I've done low carb for 7 months. Calorie counting is way better and way easier to sustain.

I had severe PTSD from combat in Iraq which lead to really bad depression. My motivation to loose weight is simply because it makes me feel so much better about myself. I guess it's a combination of feeling less self conscious and feeling more energetic and willing to be active. Therapy helped me more than anything though.

After considering everything, I think it's just an inaccurate prediction. I don't see why I would go from a rate of loss close to 2lbs a week down to a rate of loss of one pound a month that suddenly. There are other things that are glitched in my account (like the thing that say lbs. lost, mine still says 1.8 pounds…

Thanks for the help, my height is 70 inches and I have my goal set to 2 lbs a week at lightly active. MFP set me at 1630 calories per day. Within the last 2 months I have been averaging about 1.8 lbs per week of loss.

I just want to jump in and clarify that I was not trying to advocate all males doing 1500, but simply that it works well for me, and that you shouldn't go below it. I also don't work out much and eat back my cals when I do. I get just enough energy and hit my macros but I could of course eat a little more. I just see a lot…

So I read them, very informative on the "plateau myth" issue. I didn't know it was a myth, thought it was a thing. Still have one unanswered question though: is there any data on how far people usually stray from the trend line of loss? In other words is there a complied graph of average rate of loss for similar body types…
