Welcome to the boards! Just curious why you have chosen to focus on body fat percentage. Most of us just focus on weight. But I suppose body fat is a better measure of health, cardiac risk, etc. Good luck!

Welcome to the boards! What are you doing to lose weight? Best of luck. I'll add you to my friend list.

Regardless of the opinions of others, you should do it for yourself. You will feel better about yourself and you will begin to feel more than good enough, pretty enough, and smart enough!

I will add you as a friend. Welcome to the boards. What are doing to lose weight? Best of luck!

Funny how exercise never seems to be the key for me for losing weight. Sure, we all know exercise burns calories and boosts metabolism. And I do work out a lot. But for me, calorie intake is the key factor. In any case, we're here for you!

Well, do you have a need to be overly concerned about sodium? I mean, we all know too much sodium is not good for us, but I myself have never paid much attention to sodium because my blood pressure has always been normal.

Don't lose hope! You can do it and our support will help. I'll send you a friend request.

Yes, I agree with Carlala. iPhones have built-in pedometers and I assume Androids do, too, although if not I bet an app can be easily downloaded. It's always good to see in numbers your progress. Keep up the good work!

Wow, that's amazing! Welcome to the boards and keep up the great work!

Don't worry about calories while you are sick. Just try to eat healthy and take it easy and relax and let your body heal. There is plenty of time for counting calories and dieting later.

Keep up the great work!

Welcome to the site, Kim! And you have good words of advice.

Bud Select 55 is 55 calories. Miller 64 is... you guessed it... 64 calories. Also they have only half the alcohol content of regular beers. Sure, they taste pretty crappy but OK for washing down food or when you don't want a sweet drink. I also drink them when I smoke cigars because the strong taste of cigars overpowers…

Could be fear of success. We don't believe we truly deserve health and fitness. Our old ways of being are comfortable and we are afraid of change.

Seems like taking a couple of days off from the gym shouldn't affect your weight. Let's say you burn 500 calories when you go to the gym. Miss two days a week, that's 1,000 calories you didn't burn. That would only be less than a third of a pound gained, which wouldn't even show on your scale. Could just be a coincidence.…

Welcome and good luck! I know you can do it!

The site and app are amazing. I especially love the barcode scanning feature, and the scan data base is huge. Welcome and good luck!

Apart from the food issue, are you guys good partners? Or are there other underlying problems? I'm just saying look at the guy from the broad perspective and weigh the good versus the bad. And he needs to make the same judgements of you.

You can do it, buddy. We're here for you!

Welcome back! Lots of support going your way from Houston, Texas!

Conventional wisdom would be to eat 3-5 meals per day, but hey, whatever works for you. Everyone's different. I'll probably catch some flak for this response.
-
Yes, exactly. That's 500 calories a day you need to cut IF you want to lose a pound a week. Maybe that's too much or not enough weight loss for you. Any combination of reduced calorie consumption or calories burned in exercise.
-
Who cares about the bikini, it's what's underneath that counts, lol.
-
Undercut your current weekly calorie consumption by 3500 calories, whether through diet and/or increased exercise, and you will lose one pound.

You are struggling with various issues and I think it may not be reasonable to have as a goal to be a "skinny bride". That's a lot of pressure on yourself. Perhaps a more reasonable goal would be to just get on the right path and to have made some progress by the time of your wedding. And congratulations!

If I am still fighting the battle at age 65, you can certainly do it at 40! Take it easy at first and always remember to be kind to yourself. Good luck!
