  • I ran the Loch Ness Marathon in 2016 and loved it! The scenery is lovely and the race well organised and friendly. There were lots of water and gel/shotblok stops, in fact, I consumed so many 1/2 packets of shot bloks I credit that to my enjoyment and success on the day! The start is downhill then pretty flat until mile 18…
  • I have used Mastering the Marathon: Time-Efficient Training Secrets For The 40-Plus Athlete by Don Fink for both of my marathons (I wasn't even over 40 for the first one) and I really liked the plan. There are options depending on how much you currently run and whether you want to add cross training in or not and how many…
  • Hi, I'd like some more friends too, sending you a friend request. Good luck with your goals

  • Adding you too, I am in a similar position. Currently training for a half marathon which is 5 weeks on Sunday. I've lost count of how many I've done but it's by far my favourite distance!
  • Wanted to add I also have the kindle app so read the Beck books quite regularly too when I need a boost!
  • I use the 'reminder' app on my phone. It is set to remind me twice a day. My advantage response cards are stored in my 'notes' app right beside it. My list isn't too long so it doesn't take me long to read it twice (or more) a day and as a result I do think of the advantages of losing weight when I'm tempted to stray. I…
