@ilikegardens Thanks for asking. I'm improving slowly but daily. I've mastered the stairs so can go up to my bedroom and sleep in my bed. That's wonderful. I finally faced the scale this morning and was devastated to see a 20 pound gain. I know I'm still very swollen from my surgery so it has to be mostly fluid retention,…

@1Nana2many Well said, thank you for sharing.

@AnnPT77 thank you for sharing your experience. I really do think that's the best idea for now. Nothing wrong with slow and steady. The main thing is I don't want to just give up and throw in the towel.

Thanks so much everyone for your advice and support. I'm using ice and drinking water. I just need to be patient. It takes time to get back to normal but of course I want to be back to normal now. My daughter and grandson did take me out today. We had breakfast at our favorite place and the bought 3 new apple trees. My…

Yes recovery is a long and slow process. I'll just be glad when my body does release the fluid build up. Everyone just keeps reminding me it takes time. I still can't go up all the stairs to my bedroom and I'm so ready to get back to my own bed. All we can do is just keep working on it.

I can't walk outside as I live on a hill and my drive way is very steep. My daughter is going to take me some where this weekend that has a walking path. I will be able to get out of the house and get in some walking then. In the mean time I will continue to do my physical therapy exercises every day. My doctor prescribed…

Thank you. I'm glad to hear your making progress on the stairs. Right now I can't walk up the stairs to my bedroom. There are 10 of them and my legs are still so swollen it feels like they weigh an extra 50 pounds each. I'm doing my exercises and practicing on the stairs twice a day. I have a hard time walking as my house…

Hi Karen I just had hip replacement surgery 3 weeks ago. I lost 108 pounds before the surgery but still have about 100 more to lose. So far my progress is going ok. It hasn't been easy but it is possible. I do think it will be worth it once I'm recovered and gain back my mobility. Good luck with your surgery.

I have lost a total of 96.5 pounds so far. I still need to lose another 135 more. I'm trying to lose enough weight that my surgeon will do my hip replacement surgery. I will, of course, continue with my eating plan regardless so I can get to a healthy weight. I'm 65 years old and I'm 5' 4.5" tall. I hope everyone else is…

I caught a cold on my birthday, Feb 26th, and an still fighting the stupid cough. Went to my doctor to be referred to my hip surgeon. Took another blood test and found out my pain medication, Diclofenac , is causing my creatinine levels in my kidneys to increase. My regular doctor told me to quit taking the medication and…

No one noticed my loss until I had lost 80 pounds. I started out at 390 though, so I think that's completely understandable. I'm ok with it though. This weight loss is all about me and my health.

I think you have inspired more than just a few people. Your success is just fantastic.
-
Wow you look great. Do you mind me asking your age? I'm 65 and afraid it might be too late for me to have any kind of real success.

Lost a pound and a half this week. So started this challenge at 319 and I'm 305.5 today. I have a total of 13.5 gone toward the 100. Come on everyone, let's not let this thread die. Get back in the game!

Congratulations! You look fantastic.
-
Amen. You look great. Good job!

I'm sorry you are having a bad time right now. I hope things get better soon.

Yep I agree with Nana2many. I'm over the magic diets and the quick fixes. I have dieted myself all the way up to the point I was within kissing distance of 400 pounds on the scale. Following what MFP has said I should have in calories and trying to move some every day, I have lost 83 pounds in about a years time. I'm…

It can really be hard getting back on track once you slide off. You're doing it though. Just keep at it and that small gain will be gone quickly.

I think you are doing great with the right ideas. You look great and I look forward to watching your continued success.
Thanks Cheryl I faired well in the ice, my daughter helped me to my car, thanks for the prayers
I'm glad you did ok and that your daughter was there to help you. I certainly have a strong fear of falling so I know exactly how you feel. Continuing good thoughts and prayers for your safety until we get…

I know exactly how you feel and the fear of falling on the ice and snow. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you get to where you need to go and home safely. Just be very careful and if there is someone around that can help don't be afraid to ask them for some assistance.

My mini goal for February is to be below 300 by my birthday which is February 26th. I'm 310 right now, so it might be tough but I'm going to try any way. That would really be so awesome for me. SW: 319 CW: 310

Good luck. I hope the scale reflects your hard work.
