I'm .5" from the last hole on my belt (thought probably need 1" for it to be comfortable". Walked 3.4 miles at a 15:07 pace this morning.

I look for ethnic foods to try to make, Indian, Middle Eastern, African, Korean. Anything with a different flavor profile.

As the pt sergeant in ROTC told me, the only way to get better at push ups is to do more push ups.

All the new clothes I'm having to buy are expensive enough. Now if I hit my goal, there's a 30 ounce 60 day dry aged bone in ribeye with crispy Brussels sprouts, truffled fries and a bone marrow canoe appetizer with my name on it. It might be a little hard to justify $120 for the steak though...

When I was single, Sunday was cooking day. Two or three recipes that would last me the week. Then all your cooking for the week is done and all you have to do is nuke it. Or warm it in the oven or a pan depending on what you made.

I'm not usually the only one eating. When it's something only I will eat, then yes I put everything in the recipe.

Historically my wife has very low blood pressure and mine has been high for years. My HIGI BP from Saturday was the same as hers when she went to the doctor yesterday (high for her, low for me).

In my experience, the heavier I was, the faster that first 20 pounds came off. Then it goes to a steadier progression. Unfortunately there were a lot of times I gave up soon after that first 20 because it tapered. I'm a little smarter now. I've also noticed if I am higher protein and fat than carbs, my body seems to lose…

I keep things in the fridge about a week. So lunch is usually the prior week's dinner. Yesterday was sous vide bottom round with potatoes and green beans. No leftovers Wednesdays, so today is the lentil and chickpea stew I made with brown rice and mixed vegetables.

My schedule was disrupted this morning because my wife's doctor rescheduled an appointment. So instead of a morning walk, I was taking kids to school. Took 6 starts to get 30 straight minutes in on the elliptical.

I go by the day and usually don't eat back all my calories. If I've done that for 6 days, then on Sunday I'm allowed to splurge a little. For example: Last week I was about 1500 calories under for the week. So I let myself have a little extra at dinner. Maybe next week it's something else, like a steak dinner. It's what I…

I've always liked cook until toothpick comes out clean on cake recipes. That's like a 30 second window between done and dry. Or mix until it looks like something that only exists in the mind of the recipe creator...

My usual 42 minute walk. This afternoon I start incorporating elliptical intervals.

Egg White bites with sausage, cheese and roasted mushrooms. Half a honeycrisp apple. Slice of rye toast (that was my treat).

Threw out 3 pairs of pants that just wouldn't stay up anymore. HIGI machine BP at the store yesterday averaged out to 110/67.

I originally wanted to get to the halfway point by Thanksgiving, which is 8 pounds away. So now I'm trying to lose 16 more pounds by TG. That puts me 26 pounds from normal BMI and 30 pounds from my goal.

Tracker not attached to MFP, it’s just the Heath app on my phone. I had it linked, but then it kept adding step counts as additional calories even after I logged exercise so I turned it off. I’ve seen sedentary defined as anything under 1k steps a day to anything under 5k. I don’t consider grocery shopping a routine/daily…

My daughter's birthday cake it said 3 medium eggs and gave amount in ML. I used 3 large and a little egg white from the "jug" I use for breakfast to get that amount. Clearly mutant chickens were used in the original.

I am assuming it's still part of the fact that I was up almost 36 hours straight (1.5 hour nap in the middle max) Sunday to Monday. My biggest fear was that if I ate anything, I'd keep eating because that's what used to happen. Would have gone way past maintenance calories I'm sure. Brushing my teeth staved it off for a…

You can defrost them and eat them straight from the bag. I used to do that all the time. Carrot, broccoli, cauliflower mix was my favorite. Soup: package frozen mixed veg large bottle bloody mary V8 Can rotel tomatoes and chiles 1 pound hamburger Worcestershire, salt, pepper to taste Brown the meat, mix it all together,…

Running with anything in my hands was always weird. Headlamp I tried once seemed to hurt my vision more than help it until I started running with a baseball cap to shield my eyes from it. They make LED vests that have a chest lamp now that I've thought about getting for the winter months.

Call from work at 1230 am so no more than 90 minutes of sleep. In the past, working all day after that would have included a lot of snacking for energy, mostly junk. Got through the day on calorie budget. Ordered pants in a size I haven't worn for 15 years. Don't expect them to fit yet, but they will soon.

Sous Vide eye of round, roasted fingerling potatoes with goat cheese, roasted broccoli.

There are a million recipes for overnight oats. That gives you variety. My current batch is oats, greek yoghurt, almond milk, chia, honey, almond butter, cocoa powder. I make egg white bites that are 21g protein per serving. I usually eat that with half an apple and am usually full until lunch. I ate a mid-morning snack…

One from last night is a double whammy: 1/2 tsp garlic. Really, what's the point? Then that garlic wasn't listed in any of the steps in the recipe...

If the restaurant has nutrition information online, you can add it to MFP. I've done that with a couple things. The 2 restaurants I've been to that didn't have nutrition info, I knew that what they were going to serve me was way too much for a single serving, so I took "half" home and weighed it there. If you know you're…

Lies, Gin isn't good with anything. I drink 1 diet soda a day. I get water at restaurants now since everywhere is unlimited soda refills it seems. It was mainly an expense and caffeine thing when I realized I was spending $50 a week or more on soda between 12 packs and restaurants and having trouble falling asleep at night.

RaceTrac hot dogs with cape cod salt and vinegar chips. Was usually a multiple times a week lunch because I was always driving around lunch time. Easy to avoid now that I work from home, but I still get cravings. Ruffles with sour cream and onion dip. Can’t keep them in the house.
