@rosebarnalice practicing your script? Not sure I know what that means....heads off to google. Great job on three days!
-
@emmab0902 - Well done!! @nuffer - just make sure when you are pulling on freestyle you are keeping your elbow up and not dropping it. I would trust your coach and Dr. :)

I look at this thread almost every day, and saw this today and thought it appropriate.
-
I think that you went out and tried means a ton! Hopefully you are starting to feel a bit better. Good luck tonight, lots of events!

4500 yards @ 80 minutes. Lane to myself, shoulders feeling it today. Glad tomorrow is a walking day.
-
Love that @opelroy and I have met a lot of those stereotypes...okay all of them, over my years of swimming. When I was younger I was either the crazy distance swimmer or the specialist...I still love my pull buoy and paddles thank you very much!
-
@nuffer Booo!
-
@HappyTrails7 - That sounds like a great way to unwind, going to add that to my list. Thanks!
-
@chamblisk - Love your profile picture!
-
Hey now, I do my Ikea stuff just fine. I do love watching Farback's progress though.
-
4500 yards @ 80 minutes. So motivating to have people faster than I am in the pool!
-
Good luck on what ever you decide to compete in, @emmab0902!

Cross training is wise for those reasons, @girlswithcurls2 and just the mental break from one activity. I look forward to my walks or getting back into the pool after a bit of a break as well. I walk (4.5 to 7 miles) on my days out of the pool because I know gravity plays an important part in balance and strength.
-
There is a Masters team, they actually train part of the year where I swim but at a different time. For me competing is a touch about vanity, there I said it. Though I know that competing would probably up my workout intensity on a day to day basis.
-
My team, the Packers, got knocked out in the playoffs by Atlanta. Perhaps it was because I did not do my karma swim for them. *raising a fist at the Football gods*
-
Wow, great job @fishgutzy!
-
I love hearing about those people who compete. I still don't have the courage to do that, but I have a feeling one day I will. Would love to hear how you do!
-
So a couple thoughts come to mind. If you can make it 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes each day, it is better than one hour long session once a week for improving endurance. Also, endurance comes with efficiency and improving your stroke technique will help you be able to go farther. There are some great videos on…

Welcome @principalviolinist. Nice workout!
-
4500 @ 80 minutes. My arms are tired that it is Friday. Having a focus this week kept my head in the pool and over all better results I believe.
-
Already have you as a friend, but happy to help support! When I started back my first workout was 300 yards. I think I spent more time getting ready and showering, but it was all I could do. You can do it!
-
4500 yards @ 80 minutes. I read a list of 12 things that annoy coaches. Yeah, some of them hit home, like breaths in and out of the wall, lazy push offs (hence that particular focus this week) and of course the ever popular goggle delay. It doesn't matter if your 15 or 50, some things remain the same.
-
Ah when you push off the wall and your hands are separated at shoulder width apart (like when superman flies) rather than being together and streamlined. This is a good explanation on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llQMyM8hR7U

Had to look up the shark drill...cool. May add that in to focus on hand entry a bit. Thanks!

4500 yards @ 80 minutes 500 warm up 10 x 50 @ 60 5 free/5 free/back 5 x 100 @ 1:50 free 5 x 200 @ 3:30 pull 1000 kick with fins 200 stroke technique 10 x 50 @ 60 5 free/5 free/back 300 loosen down Focus for the work out, stop the superman push off and work on streamlining. Amazing how quickly I got back in the habit.
-
4500 yards @ 80 minutes. My warm down was less of that and more a hurry and get out for the age groupers want your lane. It was good though.
-
@fishgutzy Wow...big workout! Well done!
-
It does sum up the cartoon very well.
-
@Roarkinggael - Well done!
-
@emmab0902 - Glad you found out what was causing it. Welcome @OSUbuckeye906! Nice workout.
