I used to do cardio at the constant rate for between 30 and 40 minutes... That didn't work out so well... Then high-intensity interval training that did the trick but I found it a terrible impact on my joints ... Now now I do between half and full primary astanga practice,,, never found anything so challenging and…

Seriously! i am awed by how much you can all consume on a bulk. I'm not a small person i take in 2100 -2400 cals per day..the last 6 weeks i increased to 2700ish and literally ballooned and it wasn't with lean muscle.

L4 and L5... Mine was due to a misspent childhood and I get sciatica and all sorts of issues... I digress. General consensus from the medical profession if surgery is required on someone who is overweight is to then lose weight quickly to allow them to have the surgery required. But... Your brain alone consumes 350-400…

I had a question I had asked elsewhere with little or no sensible response or advice. I'm not quite sure if this is carb cycling or carb re-feeding... Looking at some of the posts the 2 approaches seem to be mentioned in the thread. Anyway here is my question related to carb cycling; if you are reducing your carbs "by say"…

I met mine 3 months ago ate my maintenance calories for a week "oh how I missed them" and then realised! I need this... I found myself without purposeful focus... I felt quite lost like id lost a friend... So I reset my plan and off I go again... The funny thing is I don't like being in a deficit, I find it challenging and…

I work in a radiography department it's what's on the inside that matters

answers 1. This also applies to point 2. To me, it's a body fat percentage I've been able to attain which I feel comfortable at maintaining because I have hit a plateau. Equally a body fat percentage which allows me to visibly see changes in my body. So as I recop, I am able to see progression which helps maintaining…

Being openhearted, honest with yourself and seeking help is a great start and I'm sure he will have a deluge of support here but as you mention in your post, if your partner and friends are not supportive and understanding it will be more difficult (although not impossible). Explaining to them the issue with trigger foods…

Congratulations, if you've been a deficit to reach your goal is possibly, sensible to slowly transition back to your maintenance and monitor every couple of weeks. Sometimes referred to as reverse dieting

for me pre-log, be more intentional more control

I tend to try and enter into MFP a rough approximation of what I plan to consume for each meal and snack at the beginning of each day. This helps me work out my macros and am getting the correct volume of each. I've been doing it long enough now that I can eyeball if unable to weigh.. So I only put on the plate roughly the…

Log it is crucial. Without integrity of your record keeping you've lost the foundation. Worry about it " actually be very aware" once you do it and carry over you might well see it as acceptable and thus be prone to do it again to a greater amount. Bad habits might set in. In real terms if you've been consistent and you…

"I think" too...I've created a solid foundation and common sense would now indicate a slight reduction in cals with constant accurate measuring the way forward...but as per the original question raised ...if I did reduce my cals slightly this would but me on my supposed BMR... As I understand it that's a plan to fail. So I…

Thank you. I had read much that HIIT was more effective than endurance for fat loss.. Maybe I took a skewed view because that sounds too much hard work.. I will definitely investigate. Thank you

@vadimknobel I concur. When I would binge.. I would binge only in the evening... And would consume until I physically could not take any more food into my body. In addition to feeling completely devastated for several days afterwards I would try and diet out... which only compounded the issues. Mentally I found it a…
