  • Exercised: Yes Calories: Yes Tracked: Yes @craigo3154 thanks for the encouragement  I'm definitely finishing this challenge - it is very insightful to see where the calories are going and more importantly, am I getting enough of various nutrients...it's my first run and I expected a little bit of a challenge to stay…
  • Exercise? Yes Tracked food? Yes In budget? No, by 3 calories :( this is my third strike but I will continue - this is a very interesting learning process: I eat when bored so need to stay out of the kitchen when not cooking and have some low cal options available and not a handful of nuts. Food needs to planned out so I…
  • Exercised? Yes Tracked? Yes In Budget? Yes
  • Exercised? Yes Within Budget? No again...over by one small scoop of premium ice cream...but it was GOOD ice cream Tracked it all? Yes
  • bored out of my mind and waiting for the workers to finish up a building project in the house....I've wandered down to the kitchen so many times to mindlessly eat something just to pass the time - and I've resisted each time but I really do want something to eat!!
  • nope I missed it today - forgot to put something in the food journal - so I'm over my calorie budget...taking a pass day today
  • Exercise? Yes Calories? Yes-BARELY!!!! Tracked? Yes
  • May 2 Exercise today? Yes Stay within calorie budget? Yes Track food/beverages? Yes
  • Exercise 20 minutes? Yes Stay within budget? Yes Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, this was difficult - I do the cooking and tasting along the way and picking on the leftovers as I pack them up...this will help me to curtail these bad habits. I've also got the food scale out and weighing everything !!!
  • :D B) :D Okay, was looking at some 5K races to give me another incentive in this challenge and so many look at a woman's weight and if you're over 150 pounds you are in the "Athena" category...LOL the goddess of wisdom and warfare - A woman would have the wisdom NOT to base entries on weight and the knowledge that warfare…
  • Hello everyone I’m Robyn from the Western Massachusetts, USA. I put almost 1000 miles on my car just going to doctors last year for a variety of issues…I’ve been cleared to exercise and I’m chomping at the bit to get back into it! I miss my in shape body! I know that what I eat has a big bearing on how I feel (emotionally…
  • Great timing on the thread - soap making as my creative project for this year and I've just started looking into sites.
  • for the start of week 3 I am down 5 lbs down and.5" on the waist :) yay! food tracking has been really helpful to keep me from overindulging and the knees have stopped aching so I'm back on the treadmill and walking outside when it's warm (relatively warm - this is winter in New England anything over 30 is warm at this…
  • been slow this week - recovering from shoulder injury and the knee starts acting up :( on the flip side - this is a good reminder of why I need to loose the weight :) I didn't exercise yesterday (giving everything a break LOL) but I did manage to walk past the gourmet donut shop WITHOUT going in! No weight loss, I need to…
  • I got mine last year and love them! Although I don't spend much time on roads, I've been really good about rinsing them off since we have a lot of garbage that gets put on the roads etc and it tends to be corrosive to other equipment
  • Snowshoeing is great! I envy your flat praries - I live in the middle of a mountain so no matter where I go I've got a hill work out :)
  • stability balls are great! 2 points - they are made of plastic so you can get a sweaty bottom if you are in a warm room and you sweat alot. Also, too much caffeine and I tend to bounce on the ball - not bad when the door is closed and nobody can see me but...
  • I've been doing 3mph for the walk and 4mph for the jog section. I do need to take it down a notch though -walking stairs is a little painful this morning- I'll back it down to 3.5 or 3.8 - whatever gets me at a good brisk walk. I also worked at 1/2 week intervals  doing 1/2 the number of intervals and and walking…
  • thanks for the meditation ideas - I tried the counting and it helped - I've decided to go with number of breaths rather than time frame...I'll try the body scan routine today-keeping the mind busy on me and not the outside world sounds good update: I haven't lost any weight but I've been consistent with the exercise adding…
  • congrats on the weight loss!! The tracking has helped me so much - I try to pre enter the food so I can see just how nutritious (or not so) a food is and it has helped me to eat one serving and if hungry to have some fruit or veg (I've got access to organic carrots-yum) - I've also found it's great to compare similar foods…
  • [/quote] OMG, I hated the idea of those coloring books because it seems so juvenile but someone gave one to me with pencils as a gift and I tried it one night...it WAS very relaxing! I have started to do this in the evening sometimes when I have nothing to do to keep my hands occupied. Glad I am not alone! Also, got a…
  • Just started Meditation this week myself...same reason. It is totally new to me so I have been using an app on my phone to do a 20 minute relaxation. I've got work to do but it helps! Other than that just getting my workouts in helps me maintain my sanity! I started almost a year ago of trying to think of exercise as…
  • Sounds like you're doing well, keep working through the shoulder but don't push yourself too hard you need time to recover! Maybe meditation just isn't for you? I certainly can't do it! I find my mine wanders far too easily and I start over thinking things. Are you doing meditation just for stress relief? If so maybe see…
  • This week went ok for me, I'm working through healing a shoulder injury so the going is slow to avoid aggravating it. A high blood pressure reading (170/92) really freaked me out the other night - but pain can increase bp so I'm using it as a reminder to keep my butt moving. I started the couch to 5K program this morning…
  • heading towards my 50th bday and knowing I'm in the worst shape of my life. High blood pressure and obesity run in the family and the holiday get together definitely showed me examples of what I don't want to become. We also have a couple gardens (veg, berries and flowers) on the property that I would like to be able to…
  • I collect the regurgitavite fluids of 50,000 insects and relish in consuming it
  • still working through a shoulder pain but walking with my hand in a coat pocket keeps it from swinging so keeps pain to a minimum - pt and 2 walks before lunch doing good today
  • Tuesday Check-in I survived the holidays LOL -The goodies have been packaged away- I couldn't throw out the goodies - so they're in the freezer in the basement - I have no desire to eat any of it - when I'm meal prepping I need to cut extra veg since I snack on them :) so the diet side of things is going well. Although the…
