That's right, @BCLadybug888. I showed that pie who's boss! 😁

Greetings, seasoned citizens. Late night check-in. My weight remains stable. Logging meals most days. Still need to get back on a regular exercise program. We got through Thanksgiving without any major problems. My wife tires easily, though, and so the visit with family was cut short. Ate sensibly, (other than multiple…

Thank you for starting this thread, @TamiVsTheTrail. I like to hike, too. I will be checking here when I can and posting some photos from some of my hikes.

As always, thank you for the kind words, Ann. Regarding therapy/counselling - I joke with the counselor constantly. She says, "Is this how you envisioned spending your golden years?" And I tell her, "I'm the guy who said I would never set foot in a therapist's office. Yet here I am." I will tell anyone in a caregiver role…

Bumpity bump bump. Lots of good information in this thread.

You might try a weight trend tracker like Libra or Happy Scale. I use Libra and find it helpful. Helps you see that downward trend, even when you have a slow week.

Greetings, all. I haven't checked in here for a month or so. Good to see so many of you continue to strive for better health. No major changes here. My wife's health continues to deteriorate slowly. It's so frustrating to watch someone who won't do anything to improve their condition. It's existence, but I can't call it…

Yes, Karl, the atmosphere in the ballpark was electric. The fans didn't stop yelling and chanting 'til the game was over. Good luck to your Phillies, Karl. I will watch the rest of the playoffs because I'm a baseball fan, but I'll have to root for Cleveland now.

Greetings, all. Trying to check in here more often. To @sandramarshall200, @trekkie123, @ridiculous59 and @karlschaeffer - Thank you for your kind words and your encouragement. You remind me again that the best feature of MFP is the community and the mutual support. 😍 Like @SbetaK, I'm 68 and still working. The work…

Greetings, all you seasoned citizens. Haven't posted here in a while. Life is still chaotic. My wife's cancer remains dormant, but she is not doing anything to improve her general physical condition. It's very frustrating, but watching her slowly deteriorate has made be very aware of the need to keep moving and active,…

Great deer photo, @AnnPT77. Very rare to get that close. I usually just see the white tail flagging me from a distance. 😁

Greetings, all. I haven't checked in here in weeks. Good to see you all are sticking to it. No significant change in my situation. We took my wife to California over Labor Day to see her family. She stayed with her sister for five days after we returned. That was a welcome little break. Finally back to walking the dog most…

Greetings, all. Drive by check-in. Welcome to all the new folks here. You've come to the right place for support and encouragement! Same old same old here. No real changes in my wife's condition. Trying to find someone who can help lessen her pain. Just trying to take care of all the household chores along with working…

Just saw this reading through the posts. Thank you, Ann. Your note was fortuitous. I can definitely use some of that strength. I was extremely depressed when I woke up today. Finally got some motivation and went to work. Setting intentions for a better day tomorrow. Thanks for brightening my day!🌞

That is an awesome accomplishment, @Pdc654. Congratulations!

Thanks for your kind words. I need to check in here often for the support and camaraderie. It does help improve my outlook.

Greetings, all. It's been awhile since I checked in here. Life goes on. No change in my spouse's condition. The cancer is dormant, so that is good news. It's like Groundhog Day, though. Same same day after day. I am not cut out to be a caregiver. Still working so that is keeping me sane (or what passes for sane in my…

Greetings, all. Just checking in. Getaway weekend for me. Got 9 miles of walking in already. Found a nice long hill to climb. Great for the legs and the lungs. Checking out a couple of breweries with some friends. No significant changes at home. No news is good news, I suppose. Keep up your efforts, everyone. My goal is a…

Heard that. Seems like my weight gets stuck when I am doing my best/most accurate logging. Then have a treat meal or a couple of adult beverages and I get an inexplicable "whoosh"! Hope that you get the same, @swimmom_1.

Greetings, all. Drive by check in. Southern Idaho has turned into the center of hell - north of 100 deg. F. yesterday. Was still 90 deg. F. at 8 pm - so I skipped the walk with Daisy. A lot of my usual route is on asphalt, so gotta' be cautious with the dog's feet. We'll get back at it when it cools down. The slow weight…

Drive by check in here. No changes in the situation at Casa Steve. Walking the dog for exercise most days. Have been focused on accurate logging and it has paid off with some slow weight loss over the last month.

Thank you, @ridiculous59. Your words really struck a chord in me today. 🤗

Hi, all. Just checking in. No significant changes here. Just the daily grind of caregiving and work. Weight is fairly stable and I'm on a slow downward trend. Trying to maintain that "attitude of gratitude". Some days I'm successful - some days I'm not. 😁 Caught up on all the posts. This group is an inspiration to me.…

Hear hear! Truth. 👍

Greetings, everyone. I've been busy and have not checked in here for several weeks. Read through the posts. Welcome to all the new folks. No change in my wife's cancer situation. The myeloma remains dormant. That's good. The opiate intake and constant pain are still a concern. I'm worried about the long-term effects of the…

Thanks for the kind words and the pep talk, @Pdc654. I have to get back to some regular exercise. Being home more has done nothing positive for the caregiver situation. So I'm going to start exercising more again. You are so right about the positive aspects of exercise. I did a 4 mile walk on Saturday and a 3 mile hike on…

Greetings, all. Welcome to the new folks. You've in good company here. Lots of support and encouragement. No major changes at Casa Steve. My wife's myeloma continues to be dormant. She's still in a lot of pain. Confused and sleeping a lot. We're taking her on a road trip to her family cabin in a couple of weeks. That will…

Drive by check-in today. Things are fairly calm at my house. The myeloma is dormant at present. Kathy is in a better mood most of the time, although she is still way more sedentary than she should be. The whiskey isn't helping either, but far be it from me to tell a dying woman how to live. I've been more sedentary, too. I…

That's living the good life, Suz. A tropical island, local food, adult beverages and you lost weight. Well done! 😎

I've always found your posts to be insightful, @ridiculous59. Barge away. I think your input is great. It's good to see lots of activity in this group.
