  • First of all congratulations on getting to the exercise! Three things that I noticed: 1) Do you make your porridge with water or milk? 2) What do you use to fry your sausages in? You need to log everything, every dash of oil, every spray from the oil spray if you use it. You have already done that with the ketchup for…
  • Put all your homecooked food on a plate before you serve it. That way you can weigh out your portion and then stick all the rest on your fiancé's plate. You will learn to eat smart in your own way, and there is a lot of delicious low calorie food out there. Make sure you cook things that you are happy with and find yummy,…
  • Actually, Nutella was the first company to only use ethically sources and sustainable palm oil. Got a french minister in trouble for calling for a nutella tax.

  • Italian national food, and they do source quite responsibly and sustainably. This morning my breakfast plan said nutella toast. I went to bed happy knowing what the morrow would bring. I toasted my bread, and only then remembered that the jar had fallen prey to my Sunday and Tuesday dark hours. Oh well, another go in a…

  • Welcome and good luck. No need to feel bad. You have made a huge step in the right direction to come on here and to make contact. There are lots of supportive people here. This can really be done.
  • Just saw your loss. That is a huge achievement in this time.
  • Kickboxing? Tennis? Waterpolo?
  • I agree. Much tighter and slimmer in the waist.
  • I downloaded a phone app for conversion.
  • Congratulations on the first step. I have a progressive plan. The fitter I get, the more intense the exercise can get. I love thinking about it as my journey towards being a sporty person rather than just as a tool to lose weight. Your favourite exercise are all great. You'll do well with them. Good luck!
  • Hello both, I weigh every day as well but record it away from MFP. The it isn't that bad if the weekly weigh day is off. Mickeygirliegirl, have you started the gym, yet? Your body might just be acclimatising. If there is no budge in a week or two, adjust the way you are recording. We'll help.
  • I have mini chocolates that are individually wrapped and only take one out at a time. Or fruit, or banana bread.
  • Troll answer? If yes, that is quite funny. Sesame noodles, tabbouleh with pomegranate, and looking forward to a steak and mango salsa bbq tonight with corn on the cob. Yum.
  • You are a great example of how you can be beautiful at any weight, and weightloss just carves that out even further and makes you look really healthy as well. Congratulations.
  • And that is what makes it so difficult. You cannot avoid it. You can be addicted to anything, even things like brushing teeth. I have no experience with this, but I would assume planning and logging the entire day in advance, including snacks, might help. Then preportion and only focus on that pile of food that is all…
  • Corn on the cob? Pre-cook the chicken just below done and finish it off on the grill? I often cut up zuccini/ courgettes, peppers, etc, stick in some garlic and rosemary twigs and wrap it into a silver foil package. The'll steam in their own juice on the grill.
  • Can you get yourself some nordic walking sticks and either a training session or a training video? It is like cross country skiing, distributes the impact to your arms, give you resistance training and a workout similar to slow jogging. The sticks make you use 90% of your muscles.
  • I am using the microsoft band 2 and love it. It tracks steps, runs, cycle rides, golf, lots of different workouts, and you can design your own workout and get notified for timing and repeats. It also monitors sleep, has my calendar, shows me texts and emails and more.
  • Thank you all. Some really good suggestions. And quite a few things for me to look up.
  • Thank you for the examples thus far. I'll look into those. But what about the kind of sports that we used to do before gyms were a thing? Does anyone still drag carts or throw logs or something slightly more conventional? Or what kind of team sports are good for getting into shape and losing weight?
  • Love the motivational post-its as well. Great job.
  • Congratulations! You are an inspiration.
  • Got all but the marking done! 1st May: - I will do a yoga session - I will keep to my calorie goal - I will be stricter to myself to get the marking done! - I will make sure that I have at least one moment where I sit back and just remember that life is precious and that it happens now.
  • How do you prepare your meat? I just saw the chicken and the mince and no oil or spices or herbs. All of these add up, or do you just microwave or boil? Keep at it. I keep track of weight in to separate locations, daily outside MFP and weekly on MFP. That means I can see the big steps here but get an idea of fluctuations…

  • Hello all, I am joining afresh! Just for today: - I will go nordic walking - I will keep to my calorie goal - I will get today's set of marking done - I will be kind to myself
  • Hello. I am 45 and am in kg world. Want to get rid of 33 of them in the long run, but first goal is 23. Add me as well, and I shall do more than just like.
  • I know exactly what you mean. I had that problem last time I tried to get rid of my weight. Sadly, I gave up. Now I have found so many different explanations for non-budging weight on here that it seems more part of the process rather than failure. There seem to be quite a few people in the same boat of not losing for the…
  • Hello and thank you for this. I'd love to join forces! My husband has joined me for the first time and we are on day 16. I really don't like the gym, so I am trying to find alternatives. Nordic walking instead of jogging. Swimming and tennis and yoga to start with, and hopefully boxercise and body combat once I get a bit…
  • That is an amazing effort. There are a lot of good comments above. Check the accuracy of your weights and make sure the food you select in the lists has been confirmed by someone. If you are doing it right, you are changing. The measurements are a great idea. Also, have you thought of making your food diary public and…
