  • First of all, stevia is not artificial. That makes it a lot less... weird. To me, it has a fruity flavor. My mom likes to do lemonade like you mentioned. I've used stevia in anything fruity. I think it'd be odd with chocolate and those stevia sodas are not very good. It's really good on grapefruit. I've also made…
  • I have it set to 0.5 lbs a week, which gives me 1640 cals a day, which I treat as a "maximum" and not a goal most of the time. Most days I eat around 1400. I'm 5'7" and 154 lbs.
  • It specifically says "If every day were like today". If all of your days are EXACTLY the same, then yea, maybe. But they aren't. You even mentioned rest days. That means your days are not the same. That is just showing you a rate of loss based on its assumption of your caloric deficit that day.
  • I'm 5'7.5", and It's been a while since I was 135. But back when I was, I wore a size 6. Interestingly, I got down as low as about 110 and still wore a size 6, maybe the occasional "big" size 4. I just have wide hips that aren't going to ever let me be smaller than a size 6. I like that I get to always be curvy, though, so…
  • I'm about the same age as you, same height. You are already a healthy weight. I think 130s is also a healthy weight for our height. You don't need to lose more just because other people do. They weigh more than you and have more to lose. What you want/need to lose is a personal thing. If you are uncomfortable at your…
  • Put your stats into MFP. Eat whatever you normally eat, or change it, whichever you prefer. Weigh and log every single thing you eat. Don't go over what MFP recommends. Exercise or eat less calorie dense foods if you find yourself hungry throughout the day. That's it. There's no special plan, no secret you haven't found.…
  • With all that walking, you're going to be hungry. Eat! Continue to log, if you can. If not, just pay attention to your portions and maybe skip the funnel cake, lol. Otherwise, just have fun. It's an experience. Enjoy it!
  • I drink beer because it tastes good. Just like sometimes I eat dessert because it tastes good. I always make room in my calories for it. I usually have a beer 2 or 3 times a week. I enjoy it a lot. I'm still losing weight. I've lost weight not drinking beer, too. I haven't noticed a difference.
  • You might want to check out the "gaining weight" or at least "maintaining weight" board. At 5'7" and 117 pounds, you do not need to be losing weight.
  • I'm 5'8", about 157 pounds now. I've lost 7 pounds, and gone down a size already - or at least clothes I couldn't wear before I can wear now and clothes I could wear before are now quite loose. My weight is pretty balanced between hips and tummy area.
  • You could just avoid the alcohol altogether - especially considering you don't like it. Or find a drink you like and actually get something out of all of these calories you're taking in. I enjoy a good craft beer. Usually only 150-200 calories, and very yummy. Though I don't drink to get drunk. The few times I've had to…
  • When I was a freshman in college, I lived in a dorm with a dining hall inside. I also had no money and an unlimited meal plan. So yea, I ate in the dining hall for every meal. For breakfast, I had rice crispies with bananas. For lunch and dinner most days, a salad. I bought a bottle of my favorite dressing, so I'd just…
  • Slowing your loss can also help transition into maintenance.
  • I am allowed about 1650 calories a day, but I usually don't quite get there. I prefer to be "allowed" a higher amount of calories, assuming I'll lose weight slowly. Since I get to "win" most days by eating less, I'll just be surprised to lose weight faster. To me, this is much easier than having a low allotment of calories…
  • I am at a "normal" BMI (5'7.5", 157 pounds) and I wear a size 10 or 12 depending on who makes it. I have been a size 8 at about 140 pounds. IIRC, when I was severely underweight as a college student (115 pounds or so, same height), I still wore a size 6. I'm sure it depends on your body, too. Someone with narrow hips might…
  • There's no rule saying that all exercise must be done at the gym. Bodyweight workouts are great. There are a lot of guidelines out there, videos on youtube, etc. Just find something you can do in 20 minutes, get up a little early and get in your workout. But honestly, even if you don't, you can still lose weight. Just eat…
  • I also have issues with anxiety. I've found when my stress levels go up, I get digestive issues no matter what I'm eating. I've had months go by where this is a constant thing - every time I eat. I've also been treated for IBS, though none of the treatment ever helped. When I'm more relaxed, happy, and don't have as much…
  • Hello! I could use some more friends. I've lost 6 pounds already, log daily, and am looking to lose another ~15 and stay active to get fit and strong.
  • Try going for a less aggressive limit. Just slightly reduce your calories. Eat all your favorite foods, just watch your portions (which you should be weighing, btw). You've found that by restricting yourself too much, you cause yourself to binge, leading to no loss. So don't restrict that much. Go easy on yourself.
  • Mostly water and carbonated water. I have a morning coffee, too. Oh, and the occasional beer(1). I quit dark soda about a year and a half ago after a 10 year addiction to Dr. Pepper (sometimes drinking 6 per day for weeks). I YEARNED for that stuff for MONTHS, but now I barely ever think about it. And I absolutely refuse…
  • I've started doing the fitness blender videos (they're free!!) and I really enjoy them. They have a LOT of videos, most of them not needing any equipment, and they do have a lot of low intensity and beginner work outs. Even if not them, there are a lot of videos on youtube. Check them out. I like videos better than…
  • Remember that "healthy" and "weight loss" are two completely different things. Weight loss is only caloric deficit. As long as you are within your calories, your weight will decrease (over time - this isn't a one day kind of thing). Those crisps may not be "healthy", but that's a completely different issue.
  • About the same for me. I started at 164 (down to 160 after 3 weeks). Goal is about 140. I want to be strong! Let's do this!
  • OF COURSE this isn't ideal(not going to get into the "realistic" comment again, just see above). Don't you think she'd LOVE to have $200, heck, even $2000 to feed herself for 2 weeks? The point is, she doesn't have that money. She has a $20 bill. Literally. That is what she has in her hand and there is no more money. So…
  • I also eat several times a day - usually 5. I can't eat very much at one time, and I am GRUMPY when hungry... So yea, I eat often. Because I eat such small meals (almost always <400 calories, usually close to 200), I have plenty of room for snacking in between. Try thinking of it more as 5/6 small meals than 3 meals and…
  • I don't understand your point here... Yea, maybe she can't eat out, but she has to eat. She has $20. That is realistic because IT IS REALITY. It is BY DEFINITION realistic. And definitely possible for her to find enough to eat with the $20 she has. Rice, beans, frozen chicken, and some carefully selected fresh or frozen…
  • Add me! I'd love to have more friends!
  • Hi, there! I'm Laney, 26, recently married, and also recently got my first "real" job after college! I'm in the US. I'm working to lose about 10 pounds, maybe a bit more. I'd love to join the group!
  • Hi everyone! I'm a newlywed with an office job - trying to avoid "letting myself go"! Height: 5'8" HW: 165 CW: 164 GW:145
