  • If you'll use it, yes. I had one and loved it.
  • You don't have to get a Fitbit. You can buy an inexpensive pedometer to track steps. Or look on Craigslist and such for fitbits.

  • You beat me to it. People want to lose weight, but can't even spell it. Scary because my 9yo can.....
  • This is my thought too. I lost my weight with nothing more than this app and some exercise. I did just buy a Fitbit because I was curious since everyone seems to have one now. I really do love it...much more than I thought I would. BUT....it isn't something that is necessary to lose weight if you know what I mean. I think…
  • Yup....I hear ya! I know you're doing a mix of both.
  • Oh...I know I'm in this for a good year anyway.... It's all good because I have made progress, and I'm having fun with it. Was just wondering if maybe I'm missing something I could/should be doing differently... You echoed my thoughts about the hypertrophy/higher weight too. That's why I was wondering if I should just…
  • ^^ I've read that thread, thanks. I'll ask this specifically there though. I really don't want to do a bulk now because I still have a significant amount of fat to deal with. I can't see adding more. I'm down to 125lbs now and don't want to go lower than that however.... Figure I'll see how far I can get with a recomp and…
  • Now that I'm more comfortable with what I'm doing, my goal is to build some muscle/drop fat. Ok. Any input on a program that's better suited?
  • Which do you log the lifting in? Mfp or Fitbit? Or both????
  • I do them on separate days but if they were together, weights are first.
  • Stopping sounds reasonable..,yeah. When is the wedding? I only ask because if it's not coming up very soon and you don't see yourself having a difficult time finding a dress you like, I might be inclined to keep losing now so there's a better chance the dress will still fit after the wedding. Maybe you'll want to wear it…
  • It doesn't matter. As long as you're staying within your calories, just eat what you want.
  • Well....I'm three weeks in now and I'm still at the same weight, which is making me feel that I've found my maintenance spot. With that being said, I never hit eating my "lightly active" maintenance estimate of 1680/day. I'm staying the same at around 1550, which is making me feel that I'm more "sedentary". Sedentary gives…
  • Placenta too. I don't have the time nor the energy to read anything related to this, but I suppose I can see where transferring bacteria could be beneficial in some instances.... Why not? I don't see where this would do anything magical for weight loss though.
  • Me too. I'm a nighttime snacker, so I always leave calories for after dinner.
  • Regularly using a plain old measuring tape. Calipers leave too much room for error. You can find fat percentage calculators online and plug your measurements in. It won't be exact, but gives you an idea of where you fall.
  • That's some wonderful achievement you have under your belt! And good on you for realizing that you're slipping. Even better that you're here and talking about it! That's really wonderful. I have no doubt that you can get right back to where you want to be.
  • Who would I be hiding it from? Myself? I could lie to make my diary look pretty, but I still know I ate it. Logging is only going to work if you do it. Not play games by doctoring it up.
  • I second this. I have really bad cellulite on my thighs. Really, really bad!!! Losing weight has helped, but I swear it's the weight lifting this time that has really helped smooth it out. It isn't close to being gone, but it looks a million times better than when I've stuck to dieting or cardio alone.
  • Hi and welcome! I've been here for 6mos now, and it's truly a great place and a huge help. Best advice I can give is to find a nice group of friends whom you have things in common with. It's great to be able to check in with each other daily and cheer each other on. Next would be to do lots of reading in the forums as…
  • I did this too. You can make a ton of food for dirt cheap! I very rarely bought baby food.
  • Push through. You may have been fit before, but it probably took you time to get there. It's the same thing now. You'll never improve if you don't get started.
  • This
  • I would either push mine around the neighborhood in his stroller (great workout if you have hills!). Or....I would simply announce to hubby that I was going upstairs to use the treadmill for 30mins. Then I would disappear. He could survive for that long with the baby.....
  • I'm feeling this way now that I've gotten down to 125lbs at 5'4. I'm right in the middle of what's a normal weight range, but do feel somewhat bony. I've even discovered that I have a freakish extra rib that's protruding. I googled it, and yes....some people have extra ribs... I think this is how bodies are supposed to…
  • Not unless you decide that's what's going to happen.
  • Legs and booty. I have way too much junk in my trunk. :/
  • Losing slow and steady is a good thing though. And you did lose weight which is great! If you're looking to lose 12lbs over about 11wks, maybe that goal is a bit steep. People who don't have much to lose should really aim for .5lbs/wk. I really wanted to comment on you mentioning the pasta leading to chips, ect. My own…
  • I started maintenance two weeks ago today, so I can only tell what my experience has been so far. I had been eating about 1350/day while losing. I increased to 1450 for a week, then 1500, and now I'm up to about 1580/day. The scale has bounced back and forth slightly, but overall I'm the same weight so far. Eating the…
  • Absolutely. It took sooooo much work to get to where I am now that it is making me a bit emotional. It feels great though. And I do feel a lot better getting to eat more now. LOL! How are your arms doing now Cortney? You look fabulous! I wish I could do the same thing for mine.
