I've started to weight myself daily so I can see the trend for the week. Monday seems to be my heaviest day after the weekend.

It's been 9 months since I was last on here. I've started to focus again on my strength and fitness and I'm now around 5 weeks in to working out. Feel free to add me.

I'm 36 and looking to lose 10lbs. Feel free to add me.

My dumbbells go up to 32kg each or I can get one 40.75kg dumbbell if I combine the weights. I'll give some squats and deadlifts a try.
-
I'll definitely look to include more leg work other than just running but it's difficult when working from home with just dumbbells. I never know what to do for my hamstrings!

Thanks guys. I suppose when I'm only doing 20 mins of working out 4x per week, calories on training or rest days don't really matter as I don't need the optimal amount of calories as I'm not pushing myself hard and don't have much muscle to lose.

I'm in the same boat. I finally managed to stay under 1,800 calories for the first time yesterday. I managed to only have 3 snacks (2 small glasses of Dr Pepper during the day and a bag of crisps at 10pm, when I caved).

Think I've done the same diet minus the liver :-)

I'm seeing a pattern of eating more on training days. Finally managed to stay under 1,800 cals yesterday.

Thanks Mate, hope you're still crushing it!

Sounds good. To ease myself back into training I started with a light weight (one that I could do more than 15 reps with) and performed 4 sets of 10 reps. Each week I hit 10 reps I increase the weight. I've only hit failure on one set so far (3rd set of biceps curls) and had to take a 5 minute break to get the last 10 reps…

When I started working out at 18, I did 12 sets per muscle group over 3 exercises. I've never tried a 3x full body split as I've always assumed the volume would be too lows due to me starting off so high. I'm assuming I'm still a beginner as I've never trained consistently for more than 6 months a year. From age 24 I've…

I'm aiming to fit in one 3 mile run each week on a Wednesday but haven't found the best time to squeeze that in yet. That was going to be my leg training day. Luckily my legs look in proportion to my upper body so I don't worry about them too much. At some point I'll train them to avoid muscle imbalances and to keep my…

And here's my progress so far:

Here's my full workout: Monday: Chest, Triceps and Shoulders Tuesday: Back and Biceps Thursday: Chest, Triceps and Shoulders Friday: Back and Biceps

I don't pay much attention to what MFP says I'll lose in 5 weeks. My main challenge is sticking to a calorie deficit and not snacking as much in between meals. Hopefully I'll have more lower calorie days than maintenance days going forward as yesterday was almost on target.

Last night I refrained from eating after 8pm and finished off at 1,918 calories for the day. I've added up my calories for today and Im around 1,552 with breakfast, lunch, dinner and a protein shake for a snack. If I get hungry I'll eat up to 1,800 calories but I'm trying to have a low day today. To give myself peace of…

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll try a few food and drink substitutes and see how I get on :-)

I've never thought of giving Diet Dr Pepper a try. I'm not a fan of Diet drinks usually. Maybe I can cut out the baguette at lunch to add in more fats, I'm only getting around 20g per day at the moment and i think I'm supposed to have between 50 and 70g per day.

I was having Fruit 'n' Fibre cereal for breakfast but my protein intake was low so I switched from cereal to a shake. Luckily as they're blended in a mixer with fruit, I'm making it through to 11am without feeling too hungry. I mostly snack between 2pm and 5pm and 8pm and 10pm. I think I've just had many weeks of eating…

Yesterday didn't go to plan either. I ended up eating 2,196 calories. My Dinner came to 963 calories (Penne Ragu Alforno) and I had 3 small glasses of Dr Pepper throughout the day. I've added up my calories for today and they come to 1,561. No high calorie dinners to catch me out this time. I also got an early Chest,…

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely need to spend more time warming up as it felt like I had a trapped nerve in my bum/hip on Mondays run. I'm going to try a walking warmup with some dynamic stretching tomorrow for a twice a week run. if that feels ok I'll do 3 miles at a steady pace.
-
Ok, I guess I’ve chosen to run faster rather than further or longer due to family time constraints. I’ve already sprained my ankle a little so I’ve taken a few days off to recover. I’ll make sure I run at a conversational pace as I definitely feel I’m going almost all out on the second mile the closer I get to a 7 minute…

Hey, 35 and from the UK. Feel free to add me.

35 here :-)

How long have you been training for and are you getting enough protein and sleep?
