  • Hi Elisa. I had the same problem and it drove me mad. To solve this I put my fasting window off until later, eating between 6-10. Sometimes even later. It worked! Seems I can go without eating indefinitely during the day I keep my mind on other matters but when the sun goes down, I have trouble controlling myself. When I…
  • I'm sure that would work just fine. IF can be practiced any way that fits into your life but it's not about counting calories. The main thing is the timing between meals and when you eat, eat normal portions. Of course, whole foods are better and cut out the ultra processed foods, seed oils, sugars and high carbohydrates.…
  • I've been practicing IF for 3 years. I went off for 5 months last year and it took just as long to lose what I'd gained but I LOST IT and am now slowly but consistently losing again. As of today, I've lost AND MAINTAINED 72 pounds! My goal is to lose 100 so just 28 to go!
  • @michaeladharris I hope you get in this time too. I'd like to know what your testing shows. I've been practicing IF with a high protein, whole foods diet for 2 years and my health has vastly improved. My skin is smooth and clear. I never use moisturizers as it's naturally moisturized. Skin tags gone. Hair and nails strong.…
  • @michaeladharris That's too bad. Hope you get in later. Sounds like an interesting study and a great way to measure your success
  • @michaeladharris I hope you do too. Keep us posted.
  • @michaeladharris How exciting to be participating in that study! Please share your results.
  • @michaeladharris You're doing great! Keep up the good work. I'm maintaining a 60 pound weight loss and over the past 3 years, I've reversed ALL my chronic diseases as a result of IF and a whole foods/low carb/high protein diet. Reversed diabetes, kidney disease, IBS and Coronary Artery Disease. My skin is moist and…
  • MFP discontinued the news feed, so I won't be here any longer. I don't count calories or have regular exercise to track so other than logging in my weight, I have no need for it. Having friends who were supportive on the news feed on a daily basis was the only reason I was here. Their support was instrumental to my weight…

  • @Joy1580vb ... I had to look up Newfoundland & Labrador as I had no idea where it was. Looks beautiful and this must be one of the best times to go there. Have fun and take pictures to share with us!

  • @ssfx50 ... So funny. I could smell the bread fresh out of the oven. One of the great pleasures in life.

  • @Joy1580vb ... How I wish I lived close by when you harvest your tomatoes. Nothing better!

  • Absolutely!!!! I had a "perfect" eating day then ate some Kozy Shack puddings at bedtime. (They had been on sale BOGO but I shouldn't have bought them.) There were 4 little containers in each package, and I ate all 8 of them!!! I felt a little bad about it but then told myself that it could have been worse, and at least I…
  • @Joy1580vb ... Homemade buns! Oh my. What I wouldn't give for one of them popped fresh out of the oven. Fortunately, I'm not that good of a cook so no buns here... lol... but I make killer soups and salads. @jonni82014 ... Pay no attention to the scale. I find that it fluctuates too much to take seriously. I hold fluid…

  • Absolutely!!!! We have a nice group here of ladies within a similar age, and we understand the difficulties we face in losing weight and becoming healthier. I didn't start this group but I'm a regular poster. Post often and we'll root you on!

  • I'm down again today for a total of 8.5 pounds lost in 3 weeks. I'm really proud of myself and so encouraged to continue on with the food and the way of eating that's working for me. It took me 3 years to figure it out but I'm on the right track now. Everyone is different and once they find what works for the, just be…

  • @ssfx50 ... I enjoyed reading your post. So, you're in Florida too so you know what a heat wave we're having. My plumerias love it but my water bill might just break the bank. (It's due and I shudder to think what it will be.) Losing 33 pounds since January is outstanding! Way to go! If you're like me, I don't eat very…

  • "NEVER give up and always get back on the horse and try. I know it’s Saturday but get out there and TRY THE DAMN THING. BEASTMODE RRAAWWRR #KEEPTRYING" Love it! I have my game plan for today and will stick to it.... After all, success is "one day at a time".
  • Update: Heart procedure can't be done on Monday. The office is working on rescheduling, but it'll be next week... might even be Wednesday. I hope so as I have a nice luncheon that's been on the books for a while for Tuesday and I'd like to be there. I'm feeling fine. Will keep my friends here posted.

  • RRAAWWRR!!! I don't know where everybody is but I'm roaring all the way from Florida! I love this thread.
  • @jonni82014 ... I'm sure you're very proud of your grandson... What an outstanding achievement! He must have inherited some smart genes from you! Glad your muscle is better. @Joy1580vb ... I know how you feel about growing plants. I love working with my plumerias and seeing and smelling their pretty blooms. I care for them…

  • I'm going to have to cancel my walking goal for this month. Having heart issues and a heart procedure next week. Have to "lay low" for a while. Hope everyone meets their goals for this month! See ya latah!
  • "Don't be afraid to go after what you want to do and what you want to be, and don't be afraid to pay the price to get it." Great quote and so true. Your reward is commensurate with your effort! If you don't put in much, you don't get out much. BTW, I'm loving this group.
  • annliz, so glad to see you here! Thanks, everyone for your concern. A heart catheterization was recommended, and I opted to leave the hospital and have it done by my #1 rated Cardiologist (who I've been seeing for 9 years) on Monday, June 10th. If there's anything wrong, I trust him. In the meantime, I'm not doing anything…

  • My leg muscles are getting stronger but I'm very tired.... so will listen to my body and not do so much today. Not going to strive for 2500 steps. Feel I need rest.
  • My motto is "whatever it takes".
  • Uh oh.... I've been trying to up my walking since my knee has healed. It left my leg muscles weak and in need of strengthening. I worked up to 2500 steps a day. Not a lot but was better than what I've been doing. So, Sunday I walked around the flea market and ran some errands to get my steps in and yesterday I was so tired…

  • Went to the flea market, walked around (had to find a place to sit at times) but got my 2500 steps in. Tomorrow I'm going for 3000.
  • Love it! That's what I've been doing. Giving myself little goals that are doable and assessing how I did at the end of the day.
