Not sure if someone mentioned yet but how about potatoes and yams. Can do that instead if cooking grains. Just make a bowl of chicken to refrigerate and microwave a yam/potato in the mornings to take with you. If you plan to take your lunch with you and wont have a microwave near you buy a little thermos. They keep food…

Canned foods dont require refrigeration. You can get tuna, chickpeas and veggies. Avocados dont need to be refrigerated. Can you fit 2 bowls of something ? If yes you can make a bunch of grains for the week and another bowl of chicken and with the canned vegetables you have meals for the week.

Havent had cereal in years, this post makes me really want some.

I like probiotic pills that require refrigeration, they seem to help me the best. Check if you have any health stores around, they are usually sold there in a fridge. Wholefoods sells them as well.

your post reminded me about grapes.. try frozen grapes they taste soo good.

@purpleflux Totally agree with what you said, I am not diabetic but had bad hypo as a child which continued into the rest of my life and every time I wouldn't feel good I would panic and eat a lot. I would try to compensate with something sweet or something high in carbs. But all I really needed was just something small.…

This sounds like hypoglycemia, and something ive been dealing with my whole life. However if you arent a child drs no longer recognize it as a condition unless its related to diabetes. So my first suggestion is you need to go to a dr for a checkup and get your blood work done. My second suggestion which is what started to…

I also occasionally have natural fruit popsicles. About 60 calories per popsicle and satisfies sweet tooth.
-
I try to stick to fruits for dessert if i have anything else i always end up eating more than i should.

Another thing that I do sometimes if I know I wont be near a fridge, is heat up my lunch in the morning and put it in a small thermos. Those keep food warm for 4-5 hours.

A lot of places have their calories listed online. Look them up and buy whatever fits your goal. Or instead of fast food try to find places that sell salads and dont forget to add protein to them to keep you full. You can also try preparing your meals and snacks in advance for the week. You can take the meal with you if…

Does he exercise? Maybe a little exercise will build up his appetite? I also heard before that spicy or salty foods increases appetites. Can try adding pickles or something spicy to his meals and see if that gets his appetite going.

Not a scientific fact, but I think expanding stomach takes time and have to do it little by little. Maybe add 50-100 calories every couple of weeks and then gradually increase it every time he gets used to it. I used to be that person who couldn't tolerate too much food but overtime unintentionally my tolerance grew, would…

Agree with this, I have the same problem as OG poster. I make the same meals for both of us but bf will add things like avocados, or a snack after dinner. Also if the meal I am making includes rice or potatoes, I make an extra portion for him. Also sometimes it is hard to eat a large amount of calories in one meal, so…

Love this statement, the mantra on MFP is all calories are equal. They arent, some are more nutritious than others, or our bodies process it differently. I personally prefer the taste of white rice and that is what I eat most of the time, but I know brown rice would be a much healthier alternative so I try to alternate…
-
The reason you are hungry is because of the explanation given above. The glycemic index for white rice is higher than brown rice which means you digest it quickly which means sugar spikes quickly. Glycemic index and sugar spikes don't just apply to those with diabetes, certain foods will make anyone feel hungry quicker…

Be prepared that you might gain some weight and have food cravings. Snacking helped me get through it. I think snacking and gaining a few lbs while quitting should be allowed. Once you get control of the nicotine addiction you can go back to weight and diet goals. This is what I had to do years ago. I quit while having a…

Try eating every 3 to 4 hours but small meals. Divide whatever your current calories are into small portions through out the day. It helped keep my energy stable all day.
-
Thanks all you've been very helpful. Looks like french press is the way to go. Might try the moka pot as well.
-
Thanks any grinder suggestions? Which one do you use?
-
Yes this is exactly what I realized, no matter how big my meal is I will eventually in a few hours feel hungry. So I lowered the calories for all my meals.
-
How does that come out to 150? Seems like a lot of food. Sounds yummy too.

You should still eat tonight. When I oversnack or eat too much during the day I find that I am still starving when dinner comes around and if I try to skip it, I still end up eating late at night because I am too hungry to fall asleep. Eat dinner, maybe skip anything extra like dessert or only have a few bites of it. Don't…

Where did this chart come though? Was this a study? What was the study? Were the autism children born to parents that were eating organic food, were the children eating organic food? I see the point you are making but this chart looks like just numbers plotted without a reasoning to why these numbers were plotted for…

I am sorry in advance if I offend anyone, I am not trying to. But I think these bloggers try to make the best out of a not ideal situation. No one wants to be at a heavy weight, even if they are healthy at the moment eventually it can lead to all types of health problems. Also weight is heavy on us, I am not very…

Right frozen vegetables and frozen fruits are not a problem. Eating frozen meals for every meal and every day could be a problem. But of course if you do it once in a while I dont see it as a big problem.

They are right alcohol is taxing on the liver and body has to work to get rid of it. I believe it even makes sugar drop after getting rid of it. But we do recover from it and as long as someone doesnt have an alcohol problem it shouldnt be an issue.

Didnt realize your calorie goal is low, definitely increase it a little.
-
Thank you, I havent tried listening to books while exercising yet, going to try.

I am not a mother so I cant say I know how you feel. But it seems like the only solution is to make time in the evening by cutting down time spent on making dinner. Make freezer meals, look into a crockpot or something similar.. Anything that will cut down on time spent cooking each day. Also maybe start using plastic…
