I find that, like others, weighing daily keeps my on track better than going a whole week.

I have had similar fluctuations when deviating form my normal diet/deficit. I have found that most of the time it relates to the sodium and excess water retention, as others have mentioned. Excess stomach/digestion system content can also be a factor. I find that once I right the ship, it usually takes about 3 days to get…

I think, given your situation, and your low daily calorie requirements, you really need to be working with your doctor through this. They will be able to give you much better advice than anyone on MFP will be able to give you. So sorry to hear about your injury...hope you get better soon!

My biggest mistakes in the beginning was not diligently weighing everything. I later found out I was eating a lot more calories than I thought I was.

Never used to be this bad. Seems that things aren't as well maintained lately. Glad I'm not paying for a premium subscription!

Not to pile on, but you definitely should not lose any more weight. There are real health risks associated with doing so. If you are not happy with your body composition, then you should consider sculpting your body to achieve your goals. Perhaps begin a strength training program to firm up a bit. You can reduce body fat…

Trust me, I have had days like that, although usually with me it is pizza. I can eat a whole large pizza myself in one day when I am in the mood. Best thing you can do right now is to realize that a couple of days will not ruin everything you have worked on, so don't beat yourself up any more than you already have, and…

Damn! Looking good!

Steve from Michigan back on MFP after gaining back some of the weight I have lost. have about 35-40 pounds to lose. Looking for friends for motivational support.
-
lol Congratulations! 17 lbs in 2 months is impressive!

Too much. If it was $3.00 per month, I would probably get it, but I just don't find the additional features worth the price they charge.

Down 2.4 lbs so far...woo hoo!

I personally find that liquid calories don't make me feel as full for as long. I used to drink a lot of protein shakes, and I typically found myself getting hungry much sooner than if I had consumed the same amount of "solid" calories, and would frequently find myself going over my daily calorie goal because of it.
-
I recommend starting with what MFP recommends and then give it a few weeks. If you aren't losing, the you can adjust your daily goal downward until you find your sweet spot. A big part of the equation will be how many calories you expend through exercise and other activities.

Maybe if you could provide a little information about your workout routine, we can offer suggestions on how to tweak it. You'll want a routine that maximizes hypertrophy.

One thing I always found is that fruits and veggies often do not make be feel full. It seems like I can eat a big salad, and then 60 minutes later, be ravenously hungry again. Try experimenting to find things that are low in calories, but leave you feeling fuller. For me, it's carbs.

As long as you are still losing inches, I wouldn't be too concerned. Scale weight can fluctuate, especially when starting an exercise program. I also have a similar issue with retaining water if I have too much sodium. I would just keep doing what you are doing, and reevaluate in a couple of weeks.

Hi feel free to add me!

I'm in! Starting Weight: 189 lbs Easter Goal: 179 lbs

Another vote for meal prepping. I find this helps me stick to the plan. I can also weigh things in advance and take them to work so I can make sure than I am not overeating.

I hear ya. After hitting my goal weight in July, and being in great shape, I have since gained 20 lbs. Worked out the other day, and man was I sore! Stick with it!

Hi, everyone! I am looking for friends who are active on MFP who want to motivate and help each other to reach our goals. Please feel free to ad me if you are looking for the same. Thanks!

Hi there! When I had my physical two years ago, I had high cholesterol, to the point my doctor wanted to me on meds for it. We decided to give exercise a try. I lost the excess weight, started doing cardio 3-4 times a week and weight training a couple of times a week. Within 3-4 months, my cholesterol was back down to…

I personally find that fruits and veggies don't keep me full for very long. Same with liquid calories. Try to find foods that are somewhat low in calories but more filling. Everyone is different, but for me it's meats, bagels, potatoes, etc. Another thing I do is try to eat less for breakfast and lunch and while at work so…

I would also add that you may want to reevaluate your daily calorie allowance, if you have not already done so. Your rate of weight loss should slow as you get closer to your ideal body weight. If you have only 10-15 lbs. to go, your rate should probably be a half pound a week, give or take. My daily calorie goal that I…

Also, if you are looking to bulk, you will need to have a surplus of calories, not eat at maintenance.

Based on your picture, I don't think you should drop an additional 15-20 lbs. At 6'2 and 185, you are already at a healthy BMI. In terms of body fat%, I would say you are more likely around 15%. I doubt you are as high as 19%. Trying to lose another 15-20 lbs will cost you muscle, in my opinion. Since your goal weight is…

Hi, 44 year old dad of one, here. On October 31st, 2017, I weighed in at 221 lbs. As of this morning, 166 lbs, so 55 lbs lost. Still have another 11 lbs to go to get to goal weight of 155. I have been exercising regularly (strength and cardio), as well as staying on course with tracking calories and ensuring I stay in my…
