I'd second the idea for a tracker/Apple watch or a quality pair of shoes (I'm a sucker for a comfortable pair of running shoes). If you're doing a lot of walking/running, a quality pair of shoes makes the workout easier and helps prevents injury. Congratulations on all of your hard work thus far and continued success!

I started over a decade ago at roughly the same weight. I derailed myself on a couple of occasions (losing 130, gaining 90 back on one occasion) but I am now at a weight where I am capable of doing anything I want in my body. I celebrate you on all of your hard work and can't wait to hear about your future accomplishments.…

My birthday is coming up so I had my annual physical today. It was so empowering to hear my doctor say things like "wow, all of your blood work looks great" and "you are completely healthy and I will see you next year." A second NSV that I am equally excited to share is that I completed a 30 day running challenge. There…

Done - with almost two weeks to spare!

Ten years ago, I couldn't run 500 yards without gasping for breath; yesterday, I ran 10 miles. I've had many starts and stops along the way, but that 10 miles serves as a testament to my dedication to myself and is a NSV I achieved on my own terms.
-
My mini-goal right now is to run 10 miles by my birthday at the end of May.

I was pulling my hoodie over my head at the gym and accidentally took off my T-shirt as well. The NSV is that in the past, I would have been self-conscious of someone seeing me without a shirt. Today, I calmly separated the T-shirt from the hoodie, laid the hoodie down and put my T-shirt back over my head. I don't think…

I'm vegan and I get most of my protein from legumes, quinoa, nuts, tofu and the occasional protein shake - there are several good options on the market. I also indulge in the occasional Beyond/Impossible burger or chick'n - high in fats and sodium but scratch an itch as a former carnivore.
-
I get it - it took me forever to be able to graciously accept a compliment about my weight loss - partly because I was (and still am) self-conscious about my appearance. For me, I have to assume it's well-intentioned and take it in that spirit. I usually thank them for noticing and try to pivot the conversation to…

My workload has been a bit overwhelming as of late and yesterday, the stress finally broke me. I ended up eating like a trash panda - I scavenged every last bit of food in my desk and ate out of bags and boxes once I got home. The NSV? I still worked out even though I didn't feel like it. Sweat is therapeutic.

The vegan Orgain is a solid choice - 21g of protein and 150 calories/serving. I like the chocolate fudge flavor in plant-based milk. I also like the Huel Complete Protein but it is expensive compared to other options.
-
Top 5 food items: 1) Beans - canned or dry. Canned for when I fail to plan, dry for when I plan for days of meals. An inexpensive meal option with lots of protein and fiber. 2) Cole Slaw mix - perfect for throwing into stir-fry or adding as a filling for wraps. Another inexpensive yet filling option. 3) Huel hot and savory…

Vegan here. I don't always log every meal, but you're welcome to add me and find ideas in my diary

I use Lifesum as well. Things I like about it: the barcode scanner is available on the free version and it gives you a general rating for your meals. Things that could be improved on Lifesum: there's no social element to the app and if you want any detail about why a meal was good or bad, it's only available through the…

I started at roughly the same weight as you. It's taken a long time, with a lot of successes and setbacks along the way, but I finally reached and have maintained a weight where I am comfortable in my own skin. Some unsolicited advice: 1) use a food scale and log your food. It can be quite a surprise when you find out your…

Hope everything is going well for you so far. If you have a bad day, remember, the next day can always be a new Day 1. There is no real end to committing to a healthier lifestyle, but always a chance for new beginnings.

Ooooh! I love America's Test Kitchen - I'll have to seek those books out. My primary resource is following vegan sites/influencers on Instagram to pick up recipes. I was honestly surprised at the number of good, and often simple, recipes and hacks I've found on the site.

@momopeach32 I will have to try their cream cheese. I used to eat more bagels prior to going vegan; now I have one, I usually use peanut butter on it
-
Stir fries are easy meal options too - a little oil, sauce/spices, vegetables, a protein source on a bed of rice or noodles. Quick and easy
-
@momopeach32 pizza is a challenge and I've yet to find a vegan mozzarella that mimics the taste/texture of dairy. I've learned to go without "cheese" instead of using substitutes most of the time.

I became a vegan almost a year ago. Initially, I did it for health reasons. Even after losing weight and exercising on a regular basis, my cholesterol and blood pressure were a bit higher than I expected so I eliminated the primary dietary source of cholesterol, animal products. I thought I would miss meat, dairy and eggs…

I've used the vegan chocolate and vanilla powders from Orgain and been happy with the results. I didn't think they were chalky and liked the taste.
-
Point taken. That being said, I am in great condition and have no other health concerns.
-
Yesterday I learned a new term following an EKG for an upcoming medical procedure - sinus bradycardia. It's a heart rhythm that's slower than expected (fewer than 60 beats per minute for an adult) but otherwise normal. It could be indicative of certain heart conditions or just a sign that a person is in very good shape…

I'd say at around 40 pounds or so (I've lost 110 total). The best are when you run into someone you haven't seen in some time and they take a slow look at you before saying hello - it happened to me twice last weekend.
-
I literally just changed my profile pic the other day after I realized I was about 40 pounds heavier in the one I had been using!

My wife and I attended a wedding out of state over the weekend. When I checked into the hotel, I handed the night manager my ID. He took a look at it, then a second look and said "It looks like you've lost some weight since this picture was taken."

None of my fitted baseball caps fit :/

I am officiating a wedding in a couple of weeks and will be wearing a tuxedo for the first time in a very long time. My mini goals are to do a great job of performing the ceremony for my friends and to look good in the photos.
