Very true. I went on a week-long vacation last summer and when I returned I had more than one staff member at my gym say "We were beginning to worry about you because you hadn't come in for a few days." The other gym regulars notice when someone hasn't been in for a few days as well. We don't talk much (it's early and…

Great accomplishment! My most recent blood pressure check was also a happy one since I went from a high of 138/86 last May to 112/68. Amazing what paying closer attention to your diet and increasing exercise can do!

I procrastinated and waited until the last minute to shop for a suit for an upcoming wedding, My NSV is that I bought a blazer, dress slacks and dress shirt off the rack in a "regular" department store. The best part - none of the items need alterations!

Turned to get off a treadmill as it was slowing down, slipped off the end, and fell to the floor with a thud! I jumped up, yelled "Ta da!" and several people had a good laugh at my expense.

Over 40 years later and I still have a faint gray dot at the base of my finger where my classmate stabbed me in second grade.

I am certain there are many people who have noticed a change but for the reasons described by other posters (consider it rude, not sure if you're doing it intentionally) have chosen not to say anything. That being said, I understand wanting a little external validation; it is nice to hear someone noticed - I hope someone…

My son is a Boy Scout and convinced me to be an Assistant Scoutmaster. Every week, I put on a uniform shirt that is tight in the shoulders (which I don't mind) and the waist (which bothers me to no end). Since my son has no intention of leaving the Boy Scouts any time soon, I am working to make that shirt fit better.

Your hat size changes. I have a number of caps and some of the fitted ones no longer fit because they are too loose. Also, I've lost a quarter of an inch in height because my feet are no longer as fat as they once were!

Height: 5'9" SW: 305 Current: 260 Goal weight: 225 then reevaluate This is my second big weight loss effort. The first time, I "officially" started at 365 and got to 235; over the course of 3 years and a stressful job change, I gained half of the weight back and had to start over. I stopped working out and slowly stopped…

Getting below 260 (again and for good).

I ran my fastest mile in several years - 10:37. I've been running consistently for the last few weeks in the 11:15 - 11:30 range and decided to push myself this morning. Next goal, breaking 10:00. I'm never going to be fast, but I can always strive to be a little faster!

I accidentally threw mine into a dumpster when I was emptying my recycling. There are spacers you can buy until you reach your goal weight and have the ring resized or do what I'm currently doing, wearing a cheap ring until I hit my final weight and purchase a new ring.

The bad news - I fell on the ice this morning. The good news - it was in the parking lot of my gym. After laying there for a few seconds assessing if anything was broken, I dusted myself off and worked out (albeit with slightly lighter weights than usual and running at a slower pace because my ribs are pretty banged up!)

First goal of 2019 is to get back to my low weight from 2018 - currently 5 pounds off.

Love this thread. Have been a metalhead since I was a teenager in the 80's. Still lean heavily on 80-90's metal (Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer & Machine Head are some of my favorites) but finding myself liking a lot of newer bands as well.

Listen to both Monster Truck and Black Stone Cherry. I've seen BSC twice, but haven't had the opportunity to see Monster Truck (yet).

Love Volbeat - no other band out there that sounds quite like them.

The worst critic I have ever experienced is me. It has taken me many years to realize that being kind to myself is simply finding ways to acknowledge I am a work in progress and rather than dwell on my shortcomings, I should focus on the positive changes I'm making in my life. Sometimes it's a matter of changing my…

My 13 year old saw me walking towards the garage and came to the door to give me a hug before I left.

Totally agree - I still struggle with the proper cut/fit for clothes as my default setting is baggy or relaxed fit. Now that my stomach doesn't extend beyond my chest, I'm slowly getting more comfortable with the idea that tailored items look better.

10 years & 100+ pounds. Still have more work to do but glad I’m on the right path.

The untimely death of my father-in-law. He had struggled off and on with his weight over the years. He had two total knee replacements and developed a gastrointestinal issue while struggling to recover from them.

I lean towards prog metal when I run - Russian Circles, Opeth, TesseracT, Meshuggah, Gojira, Between the Buried & Me When I lift - old school thrash. Slayer, Metallica, Testament, Anthrax, Exodus, Overkill, Death Angel

I had to take a photo for work and the photographer told me that I was 'really photogenic" - probably the first time I've ever heard that said to me.
