If you want to continue exercising, try scheduling an appointment with a personal trainer. I'm rehabbing from ligament reconstruction in my knee, and my therapist told me to join the Y and work with a trainer on a non-weight bearing routine to build upper body and core strength. I was amazed at the variety of things he…

When you measure out a tad over the serving amount and don't log the extra little bit, then go back and fix it, 'cause someone from MFP might be watching you.

I had to uninstall, then re-install. After that, the next update went ok.

I have a Withings Smart Body Analyzer, and find it to be accurate. But it definitely is not under $50.

Ok, here goes week 3. It looks like my GW was a little too aggressive, and I may not make it. But I'm still happy with my results so far! SW 182 CW 176.4 GW 167

I always use protein powder if I find myself low on protein at the end of the day. Six Star Decadent Chocolate is a yummy way to hit the macros.

HI Cheryl. I looked at the last three days of your diary and I notice a lot of items are volume measures (cups, tablespoons, etc) and some look like they might have been chosen from the MFP database. Are you using a food scale to weigh your portions? If not, you might want to try that, especially for peanut butter (one of…

Well, I thought the USDA used a good set of scales, since they list the kcals per 100 grams :)

Whaaaat??? This totally floored me, so I checked the USDA food list. All kcals are per 100 grams: Egg, whole, cooked, hard-boiled 155 kcals Egg, whole, cooked, scrambled 149 kcals Egg, whole, cooked, poached 143 kcals Egg, whole, raw, fresh 143 kcals I'm baffled!

Do you have an exercise routine on the weekends? Can you go to a gym on Fridays after work instead of partying, or take a long walk? Do you have a hobby that can take you out of the house on the weekends? I went through a long period where I ate because I was bored. I realized that I was the only person who could change my…

A friend had a talking scale - her kids gave it to her. The second time she stepped on it, it said, "You have gained 3 pounds. Have a nice day!" We never saw the scale again. And knew better than to ask about its fate. Sounds like a good plan. Keep us posted on how you do with it.

Very cool!

Maybe make a list of all the reasons why it would benefit YOU to lose the weight? Not broad, general reasons, but very specific detailed reasons. I was in your place a while back. Taking time to put the reasons on paper took me a bit of time, and when I was done, I had three pages of text - very detailed reasons that were…

Welcome to MFP! I've been here just under 2 months. What helped me the most in the beginning was to spend a few days just logging what I ate, and seeing what happened with the calories, carbs, protein, and fat. After that, it was pretty easy to cut portion sizes and eliminate some foods. You will learn which foods work…

Maintaining physical fitness and a healthy diet has very little to do with age, or past physical condition including weight. Meet Ernestine Shephard http://ernestineshepherd.net/?page_id=2 She describes herself as a "sedentary, well-padded school secretary when she start body building at age 56. She's now age 75 and still…

There is a very helpful thread in Fitness and Exercise http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10266196/does-mfp-really-overestimate-exercise-calories-burned#latest Estimating calories burned depends on a factors such as a person's fitness level, perception of the intensity of exercise, etc. This thread did a great…

I searched for "bone broth nutrition " and got a lot of hits, but most were articles with no info on the macro/micro nutrients. I looked through the first 5 pages then gave up. I didn't look at beef broth nuttition, but it just seems like bone broth will have better values.

I weight daily so I can establish my weight range on TrendWeight https://trendweight.com/. I've found I don't panic if the scale goes up one day and down the next. As long as I'm in my range and the range keeps trending downward, I'm happy.

I would recommend Jackson Galaxy http://jacksongalaxy.com/category/pee-poop-problems/ but you might have to replace your catpee diet. :)
