I think I am sensitive to nuts

A while ago I did an elimination diet. It was pretty horrible--but I muscled through it. I had peanuts and had stomach cramps that night and bowel issues the next day. It was a cheat so I didn't check it again. I only did the detox for 14 days.
In an effort to lower my fasting blood glucose I am eating pretty clean. I have felt great. Most shocking is that my allergy issues/constant sinus congestion has been gone. Last weekend we bought nuts and I have had some every day for the last 4 days. Now my sinus issues are back. I got my first headache today. My body aches a little (my arms feel like I had a great workout yesterday type of sore).
I've just read a few things about symptoms of being sensitive to nuts. The article said 20-40% of people have nut sensitivities. I'm going to stay away from nuts for a while. I am not convinced that is what is going on but--I don't like having headaches so I am going to give it a try.
Does anyone have sensitivity to nuts? Can you identify with what I have written hear? I am just trying to figure out what is going on.

It's hard to know about the peanuts based on what you wrote here. For now stopping eating them. Read ingredients on packages carefully.
I hope you feel better.0 -
You should probably make an appointment with an allergist.0

Going on elimination diets can make you more sensitive to things. It's impossible to say if it was the nuts that caused it workout knowing what else you have been eating. Are you keeping a food diary? Usually if you want to challenge a food you need to have a good serve three times a day (unless of course you are having a serious reaction in which case you stop and seek medical help! )
I've done 2 or 3 elimination diets and it's such a pain when you just aren't sure what's causing the reaction. I would stop eating them, wait for symptoms to subside and then do a proper challenge.
Its hard but so worth it. I cut 4 major foods from my diet and I feel sooooooo much better!0 -
Thank you!! I've given up on seeing an allergist. I've asked through the years and -- well, next time I will just push harder.
entwife, you've inspired me to keep pushing harder. I am going to do a longer challenge and be more patient about testing foods. I am glad to hear that it worked for you

Its very frustrating isn't it! I've had allergies for years, and some are proven by testing but others you just can't prove because the tests don't exist. Which is why a lot of doctors don't respond when you talk about symptoms they can't test for. If it's not in their training or their bag of tricks, they just can't help you! I've had lots of alternative tests, some of which were useful but the only thing that's absolutely certain about them is that they cost $$$ lol
Good on you for deciding to keep pushing it. You can be your own detective. Elimination diets can be tricky but very helpful. Good luck with it all
