I am finding many of your goals very interesting. I see your goals and think; hey, I should try that. But, I better just stick with the things I've started and add on later. I hope you feel better soon, b3achy. I had a cold for New Years and it has taken me a while to start feeling normal. Sadly, that is just starting in…

Where are those forums nvmomketo? Are they outside of MFP? I don't see them.

I take these and folic acid. I know a lot of people say you just Pee it out and/or it isn't in the right form for our bodies to use BUT I no longer listen to that. My DR ran tests and my vitamin D was on the low end. He didn't mention it but I desided to supplement because winter was coming. Just 30 days later I have the…

A really good cookbook is Paleo Takeout. I don't follow paleo, or even really know what it is, but I found a lot of recipes that work for me. There are substitutes for dairy, cheese, etc. if you don't want to eat dairy.

Thank you!! I've given up on seeing an allergist. I've asked through the years and -- well, next time I will just push harder. entwife, you've inspired me to keep pushing harder. I am going to do a longer challenge and be more patient about testing foods. I am glad to hear that it worked for you

@sidesteel that is great advice. And, you were very clear. Thank you! Sometimes I try programs that are too far above me and just dread them. So far, 10 minutes isn't a big deal. It goes fast and gets me toasty before going outside (it is cooling off here). Have a good night!!

I'm new. I have searched for TMT and didn't see much. And, nothing specifically about doing TMT and adding a walk.
-
Thank you for doing this. I think enough means to be healthy and fit--to maintain muscle while losing weight. It is kind of hard to answer. Will it at least start a body transformation?
-
What do you think of doing Horton's 10 minute trainer and a 40 minute moderate walk? Is it enough with a desk job?
-
I also agree with that.

Sabine Stroe, that is GREAT and you have chosen some really good books. They are eye openers. Since you seem to have a good grasp on the concept, as do I, I am curious what stood out for you. I have watched some great documentaries that have really changed how I think about food and dieting as well.

It took longer for my blood glucose to lower. My first fasting test was 117. I didn't really think I would have a high number (not that high). I started counting sugar grams and I still had a hard time getting my BSG under 100. Once I finally quit counting sugar grams and starting eating more vegetables and less processed…

A lot of rules? read the label, gasp. You're right. Snickers are super healthy. Maybe if the OP had a snickers there wouldn't be a calorie deficit. This is about the original poster, right?? Oh, wait.

I agree. It is so hard to get accurate information. I would love to find one that has minimal ingredients, no aspartame, low sugar and tastes decent. There is one from Thorne that was recommended by JJVirgin. I took her word for it because I find it overwhelming to figure out which ones are good.

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! We all have our own paths and how we get to our health goals isn't as important as getting there.
-
I am disappointed you didn't get more support. It is your life and your choice. Please come back as you learn to eat healthy and let us cheer your successes. It isn't easy no matter how you choose to do it. Best of luck to you.

This is really well said and explains it so well.

You know what--eat it--knock yourself out. I don't care. Greek yogurt is better than regular. Greek yogurt had more protein and less sugar. Don't get flavored. I do not eat processed foods-including yogurt. That is a choice I have made for myself. For those not wanting to go that far is it better to read the ingredients…
-
That's not the question though. The question is how in the world do you define greek yogurt (or any yogurt for that matter) "unprocessed".
When did I say greek yogurt is unprocessed?? I said to check the ingredients. Don't get any with aspartame or added fructose. To get it plain and mix it yourself.
-
I tend to agree with that. I can't say for sure that is what MFP means BUT I think common sense and healthwise you're fine with sugar in fruit with all of it's wonderful fiber. I guess you can adjust if you have problems losing weight. If you're losing weight stick with what you are doing.
-
Remember that I said plain greek yogurt--greek yogurt is strained more to get remove more of the whey, lactose, and sugar. It can have double the protein and 1/2 the sugar (read the label). I didn't want it to be true but I looked at the labels and I have found greek yogurt to be much better.
-
I said the opposite; Greek yogurt is much better. Read the labels and check the ingredients--too many ingredients I would nix it and keep looking. I don't know what is in Optimum protein powder. Again, if I wanted to add protein powder to my diet I would look for one with the least added ingredients. Any added aspartame I…

Good vs Evil---meh, I don't know. Here is what I believe and I am a little surprised it didn't come up in these 4 pages. Processed foods are not good for you. No matter how easy they are, no matter how tasty they are, processed foods have junk added to them that aren't meant to be good for you. Adding fructose to food has…
