  • I do pinup modeling on the side, and one of my pictures came back and you could see my gut through my dress. I also ripped a pair of pants I love from my butt getting bigger. I actually hide my body from my husband when I am getting dressed or changing clothes.
  • Heck yea!! Add away!!
  • I can understand that! I had to break it down to what do I want, how do I want to feel and how much am I willing to commit-I use Pinterest a lot for inspiration and guidance honestly with exercises and keeping things interesting and not getting bored!!
  • No, I love learning so I did all that for me-I've never been much of a goal setter or anything, so I wouldn't say it was in spite of...Mom was right about the man not committing to me full time though-but whatever-some people are worthy of faithfulness and love, some aren't I guess.
  • Yea, it's fine-I ended up in the PhD program and have a really great job so clearly she was wrong
  • When I was 13, my mom told my older brother I'd never amount to anything and she hoped I married a rich man-years later when I was in college she said no man would commit to me full time because I don't have "it"....whatever that is...
  • Yea actually-my husband and I have started really getting focused on lifting weights. When we use the squat rack, I never know how far to go-I've seen some guys go almost to the ground and some barely do a demi plie'... which was is correct?
  • I too, am 46 and had just posted about different our bodies are chemically during menopause. I'm not there yet (sadly!) but I feel the hormonal shifts every 28 days!! I've gained about 15-20 myself in the last 4 years with my own set of stressful events, and have been working to try and take it off! I have found that…
  • That would be awesome!!!
  • Yea...damnit, you guys are probably right...maybe I should allow some more time.
  • I plan to compete in March if all goes as planned!! I follow a ton of bikini pros on IG and YouTube-it's inspiring!
  • Yes I think I need to work harder and maybe even put it off until next summer-I made the decision after seeing a couple friends compete and how much intensity and work they put in! I think now that I am 46 I want different things and goals to work for and competing is one of them
  • I have honestly just started 2 months ago! So you think I need at least a year? I know the form has to look a certain way and follow a ton of bikini competitors on Instagram so I have a lot of work to do! Thank you for your help!!
  • Thanks for the response! I'm 5'8 about 157 and maybe 33% body fat (general stats) so I know I have my work cut out for me-I do agree that a professional can definitely get me where I want to be!!
  • I work out at PF too, and though I'm new it seems to work for me-i do wish they had trainers on site to answer questions and correct form and all that! I rely on my husband but wonder if we would be better served being at a pro gym?
  • Good info!! I clearly don't get enough protein! I am way under actually but I take a ton of vitamins!
  • Thanks everyone!! Y'all are so great, you all give great advice!! So grateful for your responses!
  • I'm not sure yet actually-I started focusing on weight training and haven't been able to adequately measure my time!
