Well done dude, keep it up.

Congrats, 2.1 pounds in a week is awesome!

Many people struggle with restaurant portion size. My strategy is to ask them when I'm ordering it, if they can just put half in a togo box as soon as they're done prepping it. That way you get a reasonable amount of food on your plate and don't feel like you "have to finish it". Plus you have left overs.

Keep in mind soreness is natural, however a loss of functional movement is not. If you work out and 2 days later you can't reach your arms above your head because it you're in excruciating pain... that's not good and you're over doing it.

Hello, I'd love to join!

Welcome back, hope you healed well.

Liquid calories are a killer, they're the only kind of calories that don't make you feel full. Drink 500 calories in soda... you'll be just as hungry as if you didn't drink anything. Eat 500 in cookies? You'll feel a bit fuller. I'm not saying you should eat 500 calories in cookies obviously, just an example.

For me my turning point was seeing myself in friend's pictures. I was officially the chubbiest guy in all of them. I know you shouldn't judge yourself based on your friends but still... I don't want to be the fat friend. Part of the problem I think is how my body stores fat. My face still looks skinny even though I'm 35ish…

Absolutely incredible

I absolutely can not kick my diet rockstar addiction. I am down from 2 a day to just one but... I love those damn things.

Work is slow :(

I was always a huge soda guy, I recently picked up a Soda stream and it's like magic. I don't add any flavors to the carbonated water and I find that it satisfies the "drink something other than water" craving I always have... with 0 calories and no added chemicals (besides the CO2 I guess).

I was kind of surprised how many calories were in bread but when I looked at cutting it out I realized without it I wasn't eating enough calories around lunch time.

Does this mean that where your body likes to store fat first means you'll lose it there last? Unfortunately for me almost all of my extra weight goes to my stomach. If you saw just a picture of my arms, legs or face you'd think I wasn't overweight at all... then giant beer belly.

This is true however... I think people tend to underestimate the calories in the "junk" they're eating. Going out for a night with the guys? Bacon cheese burger, some fries and a couple of beers? Easy to hit 3000 calories in an evening if you're not careful.

Nice to meet you, good luck!

Crap, this guy is onto me.

Exactly, your body can burn excess protein for fuel (calories) but can't really use carbs or sugar to rebuild damaged muscle tissue. You don't need to eat ridiculous amounts of protein but there isn't really a reason to artificially lower it.

I'm new here too but I've found so far people are already super supportive.

I hate logging food with a passion, I hope it becomes easier. I think I'd rather run a 5k every day than log my meals... and I hate running. Counting calories however tedious does work though I'm told.
-
Congrats on losing the 35, that's not an easy thing to do.
-
Good luck to you!

This is kind of like the "no 0 day" lifestyle. Basically you do *something* every single day, no off days. That might be as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator but could also be an intense workout. Basically you should make it a daily thing where you chose to burn a few calories.

For me I tend to gain weight so slowly that I don't even realize it. I was in pretty good shape in my early 20's but I was gaining about a little under pound a month. Doesn't seem like much but that's over 30 pounds in 3 years.

An improv comedy show and I'd insist we sit in the front row.

I'm a newbie too but I've been through the weightloss process once before. The easiest way for me to avoid binge eating was to do the following: Plan out meals (really just dinner for me) 2 to 3 days ahead of time. This way I don't order a large pizza and eat the whole thing. Never grocery shop when hungry. If invited out…
