Yum!!! That looks amazing! I will definitely be adding that to the lunch rotation! I woke up starving and spent way too much on the breakfast calories so unfortunately it's just a slumfast for me.

I have a good scale that is old fashioned, but not digital. It seems to do the job just fine. I just ordered a digital scale after hearing everyone say to invest in one. Is there a reason to use a digital scale over an old fashioned scale?

EEK! I'll never again question why having too few calories should matter. Anything but the hair!! :# :s

Have you tried Zumba, Cize, Body Jam, or Ujam? They are insanely addicting dance classes (at least for me) where you will burn between 250-500+ calories per hour long session. Just about every fitness center offers them. Some instructors are better than others, you need to try a few classes to see which ones you like the…

I feel better now, thanks!

Milled Flaxseed is another superfood that I keep on hand along side my chia seeds. Since chia seeds are roughly 60-70 calories per 1 tablespoon and flax seeds 70 calories per two tablespoons, I tend to use flaxseed a bit more. Practically tasteless, I add flaxseed to everything I bake (can be used as s substitution for…

You guys are extremely helpful! I appreciate the feedback!

I woke up at 4:30am absolutely starving. My stomach was growling so bad and I couldn't for the life of me fall back to sleep. This has never happened to me before. I ate a serving of almonds and fell back to sleep instantly. Then this morning I wake up starving and eat a 600 calorie breakfast (going to have to hit the gym…

I'm 5'0, started at 152, picked up MFP after a two pound loss and now down to 146. It's much harder losing weight as a petite person. We are allowed fewer calories and burn a lot less than taller people. Best of luck! I would like to see more shorties on my newsfeed so please feel free to add me!

Extremely informative link!!!! Thanks!

Thanks for all the awesome feedback and advice! Although I'm still a noob, I'm learning a lot from you guys. Appreciate it :)

Example-today I ate 1,115 calories worth of food and burned around 508 calories at the gym. If I continue at that rate on average, will eating too few calories help me reach my goal or will it stall my progress longterm ? It is all about CICO, correct?

I have exactly 30 pounds to lose. My goal is to lose it by Christmas (3 months).

I see people writing they hit a weight loss plateau and/or not losing weight like they used to. I've seen it written that this is due to eating too few calories. This is part of where the confusion comes in. If I eat too few calories will I hit a weightloss plateau? If it's all about CICO then why does eating too few…

Screwing myself in the long run meaning I'll hit the dreaded plateau and stall losing..... Your right, one month is not long enough to determine to start drawing conclusions. I appreciate your feedback.

Exactly!!! I'm 5'0" so my daily calorie intake would be 1200 per day with no exercise. It would be way too difficult to live with such a small amount of calories on a daily basis. The big secret to exercising is finding something active you enjoy. I am not a runner nor a nature person. If I were forced to jog or run…

Talk to your doctor about prescription Adipex (phetermine). The drug had been out for 15+ years and monthly visits to the doctor are required for BP check, so it's safe as diet pills go(I use the word safe very loosely). Phetermine is only for short term use as it looses its effectiveness after a couple months, but it…

I agree, the prevention of hunger is the best supplement. I used to get back from a cardio session absolutely starving. That was until I started with a protein shake before the session and then another protein shake right after. No more hunger pangs. I highly recommend AdvantEdge Carb Control shakes. They are only 100…

Soccer injury(immobility) + happy hours + Chinese takeout + midnight pizza delivery + stressful life event (happy hours turn to evening hours on daily basis) + even more midnight pizza delivery (the beer munchies) =35 extra pounds in 2 years :-(.

What? Are you telling me that peanut butter is not universal? No way! I was under the assumption that even Martians from Mars are addicted to the creamy ooey-gooey goodness. Wow, those who do not live in the U.S. are missing out. Next your going to try and convince me that not everyone eats ketchup on everything......stop…

The wonderful world of being vertically challenged, or as I like better "space efficient." With all the ups and downs I've been through with my weight at only 5'0", I can completly relate. Another I love, "you ONLY wear a size 5/6?! You are so lucky! I would NOT be dieting if I could squeeze my butt in a size 5!" What the…

I'm in the same boat. The social drinking is the main reason I put on 30 pounds over the last couple years. When all my pants quit fitting I decided it is time to make a choice....buy fat pants or cut the social drinking down. I still drink when I'm out with friends, but unlike before, I plan ahead. If I know I'm going to…

A relative was telling me they read somewhere that whole wheat bread is responsible for fat accumulation in the midsection (I have yet to see the source). I've read a bunch of conflicting articles which left me confused and lost in the whole grain vs whole wheat debate. I'm staying away from bread as much as possible until…

I came across this post just as I was beating myself up for overdoing it so bad on the Labor Day beers and desserts. Thanks for the motivation, this is exactly what I needed to hear. Awesome job btw, keep up the good work :)

Lol@this response  Too funny! In all seriousness, the problem is that you cook different food for your family to eat. If you do majority of the grocery shopping and cooking (I don't know your situation, I'm just assuming from your post that you do) then don't cook a separate higher calorie meal for them while you…
