Have you had your vitamin D levels checked? A large percentage of the population is Vitamin D deficient and don't even know it. Being on MFP is a great starting point, get those D levels checked if you haven't already!

Have you considered strength training?
-
Nice point, I do need to add that I do take 10g of BCAAs 3x daily. If your going to strength train or do cardio (I do both) then it's important to research BCAAs when doung intermittent fasting.

I don't use protein shakes for weightloss specifically, but I do use them to help me hit my macros. I strength train 3x a week, gaining lean muscle mass and losing body fat are the goals. I absolutely love Tera's Whey. I buy it off of Amazon.

Intermittent fasting is the BEST lifestyle change I have ever discovered! I'm 3 weeks in the 16/8 and I've never felt better. I recommend everyone research it, get informed and give it a try!

Eat filling foods! Yesterday I broke a 16 hour fast with 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal, 1 cup Horizon 1% milk, 2 scoops protein powder, 1 tbs wheat germ, 1tbs flaxseed, 1 tablespoon honey, all mixed together.....yum. This filled me up so much that I had a hard time eating anything else and meeting my calorie goal for the…

Ha! I do the same! I'm the one in boring clothes who hides in the back corner.

We are all have the ability to choose to eat mindfully and in moderation. The chemicals in the processed foods makes it so darn tough. I gave up artificial sugars for the most part, but I do notice that when I "cheat"and have anything with aspartame or sucarlose that I am absolutely ravenous a couple hours later. The same…

I've given up msg, canned soups, soda, donuts, boxe Very true.

I do all my workouts, cardio and strength training, while fasting. I'm getting excellent results and the weight is practically melting off. I take 10g of BCAAs pre workout and 10g of BCAAs post workout for energy, recovery and muscle loss prevention. That is just my experience and what is working for me. The jury is still…

Pillsbury is evil and cannot be trusted!

I had the same problem. It seemed like nearly every weekend something new would pop up. I was starting to avoid social situations which, in turn, was making me depressed. I discovered intermittent fasting and now I am able to enjoy dinner out, Bunco night with the girls, potlucks, etc...while still staying in my calorie…

Wine or beer. Moderation wasn't working so well so I cut it out completely.

With all the artificial sweeteners, chemicals and preservatives and dyes, Mio is equaviliant to drinking diet soda. Unsweetened tea, green tea (Oi Ocha is my favorite) and decaffeined unsweetened tea are my go-tos when I'm tired of water.

Homemade Chicken vegetable soup with Mediterranean herb bread.

This exactly. Except I say hEll no. I will always use my food scale as a backup plan in case I start to gain again, but I have no plans of obsessively weighing and/or recording everything that goes in my mouth forever. Fasting will keep me in check as well.

AdvantEdge Carb control, 17g protein, 1.5g carbs, 100 calories.

I currently weigh 134lbs (I was 149lbs when I started MFP, yay!!) I am 5'0" and in a size 3/4. My goal weight is 115lbs which will put me in a size 0/1.

Since I started intermittent fasting, the weight is coming off fast, a little too fast actually.

Cottage cheese, it looks gross so I've never tried it. Someone in the MFP posted how yummy cottage cheese and grapes are. I tried it myself and got hooked. YesterdayI tried cottage cheese with a tablespoon of grape jelly as someone else suggested in the forums, yum!!!

Pick one day a week or every other week to dedicate to meal planning. I do my meal plan/grocery list every Saturday afternoon with grocery shopping/food prep Sunday. As a personal preference, I do my meals plans for a two week period. It may seem slow going at first, but one you get in the habit, it becomes so much easier.…

I cleaned out my pantry, fridge and freezer and gave all my unhealthy processed foods to a friend. There is now nothing unhealthy in the house for me to eat. It takes more effort to cook/bake something high calorie than it does for me to grab a quick healthy low-calorie snack. My family and I are enjoying my from made from…

Multivitamins make me nauseated on an empty stomach :-/ Are you taking BCAAs before and after your workout. If not then it's definitely worth researching. They will give you extra energy, help preserve muscle while you workout in a fasted state and help with post workout muscle recovery. I take BCAAs along with…

Costco shopping trips are the worst for me! I usually go around to every sample stand at least twice, sometimes more. There's no way to really tell, just take a rough estimate and log it. If your keeping to your calorie goal and sticking with your plan then a taste here and there shouldn't throw you off too much. This is a…

I smoked for over half of my life, with MANY failed quitting attempts. I tried everything from cold-turkey, patches, chantex, gum, Welburtin, etc...all to no avail. I was finally able to kick the habit entirely with the use of Electronic Cigerattes. You can start yourself off at 18mg (or I did anyway, I think you can…

Ineffective, unnecessary, scam!!! Anytime you hear the words cleanse, detox or juice you need to hide your money and run!!!!

I'm guilty of taking the superior air. Anything I find out that someone is paying $100+ a month on their gym membership. I pay $10 a month at my gym for all the same gym equipment, childcare, personal trainers and group fitness classes that every other gym has. Why the heck would anyone pay $100+ just to go to a gym that…

I'm not pregnant nor do I plan on becoming pregnant, but I do take daily OTCNature Made prenatal + DHA. It's cheap and came highly recommended from my hair dresser. My hair is healthier, grows faster and my nails are stronger since I've been taking it.

I am currently on day 5 of IF doing the 16/8 Leangains and it is working wonders for me. At only 5'0", 1200 is all I'm allowed calorie wise if I want to lose weight. Maintance is not much higher. By the time I got through breakfast and lunch there were hardly any calories left for dinner. It was hard fitting dessert or a…

Nicely said, my thoughts exactly!
