  • 30 some odd days in and I’m down about 14 lbs. Here’s hoping I can avoid the dreaded hurricane snacks 😁
  • Fellow Floridian here. I’m 53 and want to lose 40 lbs (at the minimum.) Congrats on your 25 lb loss! I’m on my 9th day at 1200 cal/day using MFP. My clothing is getting looser and that motivates me. 😁
  • I find Slimfast shakes to be a good substitute for the *occasional meal rather than as a full-time diet plan. I prefer making my own with the Chocolate flavored mix over the pre-mixed.
  • . Yeah, we sometimes get so tied up in the details, we forget the basics. I've found whenever I stick to the 1200 cal limit MFP has provided me, I always, always lose weight. I will sometimes plateau for a couple of days, but I never gain weight while calorie counting. For me, it's just a matter of sticking to it. The…
  • Same age as you & I need to lose 35 lbs. Found this post recently and it was most helpful. I'm now down 11 lbs. :) http://www.acaloriecounter.com/blog/why-am-i-not-losing-weight/
  • Right there with you, Gidgetgoescrazy. I'm down 11 lbs in 5 weeks with a goal of 30-35 more lbs. I love beautiful clothing, so looking good in them is my motivating factor. Plus, life is simply easier when not carrying around extra weight. :-)
  • YES, thanks so much, diannethegeek!
  • I'm in! Can no longer do the high impact stuff due to back surgery a couple of years ago. We live in a little coastal community that is perfect for walking, and so I do several mornings per week with my dog, and sometimes with my husband (who has trouble gaining weight. Sigh.) I usually complete 25-30 minutes at a brisk…
  • I'm so impressed with you all! Seeing your before & afters are truly motivating. I finally took a selfie the other day for my "Before" picture (so I can visualize my progress) and I actually covered my face in it. ;) I started MFP - again - 10 days ago and have lost 6.5 lbs to date. My goal is to lose the 40 lbs that have…
  • Impressive! I'm sure I'll have questions over the next few months, so thanks for the offer!
  • Hi Patricia! Middle age & perimenopause, I suppose. :(. I'm 50 in 2 months & need to lose 40 lbs. The good news I've found is that MFP works if you stick with it. I've lost 10 lbs each of the last two times I used it. This time, I'm staying with it for the whole 40 lbs. Cheers!
  • 50 in November. Count me in!
  • YES!. I'm turning 50 in a couple of months. My weight started becoming an issue in my early 40s & I need to lose at least 40 lbs. Perimenopause, hypothyroidism, plus spinal fusion surgery 2 years ago are all contributing factors. . I walk 2 miles 4-5 days a week, and hubby and I keep fairly active with water sports, yet…
