When I had a Samsung phone, it would let me alter the active entry before I submitted it. I did not see a way to go back in time in Drivebit. However, on the iPhone version I have now, it doesn't seem to allow me to change it at all (could be a user issue). In those cases, you would still have to log it into Fitbit.

I find mine very accurate, as long as I use DriveBit to mark my drive time (it gives me false steps). I have been eating back all my calories and have consistently lost at the expected rate.

And caraway seeds would be very expensive ;)

Are you saying you are confused by the fact that you don't lose some every day/week in a consistent fashion? That is completely normal. Everyone's body is like that. Or are you saying you are not losing at all?

I use Drivebit. It's a small app that integrates with Fitbit. It is a simple "start" and "stop" app for driving. At the end of your drive, it will log it to Fitbit for you, and erase any erroneous steps for the duration.

Exercising earns more calories, if your calorie goal came from MFP. That being said, how much of them to eat back depends on the source giving you the calorie burn. MFP estimates high. The recommendation is to eat back 50-75%.

I agree, nice idea. I am lucky, hubby and I plan each night after the weekend grocery trip (he is the cook). I always know what is coming up.

One this is missing from the infamous chart, in my opinion. Luckily, @diannethegeek usually fills that in. That is her #4, recalculate your goals about every 10 lbs.

I have had no problems today.

Do the hungry days coincide with your TOM? Many women report increased hunger at that time.

Reading these threads, I realize that I work with a great bunch of people. Most everyone is aware of my desire to lose weight (and it is quite visibly obvious now) and I have had nothing but encouragement. If offered the office donut and I decline, I get "good for you". When my boss wanted to do a pizza reward lunch, he…

Well, I don't have 100 to lose anymore, but am 86 in with 40 to go. Just get started and perhaps break it up into smaller goals, without deadlines. Good luck!

Is this your first day with the Fitbit? Did you set your activity level the same on MFP and Fitbit?
-
Nope.

Salad without dressing is ...no, just...no.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. <3

Right there with ya, @motivatedsister !

Use the MFP recipe builder. Weigh the container you plan to use for cooking. Note it. As you prepare, weigh each ingedient and enter the info into the recipe builder. Weigh the container again, with the food contents. The weight now minus the the weight of the container noted before is the weight of the complete recipe. I…

I mainly bring leftovers from dinner - fish/chicken with veggies, homemade soup (Chicken Taco Soup a big favorite). If not, I do a lot of wraps, mainly tuna/onion/relish/egg/fat free mayo/Laughing Cow cheese or individual chicken salads I buy at Costo, with tomatoes/cucumbers on the side.

Excellent post. Good for you!

Oh, I know, and I plan to!

Can't remember exactly how long ago I recalculated, but not very long ago. I am thinking a month, but it could be closer to six weeks. I do think that is the answer, but normally when I have recalculated and kept the same goal, the change was 40-60 calories. I was just surprised by 100. Oh well, I have plenty of calories…

No kidding on the bolded text. My husband thinks I am definitely spooky now. I can't tell you how many times, since using the scale, I can reach into a package of shredded cheese and pull out exactly 14 grams. Last night I really freaked him out by pouring out 51g of cereal to a "T" without batting an eye.

Yep, a picture is worth a thousand words. Congrats :)

Just my opinion, but I believe no one needs weight loss surgery unless their life is in immediate danger. The lifestyle still has to change to have any long lasting effect. So many think the surgery is a magic pill and it is just not true. I find it kind of fascinating that many seem to believe that surgery will make them…

I find I actually prefer the app to the website. I have it on my iPad and phone.

I agree with other posters, likely caffeine or sugar withdrawal, but you do really need to figure out a way to consume more water.

No, sorry @Desire2DoRight , if you are using MFP calorie goals, he is dead wrong. He is assuming MFP works from TDEE, and it doesn't, it uses NEAT. You ARE supposed to eat (at least part) of your exercise calories back. Unless your estimates are too high, that is not your issue.

How wonderful that you managed to pull out the correct information from the plethora of misinformation in this thread! Impressive.
