MAINTENANCE
The scale has been steady at 170 for 2 weeks. That's with some serious stress eating last week as well. Probably helps that I added more muscle building exercise in about 2 weeks ago. While I will continue to track, I declare goals met.

Running vest
I found some fleece jackets by chance about 6 months ago and the best thing about them is the zipper pocket at the chest. Perfect spot for my phone. I'm looking for something similar as a vest for the incoming warmer weather, but I can't find anything that isn't crazy expensive. Needs to be very light because summer here…

My wife said even trying was crazy at my age
But 29 years after I graduated high school, I now weigh what I weighed at graduation, or at least close enough.

Scale creep
Scale crept up on me some this week. I know it’s because I’ve added some additional training to what I was doing so muscle and water retention. So I did this to help keep me motivated and thought I’d recommend it to everyone. Take a pic in you fat clothes and compare it to an older pic of those clothes.

Da Rulk Functional Training
I signed up for the free trial on Centr, but I'm not all in because a breakfast that has 800 calories with 3 poached eggs and half a pound of oatmeal seems a bit much, though the recipe sounds good. Has anyone tried any of Da Rulk's Raw Functional Training? I'm trying to calculate calorie burn and the workout builder on…

I’m almost normal
BMI is 25. That’s 10.6 points below starting BMI.

Half pound a week
The home stretch. The last 5 pounds. Almost 30% of my body gone. Things I’ve gained with the normal BMI: Normal blood pressure Normal cholesterol Lower heart rate Normal A1C Better self image Ability to pull exactly 30g of Snyder mini pretzels out of the bag in a single handful

Even though you know you shouldn't
You use the same password or some derivation thereof for a bunch of different websites. What are the chances you think. Then you get a pop up that your AppleID was used to sign in to icloud on a Macbook pro. You don't own a Macbook Pro. Then you find a string of outgoing messages in Chinese going out from your phone. So…

How did you transition to maintenance
I'm 15 pounds from goal. My plan was always to stay at 1.5 pounds a week until I hit goal and then switch to maintenance. But looking at maintenance calories compared to current calories and that seems like a lot of calories. I was thinking switch the goal to 1 pound a week and get used to that. Of course, I almost never…

Walking in the weather
Thursday was torrential downpour. People actively moved to splash me as they drove down the road. Today it started to snow when I was 2 miles from home. Luckily no accoumulation before I got home because the doofuses who splashed me on Thursday probably should have skidded off the road and hit me today.

Plateau due to new exercise?
I don't really consider this a real plateau as it has only been a week or so, but I'm curious. I started adding some jog/run intervals to my morning walk after I did a 5k last week. Pretty much as soon as that happened, my weight stabilized. No daily fluctuations, scale is the exact same weight every day. I haven't seen…

Half marathon to go
I’m 13.1 pounds from goal.

Logging cardio intervals
I turned my morning cardio into something akin to early C25K intervals. For example today was 5 minutes of walking, 14 1 minute jog, 2 minute walk intervals, 3-5 minute cool down. I’m not sure if I should log it as 5.5 mph jogging or 14 minutes at 7.5 - 8mph and 34 minutes at about 4.5 mph. From the calorie side, jogging…

Things in recipes that amuse you
From names to ingredients to cooking process, things that make you laugh. Examples: "Man-pleasing XXXX" "Better than sex XXXX" "Crack XXXX" "Fall off the bone" "Cook boneless skinless chicken breast in crockpot for 12 hours" "Cook on high pressure for 3 whistles"

My biggest successes
They aren’t pounds or inches. The first is eating those things I used to gorge on and being able to stop when I’ve had my alottment. The second is knowing that if I do go out and gorge because I just wanted to, it’s a one time thing not a return to bad habits or a failure.

17 pounds
That's it. That's all I have left to hit my original goal. I honestly didn't expect to get this close when I started. Back of my head I was thinking if I was lucky I'd lose 10 pounds before I gave up. Of course my original goal is slightly heavier than my healthy BMI weight, so I'm tacking 5 pounds onto the goal.

Calories added poaching
One of my go to proteins for salads or just mid morning snack is Instant Pot poached chicken. It's 5 cups of water and a tbsp of salt. However, as an experiment I dropped out the salt and replaced half a cup of water with buffalo wing sauce. That is 120 calories. Which got me curious about how calories would be added to…

Which mileage app do you use
This morning I had three apps going at once, Nike, MapMyRun, and RunKeeper. I got 3 different run times, 3 calorie counts, and 3 different distances. I know Nike pauses automagically if I stop, haven’t checked the other 2. Which apps have you tried and which seems to be the most accurate?

Take that Thanksgiving
Down a pound on the week and that was with TG and two other splurge days. Glad I made myself walk TG and Black Friday.

Kid friendly fiber recipes
Looking for variety. My daughter needs more. She will eat whole grain pasta. She eats bananas. I might be able to trick her into eating some mixed into yoghurt. We made oatmeal banana pancakes, but that's only 1g per pancake. I was going to sneak some chia in it, but she caught me. Was thinking I could probably sneak in…

The real success
At 248, I couldn’t stand the sight of myself without a shirt. Wouldn’t leave my room without a shirt, even in the middle of the night. Wouldn’t put in my glasses until I was dressed. At the same time, I felt like I couldn’t do anything about it because life was so hectic and I couldn’t even see the first step. Here I am 40…

Heart Rate Monitor
I read through a variety of posts about HRMs. There are a lot of them. So in true internet form, I'm starting a new one because I'm too lazy to go through all of them. I discovered that work will reimburse me up to $250 a year for fitness equipment. This includes shoes and fitness trackers. I'm about to shell out $150 for…

Buying new clothes
I have two pairs of shorts that don't fall off without a belt and all of my shirts are now baggy. Since my goal weight should drop me 2-4 more inches, in theory, I don't want to spend money on stuff that's going to be too big in a few months. I'm about to box up everything and store it, but I want to replace it on the…

Dedication to the mission

Another "decade" down

Sharing recipes
Is there a way to share the recipes we create on the app/site in the forums? Nothing jumped out at me in the app, and I haven’t dug into the site much.
