I'm just keeping my head down and sincerely hoping there are no more big surprises in store for 2020. It was looking to be an awesome year, business wise. Was. HAHA! :D

Thank you, Teresa. Be aware - Daisy is a Chesapeake Bay retriever. She is reasonably smart for a dog, but she can't read, so I won't tell her you called her a Labrador. HAHA! 😆 She likes to be underfoot in the house - I took that photo and then shooed her out of the kitchen. Are you planning to get another dog?

We have peonies in the back yard. Flowers are forming but no blooms yet. They usually are in full bloom around Memorial Day here in Idaho. @n2gardens56 - I'm a bit envious of your nearby mountain trail. I'd be hard pressed to stop hiking there. Have you considered some snake-proof pants and boots?

Good morning, all. Hope you are well. Life is good in Idaho. Warm days and cool nights. Walked the dog around sundown last night. Had to grab a light jacket on the way out the door. Hit a new low weight-wise this morning. Have not been lifting much, but I'll take it. Have an awesome day, y'all. ☀️

I use this high protein mayo as a base for low calorie salad dressing. Super easy to make a dressing flavored just the way the you like it. So far I have made chipotle and ranch dressings. Next up is some blue cheese or gorgonzola type dressing.…

My condolences for your dog and your family, @Evamutt.

Welcome, @cgialis and @Lynne4RH. This is a very supportive, positive group.

Hey there! Hope you all are well. Idaho started the first phase of reopening today. Retail stores, churches, day care centers and youth activities can resume. Crossing my fingers that everything goes well. I will continue to wear a mask when needed and maintain my distance, but otherwise I'm resuming normal activities.

Good morning, all. In another thread, someone mentioned that life was starting to seem like "Groundhog Day". Rang true for me. Now off to work. Have an awesome week!
-
Did another lifting workout at home last night. I could do this regularly if I set up a gym in the basement. Glad to be getting something accomplished.
-
Aarrrgghh! Is it Monday already? 😆 And so begins another week. Let's do this!

"Groundhog Day". Great insight, @Beeps2011. Time for a change!

Great news, @Evamutt! Happy for you and your dogs! Welcome, @schneezle! Yes - this site goes down for maintenance periodically. Users also have issues from time to time, which varies from person to person. Just be patient when you run into issues. The great support and encouragement that you get here makes it worth putting…

Checking in. Just another day at work. Tomorrow I must venture out for provisions. That should be exciting. Or something. ;) I did finally find the motivation to do a home workout. The dog had to take a time out in the crate. She thinks it's playtime when she sees me down on the floor. Otherwise it went well. Now to make…

Finally got motivated and did a lifting workout at home last night. Felt good, but not really strenuous with a 40 lb. kettlebell. Now to make this a habit, as the gym will not be open for at least another month.

Heard that. We're all frustrated with this situation. I have never wanted normalcy as much as now.
-
@Evamutt - My condolences. Always a difficult decision, but usually the best thing to do for our beloved pets. Be strong.
-
@TonyB0588 and @AliNouveau - Great points about the benefits of staying generally fit as you age. I'm another 60+ year old who isn't going down without a fight. Your posts inspire me! Thank you.

Good morning, all! Looking like a gorgeous spring day in Idaho. Seems likely that the first phase of reopening businesses will start here on May 1. 🤞One can hope.
-
Pretty quiet in here lately. Say howdy! Looking like Idaho will start the first phase of reopening businesses on May 1 or thereabouts. 🤞I need some gym time!
-
Checking in. Have had a nice little whoosh in the weight department lately. I like that, but I hope I am not losing too much muscle mass with the lack of gym time. The dog cut her paw yesterday climbing in and out of the canal. Going to give her a couple of days to heal, so I'll be walking solo. I'll have to sneak out so…

You have lost weight before. You can do it again. I think your plan is good. Small steps to allow your mind and body time to adjust to better habits.

Most light beers. Flavorless fizzy water. Sam Adams is the one light beer I have tried that is worth my dollars. Although I usually just drink a high calorie beer and deal with the extra calories.

Good morning, all. Planning a new cinder block raised bed garden box for my daughter today. Today's step - gather and stage the materials. And a walk, of course. The dog needs that every day - and so do I. Have an awesome day, y'all!

Hello, y'all. Life is good here in Idaho. Still eating too much some days. Was hoping they would lift some restrictions today, but alas, we remain on voluntary lockdown until at least April 30th. I need the gym in the worst way - no motivation to lift weights at home. I need a swift kick in the *kitten*. :) HAHA! Take…
-
I am still eating a little more than I should. At least the walking keeps the weight gain from getting out of control.
-
Walked 8 miles with the dog today. A personal best for me. I feel energized to walk long distances these days for some unknown reason. It does relieve the stress - maybe that's it. All is well, otherwise. Hoping for a return to normalcy soon. Hang in there, y'all!
-
The sun is out in Idaho. High winds predicted for the weekend - no matter - I'm going on a long walk with the dog. Trying to cheer myself up - feeling a little (a lot) down today. Keep on posting, everyone. Y'all give me hope that life will return to (what passes for :D ) normal soon.
-
Amen, Barbie. Heard about John Prine's passing this morning - your post reminded me of the chorus from "Spanish Pipedream". "Blow up your t.v., throw away your paper Go to the country, build you a home Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches Try an' find Jesus on your own" Still good advice. Have a good day, y'all.

I have started adding some frozen blackberries most of the time. A few frozen Hershey's kisses ground up or some Hershey's dark chocolate syrup on top when I'm in the mood for chocolate. Chia seeds if I need some extra fiber. Makes a great late night treat!
