Thanks so much. I'll cut down some more and see how it goes. I had stopped because as I'm getting increasingly smaller on top, my face is starting to look pretty gaunt. I have been measuring, and since starting maintenance around New Years I've lost about 2" overall, so I guess I'm going the right way. Slowly..... There's…

That's kind of what I figured.... Ok. Thanks.

Yup. I had been doing ICF for 4mos, but just switched to PHUL this week because I wanted to do something different.... Should I go back in a deficit and cut down a bit more then?
-
I really didn't want to do this, but just for sh!ts and giggles....this is what I'm working with now.

I do look at friends diaries but I never criticize because it's not my place. We all have different goals and none of us are perfect. I like looking because it gives me ideas on different things to try myself. I keep mine open with the same in mind for them. I don't think having mine open keeps me eating to impress…

I'm only 2mos into maintenance and im still logging everything. I'm going to continue to do so because I'm doing a recomp now and still need to watch portions and macros. Aside from that, I've always been good at losing weight but failed miserably at keeping it off. I'm hell bent on things being different this time so…

I used to use my iPhone to track my steps and transfer them here. Once I got the Fitbit I unlinked the health app though. Fitbit is easier than having to keep the phone in your pocket all day, and it gives a lot more info.

Congratulations! Best thing to do is just keep on doing what you've been doing all along, but start adding some calories back on. I added 100 on at a time (increasing every 5 days or so) until I found where the scale started holding steady.
-
That makes sense. I just don't see where I would want to eat back anything for walking room to room though. :/
-
Yup. It had to be a bug because all of a sudden it straightened itself out. I didn't think Fitbit could do that. Didn't consider bugs.
-
Ok. I don't know what I did on the mfp end then. Thanks.
-
I'm wondering about this too because I'm earning an insane amount of calories just for strolling around.
-
I had a shoulder issue that I saw my dr (who also specializes in sports medicine) for. Turned out it was my rotator cuff, and they were able to give me a list of exercises to do to strengthen it. If it keeps up I would have it checked out.
-
How many calories are you eating a day? You might need to reevaluate the rate of loss you have yourself set to.
-
I was scared too because I've always been good at losing weight, but maintaining....not so much. I've been holding steady for 6wks though, and it really is quite simple. Just keep carrying on as usual, only increase your calories gradually. I did 100 extra for a week, then another 100....and from there saw where I was…
-
I wondered if you could do that!
-
If you look under "cardio" in mfp, "strength training" comes up. I just use that to log my lifting. It syncs with my Fitbit.
-
Well....I tend to agree, but that's where I seem to be settling in. :/ I'm 44yo, and my job/lifestyle are sedentary. I lift 3xs/wk and do 30mins cardio 2-3xs/wk. I'm 5'4 and am trying to maintain at 125lbs. My weight bounces between 124.5-126lbs on 1550cals, so I figure that's about what it is....
-
What's considered a small deficit? I'm maintaining on around 1550/day, so how much is generally taken off of that?
-
It works if you work it. And why wouldn't it at your age, or any age?
-
I was making myself crazy trying to figure out what my calories should be. You do have to decide whether you're going to go by tdee, or mfp and eating calories back because they're two different things. Since my exercise fluctuates too, I'm just using mfp and adjusting calories based on activity. Same as I did before.…

I would say find yourself a good group of friends here, but not by announcing yourself as lazy and unmotivated because no one wants to deal with that. My friends here help me a lot. They all workout and post daily updates. I don't want to be a slacker because then I can't make a post myself. LOL! It keeps me on my toes,…

Why do you find it hard to be around them now? I don't see what the big deal is. If going out to a restaurant or for an ice cream is something you would normally do with them, then order yourself a diet soda and stop being self righteous just because you lost weight. It doesn't give is the right to start being judgemental…

I just wanted to comment on the upper body discomfort. I had the same issue through my shoulders and upper back when I started. I was also so tight that just getting my arms back far enough to hold the bar was killing me. It's gets better as you get stronger and more flexible though. You just have to keep working at it.
-
Can't say I've done it, but I've wondered if I may step into it unknowingly. I've started a recomp and I'm trying to stay right around maintenance calories, but I've wondered if I start going over my allotment by a bit....will it hurt my cause in the long run? I can always cut a bit back off. I dunno.... :/
-
I too have lost my weight over and over again. I've never had trouble getting weight off of me. It's always been the "what to do once I get there" that's tripped me up. I've been maintaining for 6wks now (give or take a pound) which for me is big progress in that regard. This may not be for you at all, but it's what I'm…

5'4" starting weight 157 maintaining now at 124-126

I had mine already when I started dieting. Lost 30lbs and been in maintenance for a month. Didn't affect me in the least.

44yo 5'4 and 125lbs 36/26/36

I already got (and inhaled) my two free bars. Cookie dough and cookies and creme. I hadn't tried them before so I have nothing to compare to, but they were really good!
