I know it's frustrating and it's hard when you put the weight back on. I went on a liquid diet a few years ago and lost 100 pounds. I went from 397 to 296. Then I just lost focus and just couldn't continue the liquid diet any more. Within 6 months I was back up to 390 again. It took me a couple more years to even have the…

I'm no where near you but I know what those kind of snow storms are like. Enjoy your soup, stay in if you can, stay warm and stay safe. I hear spring is only 8 weeks away!

Exactly! This can be done and you don't need to throw a bunch of money at it. I decided that when I quit going to weight watchers classes when I knew more than the leader and I was just paying to use their scale. This can be done with the resources you have at hand right now.

Starting weight was 319 for the challenge. Last week I was 313 and this week I'm 310. So that's 3 pounds down for this week and a total of 9 so far. Another pound and I will be 10% of the way there. I love math. Can you tell?

Ladies don't ever think you can't do this. I'm 64 and will be 65 next month. I have a bad hip that keeps me from doing much exercise. I started out at 390 and this morning I weighed in at 310 and a half. I started in the fall of 214 and then fell off the wagon for several months. Luckily I didn't gain back the 50 or so…

Congratulations on your success so far. My grandson played football in school too. Sometimes what the coach expects is not always the healthiest for the players. I'm glad you are on the road to good health. Keep up the good work.

Boy it's rough getting around when your hips give out. I haven't actually seen my surgeon yet. I didn't have medical insurance and sure couldn't afford to pay for it on my own. The first of February I qualify for Medicare. I have also bought a supplemental insurance policy that will pay what Medicare won't pay for. So now…

You can't look at this as a diet but as a lifestyle change. Start with small changes and build on those. Small success lead to bigger success. You can do it.

Congratulations on your hard work and your success.

Good job!

You look great. Congratulations on your success. Take care of yourself.

SW: 319 CW: 313 Loss so far is 6 pounds. Have logged my food every single day for 102 days. The small step or tool I'm doing to help me is downloading some music to listen to while I ride my recumbent bike so it's not so boring.

Started the year at 319 and weighed in at 313 this morning. I'm down a total of 6 pounds so far for this challenge. Just keep going everyone, we can do this.

I'm 64 and will be 65 next month. I started this journey January of 2015 and found MFP in Oct of 2015. I can't exercise much because I have a bad hip and will need hip replacement surgery when my surgeon feels I've lost enough weight. Since last January I have lost 76 and a half pounds. If I can do this so can you. Just…

Go slowly and make small manageable changes and build on those. You haven't failed unless you completely give up. We have all been where you are. You can do this if you set your mind to it and follow through more times than you fail. Be as kind to yourself as you would be to a dear friend in your situation. Good luck to…

Congratulations on your success so far. Stay the course and you will be at goal in no time. Thanks for sharing your story.

Oh you give me hope even at my age. Thank you so much for posting your success story.

Sounds like a good plan. We must plan ahead to be successful. Failing to plan means planning to fail. You'll soon get strong enough to have that pizza in moderation. Until then enjoy your delicious salad.
-
That sounds like a really good way to do it. I'm thinking about adopting your idea.

As of 1/1/16 I'm at 319. My motivation is to lose enough to have my hip replacement surgery this year so I can get my mobility and my life back pain free. I like logging so that's not a problem for me.
-
Losing 100 pounds this year would put me at 216. That would be low enough to have my hip replacement surgery and relieve the chronic pain I'm suffering every day. That would allow me to get off the two pain medications I'm taking that are probably causing side effects I won't realize until later on and after I've been on…

Wow a big difference. Good job.

Hi everyone. I started at 390 and am now at 319. I don't have a final goal but think in total it will be to lose 250 pounds. It would be wonderful to lose 100 pounds in 2016, so I'm all in on this one. Looking forward to getting to know all of you better. Oh yeah, I'm female and I'm 64 years old.
-
What a new lease on life! Congratulations!

That's a fantastic success story. You give others hope when you share your success.

I've tried WW several times and had some success with it, then I stop losing. I think all the free point fruit and vegetables end up causing problems for me. If it's free I can eat a whole lot of something. Then you have bonus points etc, etc. with MFP I log every calorie that passes my lips so I know what I'm eating and…

Mine was when my surgeon told me he couldn't replace my hip until I lost weight. Worn out hips are very painful and I have found, quiet the motivator to lose weight.
