Update for anyone that is interested. ....after a week of increased carbs (from often <20 to between 40 to 50 this week) I've not put in any weight at all! I started lchf in October and haven't had a period since December. Have been throughly checked over by the doctor, full bloods and some scans, all fine and I'm not pregnant or menopausal. The doctor only seems to think it's a problem if.I want more children (which I dont) so I've decided not to worry about it. X

So you are saying if I eat non low carb to 1200 I'll put on weight as opposed to 1200 low carb?

I wasn't thinking of going high carb as such, more just adding a few things in (not bread or pasta), and when I said birthday cake I did mean occasionally not very often. :) I am curious if 1200 on calorie counting alone will have a different effect (make me put on weight) as opposed to 1200 calorie…
