I know a lot of people who do nothing but macadamia nuts when on a fat fast.

Personally I prefer to not drink my calories unless their in the form of a quality dark beer.

I have never had a need to be under a doctor's care for a ketogenic diet. They are not dangerous.

I don't eat carbs at every meal and stay below 20net carbs daily. Never been shaky, never had my blood sugar bottom out. Not remotely dangerous for me at all.

This is completely inaccurate information. Ketogenic diets are highly effective at reversing diabetes. If you have actual peer reviewed scientific sources that back up your claims, please share them.

Plenty of people bake on a low carb diet. Coconut flour and almond flour are ideal for a low carb lifestyle.

I follow a similar plan. Eating more protein doesn't necessarily make the diet high protein. I eat an average of 100 gm of protein a day and my fat fluctuates between 65-100 but rarely ever above my protein. 100 gm of protein is 400 calories and 100 grams of fat is 900 which still makes it a high fat moderate protein diet.…

I am going to a local bar with friends. I will be having garlic parmesan wings and a caesar salad. Go Panthers!! War Cam Eagle!

I can bounce my carbs (never more than 100) and stay in ketosis. But I do 16:8 intermittent fasting which I believe helps. I also believe in the quality of carbs. My usual cheats are the occasional gluten free pasta (wheat allergy) or regular potatoes/sweet potatoes, or chips and guac at a Mexican restaurant. I don't do it…

It's not low carb. Low carb is high fat which Smart Points is not. Smart Points is trying to steer people towards a more whole foods and grains approach. If you do the simply filling version of Smart Points where you eat from a list of free foods and only count point for non included items, you get whole wheat or gluten…

High protein with a small amount of healthy fat helps for those 500 cal days. Tuna with a touch of mayo or chicken breast sauteed in a bit of olive oil or coconut oil. The protein/fat combo helps to keep you satiated.

Paleo is also not really low carb. It's no refined carbs. But sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes, green veggies, tubers etc are all encouraged.

You may want to check the Paleo group

There is also a low carb group if you'd like to join. If you are trying to achieve ketosis and calculate using net carbs, you will want to calculate net carbs for each item individually. Tallying up all carbs and all fiber at the end of the day and doing one calculation will get you into trouble.

Tuna, chicken, and eggs are a good start. There is a low carb group that would probable be able to help you more than the main boards. But low carb/paleoish style diets seem to work well for PCOS sufferers.
