's not a problem he's smaller than average, but maybe he'd like to consider augmentation down the road... Smile patronizingly or giggle slightly to yourself when you catch a glimpse of his junk in the bathroom mirror...

8558 steps, 3.7 miles yesterday 18942 steps, 8.1 miles today

I do the weekly thing too. Less crazy making. I try for 10k minimum per day & 100k per week. I get about half of those in my daily life & the other half I go out and get as walks or hikes. I've had a rough few weeks, though, and haven't broken out of the 90k range since the time change. It's really frustrating. Hoping I do…

I find higher carb days are naturally lower in fat, and lower carb days turn out higher in fat. It's kind of like a see saw. So I wouldn't worry too much about one day, especially if they're all healthy fats. Good for you working with a nutritionist! Best wishes on your progress.

@bdfarrall Where are you exactly? My husband just got home from a four month detail in DC at national park headquarters. They put him up in Arlington VA & it was so fun to visit him there! I'm in love with old town Alexandria...

Welcome! Alpha is right!!

I don't know why they would close it... Maybe send a query to admin? They get back pretty quick. Tonight I made my favorite winter salad: butter lettuce with avo slices & pink grapefruit sections. Pretty & delicious!
-
Oh man so does that avo toast! Love!!
-
Tonight, leftovers! Bean & cheese burrito with greens, pico de gallo, avocado slices, fire roasted red salsa & Greek yogurt.
-
It all sounds yummy!
-
The citrus & soy together make sort of a fresh ponzu sauce...
-
Some guys I grew up with do that! Only they add a squeeze of lemon with the soy! That is truly delicious...

Yes. 'Plateauing for months' pretty much equals 'eating at maintenance,' no?

I like my vitamix a lot!

I try to get 100000 steps a week. About half come from my job as a school sub in special ed; the other half come from fitness walking & hiking. I use my phone as my pedometer so I don't pick up many walking around the house steps. I find walking very satisfying, but it is not my only mode of exercise. I do yoga 4-5 times a…

Sounds good! I really need to get earbuds... 12175 steps today, 5.2 miles. Also did a yoga class & an UrbanKick class at the Y.

14490 yesterday, 6.2 miles. Kind of low mileage today. I'm on an assignment being one-on-one with a little girl who is new to our district with Angelman's syndrome. She does a lot of sitting at recess and PE so I do too :-( The other night I had to face the dreaded treadmill... Gah! I lack the inner resources for…

Welcome newbies!

That's how I started @dryheatfitness. Be careful! It's like that children's book 'If you give a Mouse a Cookie...' Hahaha I saw I could easily get to ten, then 12 or even 15 thousand... then I saw how close I was to 100k a week...

12/1 14490 steps/6.2 miles 75 minutes yoga 60 minutes Zumba (These are all seperate; I dont count my class time in steps)

It's not weight related. I stopped for 9 months and thought 'yay! That was easy!' Then it came back. I stopped for 12 months and thought 'yay! That seems final!' It came back again. Gah!!! Now it's been gone for over two years. Shhhhh... it might hear us... ~looks over shoulder nervously~
